Such bulls***. Way to win a faceoff, though. Chris
-
Well that wasn't a good start.
-
Well, at least it's still 0-0 after one. Sharks are definitely bringing it, but that was to be expected after what happened last game. Wings are looking a little bit too much like they did in games 1-3, though. Hopefully something good happens in the locker room. Chris

Franzen going for a hat trick of penalties. Chris

Bad giveaway.

I switched from Vs. to Comcast Sports, but Drew Remenda is being bitchy. Wish I could get FSD without having to pay an arm and a leg for NHL Center Ice. Chris
-
Good PK or just a bad PP? Chris
-
Agreed. Both teams look tentative. Chris

Vs. announcer said "call coming up" and then they cut to commercial. So lame. Chris
-
Who's the call on?!? Chris
-
Well at least the Vs. broadcast isn't the Comcast Sports California feed again. Haha. Daryl Reaugh just said "teabag". Chris

I'm a little bit nervous. I wasn't at all before game 4 because I just figured that the series was over anyway. Seeing that the Red Wings can, in fact, mop up the floor with the Sharks when they're motivated gave me hope. I'm curious to see which Wings team and which Sharks team show up tonight. I'm a big believer in the "Blow-out bounce-back", and we messed the Sharks up pretty bad, so they are going to come out swinging tonight. I'm not really nervous though because I don't think that the Wings are the ones who have the pressure on them. Given our recent playoff history, no one can really give them s*** for being knocked out in the second round. They have played a LOT of hockey in the last three years. The Sharks have reputation that they are trying to shake. The Sharks have a lot of expectations on them right now, between their recent playoff history and the fact that they went up 3-0 in the series. No one really expects the Wings to win this series anymore, and they've been to the SCF the last two years in a row, so there really isn't any pressure on them. I think that we are going to see what the Sharks are all about tonight, and in subsequent games, if any. If they step up to the plate and take care of business then they have earned it. If they don't, then they are just further cementing their status as the biggest chokers in the league - the Buffalo Bills of the NHL. Chris

1995 conf finals vs avs "classic series"
Jibbajaba replied to Manny>Ozzie(by a long shot)'s topic in General
I was just watching some of that myself. I was laughing my ass off during the little deal where Mike Ricci wasn't letting one of the Wings on the bench grab his stick off of the ice (in game 1). Chris -
Yeah dude, you're cool so don't even worry about it. Chris

That's exactly how I feel. I NEVER thought that the Penguins were going to beat us in the SCF last year after we went up 2-0. We let them back into the series, and once we hit game 7, it was by definition anyone's series. Game 5 is going to be epic. Obviously, if we lose then it's over, but if we win then I REALLY think that all the pressure is on the Sharks. There really isn't much pressure on the Wings. After going as deep as we have into the playoffs in the past three, and now 4, seasons, we don't really have anything to prove. The Sharks have a league-wide reputation as a horrible playoff team, and a game like tonight's is going to really f*** with their heads. They may have a bounceback game on Saturday due to tonight's thorough beating, but if they don't then they are going to be in real trouble. You can't tell me that deep down inside most of the players on the Sharks don't have a little bit of a confidence problem as far as the playoffs are concerned, and when a game like this happens it has to really push the s*** out of that button. Or maybe they win on Saturday and tonight was just a fluke. Chris

It's funny, but a soon as I posted that comment, I thought the same thing. Chris

This thread was a lot less busy than it has been in past games. Lots of fair-weather fans, I guess. Chris

PITTSBURG SERIES IS TIED, *******!!!! HALAK!!!! Chris

Man, I know we're down 3-0, but this game is in the bag, which means we just need to win 3 in a row. Why not? The Sharks did it, and they won all three by 1 goal each with like a zillion power plays. I'm just saying, I know it's only happened twice in NHL history, but this can seriously happen. We're still down 3-1, but this is starting to feel like a series again. After the beating that the Sharks are taking, it kind of feels like the pressure is on them. They are the ones with something to prove, and they are the ones with a monkey on their back after seasons of playoff chokage. The Wings just showed what happens when they bring their A-game. I don't know why, and maybe I'm just riding the high, but game 5 feels like it is going to be a must-win game for the Sharks as much as for the Red Wings. San Jose does NOT want to come back to the Joe this weekend with the series at 3-2. Chris

That ref looks 16.

Man I just got home from work and missed the whole first period. I looked up the score on my phone and saw that it was 1-0, and then checked again what felt like a few mins later and saw that it was 4-0 and that the Mule had scored all four goals. I honestly thought it was a computer error. I hope this is the start of something and not just a last gasp. Chris
-
That's absolutely true, but let's not start talking like that quite yet. Sure, we can't expect them to win the cup every year but hope is the whole reason for being a sports fan. Chris
-
True. Could be the start of the choke-out. Chris
