What makes this series so great is the disparity in how these 2 teams are built. Penguins are topheavy with superior talent at the elite level(Crosby, Malkin, Gonchar, even Staal) where Wings don't matchup even taking into consideration how great Zetterberg, Lidstrom and Dats are. However, Detroit has an amazing advantage of depth once you move to midtier players. How does it play out is the $64,000 question. I still have to with Pens in 6. Saturday could be one of the best Stanley Cup games in last 15 years.

Are you actually saying that Malkin and Crosby are bad human beings or lack character? If so, that is beyond absurd. The thing that makes Crosby great is he is an athlete with an elite skill-set who plays the game like he's a 4th liner. Never takes a second off on any shift and it that work ethic that will bring the Cup home to Pittsburgh.

And yes, being a 2 way player counts and this is not strictly about scoring.

I think Irish and many other Wings fans are missing something very important. When you talk about Zetterberg and Dats being older and in their prime I view that as an advantage for Pens. What I'm saying is even though Dats hasn't played compare the difference between Zetterberg and Dats vs Crosby/Malkin last year as opposed to this year. Last year they were head and shoulders above Crosby/Malkin and it showed on ice. This year that gap has shrunk substantially if there is a gap at all. That's a trend that should continue going forward. Let's say we meet again in 2010 for Stanley Cup. Who do you think is going to be the better pair at that point in time a year older? Zet/Dats or Crosby/Malkin?

Cmon guys you can argue all day with logical evidence Detroit has better all around team. But you really won't concede that Malkin and Crosby are ahead of anything you guys have at 1 and 2 as far as best players on your team???

Well I rate Zetterberg on essentially same level as Cros when you factor in his defensive capabilities but I don't see anyone who matches up with Malkin including Dats. Have to pair up the best vs best on each team and move your way down. Yeah you have a point historically Lidstrom would rate higher than Gonch but I don't think in this series so far.

1. Malkin 2 tie between Zetterberg and Crosy 3. Iginla 4. Ovechkin 5 Parise

Pens most likely win a very tightly contested game 5 imho but even if they don't I would expect them to win this in 7 even with final game at Joe. Too much fatigue for wings. Expect them to give everything they have in first period- if they don't bowl Pens over right then and thre I expect series to be over.

As a Pens fan I'm concerned about Dats being healthy enough to frustrate Malkin in the remainder of series. Also don't like having to play 2 games in the Joe. However, I think one of the biggest stories unfolding here from a positive perspective is that MAF is getting better as the series progresses and Oz is getting worse. Came on yesterday and took a lot of abuse for calling Pens in 6. Still sticking by my prediction but expect Saturday to be a war and for the Wings to mount a furious rally at beginning of game.

If I could wave a magic wand and get him off the ice I would obviously. Which Penguin scares you the most. Interested in hearing serious responses.
