  1. I hope Wings take on the Capitals in the SCF next year. That series would blow the ratings out of the water. Everyone would be more excited to see Alexander Ovechkin over Crosby any day.

Man, that would be an exciting series! :)

translation: i'm so mad and so passive aggressive that i'll just find any excuse in any thread to relate it to how the Capitals would be a better match-up than the team that just beat the Wings in 7 games. You're a retarded f***, Snazzy, full ******* retard.

  2. Beating the best would mean beating a healthy Red Wings team. One of our lines was an AHL line from the Grand Rapids Griffins. Congrats for taking advantage of the opportunity.

Next year a Caps and Wings series would be awesome! It will help the NHL ratings facing AO!!! He's an amazing player. :)

Congrats finally getting your cup. Enjoy it while you have it, because it's coming back home to Hockeytown where it belongs next year.

If I had a time machine, I'd go back and buy your father a condom and try to convince him not to f*** his drunk retarded cousin.

  3. I doubt we'll be seeing the Penguins deep in the playoffs (if they even make the playoffs) again for awhile. Their team is due to dismantle and they are having cap issues. Their GM doesn't have the mojo like Kenny Holland does.

Pittsburgh is a sinking ship, I expect to see players jumping off like crazy now.

You might be the dumbest poster here at LGW, the most annoying at least. Nothing you say or any thread you start is steeped in any logic or truth.

The Pens have their core players locked up for the next 5 to 7 years. Sinking ship? 2 Days after they beat the Red Wings on home ice. 2 months after they started an 18-3-4 final run at the playoffs with a new young energized coach? One year away from a new arena? ANd coming off their second SFC in the two years?

I understand your little ***** is aching from the swift kick Stanley Cup loss was, but christ sake s***head...make some ******* sense.

Try shutting the f*** up until you are over the devestating finals loss.

Once you take a step back (and stop huffing spray paint and model glue) you'll see that the Pens will be hovering around the Cup for years to come.

  4. Wow. I'm glad that with your busy schedule that you can stay and find the time to give us comment gems like these.

And I am glad your busy schedule allows you and your ilk time to stay here and whine and cry and blubber and blame and deflect and act like idiots because you didn't do what was statistically a gimme--- win 2 out of 5 to close out the Cup.

Instead of following your team's captian and understadning that this is a learning opportunity, you come and make excuses and bash the Pens.

  5. Like I said before: I am jealous of the Caps fans who have the best player in the league. There's nothing inconsistent about that statement. Hell in a recent poll amongst NHL players they voted by a wide margin in favor of Alex Ovechkin as the league's best player. Cindy Crosby came somewhere around 8th place in that same poll and that's the opinion of the players. Apparently the only blind one around here is you being a blind homer Cindy Crosby fanboy.

Open you eyes and try reading a thread you son of a diry tired old hooker. I openly said Crosby is not the best in the league, yet.

Suck on my Stanley Cup, Detroit Crybaby.

Mod...feel free to ban me now.

Bored with these broken down Detroit *******.

  6. NHL is destroying itself and Reebok wanted to jump on board the sinking ship? NHL is marketing a *****-leaguer who dives, crys, and complains more than a little girl starting her period. The government won't bail them out.... This has Freddy Mac written all over it.

Enjoy hockey while we have it folks, because it's gonna go to hell and turn into a *****-league.

Reebok is representing the Freddy Mac of NHL; the man who is destroying the sport that we all come love.

And your favorite site, Letsgowings.com, is pimping both of their products. Even Wings fans are selling out.

  7. First of all, Crosby's peers in the NHL have voted him the biggest whiner in the NHL. So your argument on that completely fails. I don't care if he was celebrating or not. You take a step away from the celebrating for 2 minutes to show some respect to the ENTIRE team that you just defeated, just as the Wings did last year. It's called sportsmanship.

You really want to get into an argument about Crosby crying to the refs? If you really want to we can, but you are going to lose.

    \

    Show me this "whiner poll"

  8. Well I'm going to have to disagree with you there. Because personally I'm jealous of the Caps fans who have the best player in the league Alex Ovechkin. I'd love to have a player like that on our team. He's an amazing player and the D.C. area is lucky to have him.

Really? Ovie is an awesome offensive force but he is a puck hog that shoots every chance he gets and plays zero defense. He is either cherry picking at the redline or occasionally skating in to blinside someone (usually leaving his skates to do so). He's an awesome talent, but not as well rounded a player as even Sid not even clsoe to Z or Pavs. You make no sense and your blind jealosuy is showing in your inconsistent statements.

  9. Crosby plays good D now? Coulda fooled me. He's a great player for what he does, which is making plays and scoring goals, but a good dman he is not.

Well, open your eyes next time you watch him play, jackass. He isn't Pavs caliber, yet. But he is young and he contributes and every year will make him beter.

