Can't stand the Sharks. Wings are team of destiny this year. What a fricking game!

I'm an outsider but I honestly always believed Wings could come back; especially given how close the first 3 losses were. That's why I bet them when they were down 3-0 and getting 50:1 odds to win the Cup(my eyes almost popped out of my head). This team has too much damn talent and character to not take a shot at those odds down 3-0 or not.

That game was incredible. I can't remember pulling for a team that hard before that wasn't a Pittsburgh team. Lidstrom had just been such a privilege to watch and I want to see him terrorize the Canucks. I'm guessing about 36-37 hours before history is made!

I've watched more playoff hockey this year than any year before. Seen every team play. Trust me as an outsider, Wings are winning the Cup. Boston might give you a a few headaches if they beat Tampa but you're gonna roll the Canucks and Luongo. Sedin Brothers are going to put to shame by the Detroit crew.

in the 3rd period Sunday night. Been watching a lot of hockey and perhaps best period of hockey I've seen this playoff season. There seemed to be a paradigm shift and Wings just took game to another level. In a few days will we be talking about the 4th team to come back from 3-0? I think so. Go Wings!!! Also- I think Niemi is going to be soft the rest of the series.

Wings-Canucks would be awesome series but I think Wings would take them in 6 games max- especially with momentum coming off this comeback provided they don't suffer any more devastating injuries.

Hey I learned to respect this Wings team a great deal watching them up close in 2008-2009- which is why I put a few bucks on them when they were down 3-0 to Sharks at 50:1 to win the Cup. I really do think you guys have a huge goaltending advantage with Howard over Niemi- especially now when pressure is adding up. I also think ESPN and everyone talking about Lidstrom's farewell tour is working to your advantage pyschologically. Go Wings!!!!

Just a question I suppose more for the sake of nostalgia. Was talking to a friend about watching Penguins in late 70s, early 80s. I was very young but as I remember things it was not too often you would get a game on TV. At best I would say 1 in 4 games were televised, perhaps 1 in 5. I believe the Pens were done by a local cable channel at the time. Anyway, just curious if it was a similar situation in Detroit during that era. I don't know why but I've always been nostalgic about that era even though the Pens basically stunk.

In all honesty Snazzy I don't care and I dont mean that to sound smart but that is just how I feel. I'm a Penguin fan so I generaly like Crosby but if he played for another team maybe I would feel different- who knows? I remember in the early 90s traveling to Canada for a fishing trip and being surprised that a lot of the Canadiens I ran into when finding out I was from Pittsburgh had to tell me how much they hated Lemieux and that he was a whiner and prima donna when compared to Gretzky. I was surprised but couldn't say it really bothered me. Nor would it have much of an impact if opposing fans held one of our key players in high regard. I just like guys who play for the team I root for to perform well on the ice and basically live their personal life as a somewhat respectable citizen.

I agree completely. Only distinction I would draw is that I consider Fleury overrated but not grossly overrated. In any event, it's hard to argue against what Osgood has accomplished and the money it has cost Wings to retain him. As an opposing fan I will often hear many people talk about how Osgood is only an average goalie etc., etc,, and then you find your team playing againt him with everything on the line and you realize when it counts the most he is generally VERY hard to beat.

Cmon Lefty- you have to be able to do better than that. I know Crosby didn't do much against Wings but he put Pens on his back in Caps series when things looked awfully grim and Ovechkin was punching his ticket to Conference finals. Stanley Cup is more than just the final round. Crosby did a lot to get his team another shot at Detroit.

or Islanders did as far as a dynasty is concerned. The more I look at this Pens team I think we know that the 4 key pieces are Crosby, Malkin, Staal and Fleury. If we can keep these 4 and mix in some talent at the wings come playoff time I think we will be OK. I think we will keep a role player like Talbot for certain but assume guys such as Guerin and Hall Hill are gone. The youth is the key with this team. Not saying it's probable but I do think it's possible they repeat what Islanders did in early 80s and what Oilers did in mid to late late 80's.

I actually agree with Snazzy that Fleury is overpaid based upon his performance. I think Fleury is good, just not elite at least not yet. Though I wouldn't consider Osgood elite either and he has a room full of Cups so who knows. Bottom line is I do wish Fleury was making a bit less to spend on other players.

Not expecting Pens to make playoffs. A bit extreme- 8 teams to finish ahead of them?

LOL- am I missing something you guys have 4 Cups in last 20 years. IF Pens win next year that would be 2 Cups in 2 years as opposed to 2 Cups in 11 for the Wings. Just saying, since the Oilers domination ended the Wings and Pens have won more Cups than anyone else.