  10. Get used to it, Im sure he will be on Cereal boxes and late night TV, every intro to everything hockey will have his face and the cup beside it, Im sure the hockey night in Canada people are already inserting him into next years theme song pregame video.

Do you blame them? You do see the leagues need to market itself, right? Youwant the sport to remain viable, right?

  11. That's what this forum is for. That's what fans do, they talk about their team and their players and they also discuss other teams and those team's players in both a positive or negative fashion. Cindy Crosby is a professional hockey player and he is paid to play hockey and lead his team. He's not paid to cry to the refs or cry to the media. There is a difference. Can you see it?

And this forum is also for dissenting opinions, different views and the like. I'm here to tell you that you opinion of Crosby might be trumped up with a hint of jealousy and some conjecture. He isn't as whiney as you want to make him out t be. It is convenient to keep that image bacause it comforts you. Will he grow and mature in the coming years? Sure.

  12. Go back to your cave, sleezy pete the bandwagon fan,

LOL. You don't have a damn thing to say about my point. Instead you use a tired "bandwagon" argument and a slur to reply? You aren't aren't the sharpest crayon in the box.

Care to comment on the icing and the Stuart mistake?? If not, STFU, Hockeyho1960.

  13. As a Pens fan I'm willing to admit that Crosby isn't yet the best player in the league, but he is pretty damn good and he has tons of potential. His story and his face are marketable. Sadly, the NHL needs to exploit that to keep new fans coming to the sport. The very new fans that Red Wing's fans will cal bandwagoners etc. But like it or not, the die-hard regualars won't pay the bills without new fans...guilible fans that buy shirts and pucks and tickets and internet packages etc

Crosby has so much potential. Age and experience and being a pupil of Mario will help him shape himself into one of the best of all times. I think most of you know this, deep down.

  14. These are the statements that are so idiotic. You don't know what your team would have been like if you'd kept him.

Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit, huh? No one here claims to know what the team woud be like with Hossa. We know that his comments and his reasoning was a slap in the face to the team. Pittsburgh fans didn't want his assessment to be true. Shutting him down in the finals was the cream on top of the Cup. Had we seen him with the SCF game winnr in game 7 it would have been heartbreaking.

We know what our team was like without him: Championship caliber.

  15. I've already turned off DirecTV.

    Pens Fa....well, Yinzers are delusional.

Games 1 and 2, they're talking about how steelers season is coming up

Games 3 and 4 they're back to being pens fans

Game 5 they're talking about how detroit sucks and GM/Chrysler are going down the toilet

Game 6 they're hoping not to get blown away

and game 7 they're bigger than god.

I hope Karma and the Hockey Gods punt the Pens in the nutsack.

I wonder where you go these opinions? I assume you made them up to make yoursefl feel better. I'll tell you what any and every Pens fan I know was thinking.

Game 1 and 2: Damn it, we had a great shot to win one at the Joe. We didn't expect to win one at the Joe, but we can now see this Red Wings team isn't as dominant as they were last year.

Game 3 and 4: There we are, defend the home, even the series plant the seedsof doubt.

Game 5: s***. We lost all composure and got killed. Better regroup and win at Mellon.

Game 6: BOOM!. Life. Bring us game 7.

Game 7: Anything goes and our boys have enough heart to beat this tem.

Aftermath: Greatseason, true, grit. Awesome series and a CUP. Wooooo Hoooooo.

  16. I really enjoyed watching Hossa in Detroit. I would really like him to stay as I think he can and will find his groove again, you can't keep elite players down. His defensive play was fantastic, he fit in the locker room like he'd been there all along and its been said over and over that he is just a great person. His Offense lacked when we needed it but I would bet he finds the solution and fixes it. I would not be opposed to having him sign despite a lack of playoff offence.

These are the same reasons we liked Hossa in Pittsburgh. I think the "hatred" for Hossa disapted about 45 minutes after game 7. The bar erupted in to "Hosssssaaaaa Hossssaaaa Hooooosssssssaaaaa" when they showed him right after the loss. Then I think everyone sort of let it go. The city got its pound of flesh watching him watch the Pens hoist the cup.

I wish him well in the rest of his career.

  17. I'm not a fan or artricles like this. What does anyone expect Hossa to say?

"Damn I made a huge mistake, I'd I would have just stayed a Penguin I'd be sitting on $49 million and a Stanley Cup, I'm the bigest idiot in the world."

  18. Thank you both for the support. Sometimes I feel like we're just spoiled and angry that our team lost.. but after Talbot got a goal off of a waived icing call.. I gave up. I don't like complaining about the refs, but the officiating was horrible, to say the least.

Your words are HIGHLY appreciated here. Trust me. :P

You know I watched the game again yesterday while I was eating lunch in the bar, The "waved icing" thing is bunk. The play was close, there was never an indication of icing and Stuart played the puchas if there were no icing. He fumbled it, Malkin got it to Talbot and Ozzie was late getting hi stick on the ice. End of story.
