Girls can't play hockey, its just a fact. Its a man's sport, lets keep it that way, the end. If they want to start up a WNHL, thats fine, but it'll be destined to be moved from Detroit to some cornfield in Oklahoma after winning 3 championships.

Yeah, there were a lot of irrational posts made in the GDT, but a lot of us were just using the blowout to poke some fun at our own team, and to be humorous. However, there is real cause for concern, if you take a look at the Wings season as a whole this year. Our defense has failed to show up way to often, causing 3-4 goals against on a regular basis. The only reason the Wings are in the playoff position that they are is because our offense is able to score enough goals to get over these large deficits. I haven't heard anyone around here knocking Lidstrom, but it wouldn't surprise me if some less informed individuals were doing so. Franzen on the other hand, hasn't done much this season. He really needs to step up to the plate and earn his nickname. In the end, I think the Wings needed to be embarassed to real light a fire under their asses to get going for the playoffs. I'm hoping they never forget the feeling they had skating off the ice Wednesday night, use it as motivation for playing at their absolute best during the playoffs.

Seriously? We have every right to rag on the team after last night's performance. If it was a 3-2, 4-2 type loss, that's one thing. When you get blown out 10-3, on home ice, against a team with no playoff hopes what so ever, we have every right as fans to criticize. Why is it that you can't criticize a the Wings for an abysmal performance around here without being called a fair weather fan?

I believe that there's something seriously out of skew with this team this year. Even without last night's game, they give up too many goals, and too many turn overs. Getting outshot by the #13 team is unacceptable at this time of the season.

While that 2nd goal was highlight worthy and fun to watch, it was clearly interference against Howie IMHO. I hate to play this card, but if it was Homer in there instead of Lupul, it would have been waived a no goal. I hope the injury is nothing serious, and Howie makes a quick recovery. I don't understand the Howard hate at all in this thread. I don't think Howard is at the top of his game yet, but this is only his 2nd full NHL season, the kid will improve.

Sorry I'm late to the party here... I think this is a great idea. Maybe a GTG during one of the upcoming playoff games? These are some of my favorites: (1,2, and 3 are basically the same, just different locales) 1) Rochester Mills 2) Royal Oak Brewery 3) Detroit Beer Company 4) Kuhnhenn's - Good beers, but only 2 TV's, they're big though. 5) Woodward Avenue Brewers - Don't know about their TV situation, I've always sat outside in the summer.

It wasn't Holmstrom knocking into the goalie, therefore no interference. Are you new to NHL hockey?

I feel about the same this season with either one of them between the pipes. They're both solid, they won't steal you any games but they won't screw you over either. I liked Mickey's comments at the end of this game about how Joey Mac is well liked in the locker room, and the team has confidence in front of him. That goes a long way.

Yzerman wasn't a fan of the visor, then this happened: After that, he decided the visor was all right. A puck or stick in the eye can be career-ending. If players want to gamble with their careers and play without one, that's fine with me, not my livelyhood. If I were playing, I'd put on the visor. That being said, I don't think the NHL should force anyone to wear one either. You just have to assume the risks.

I have this game saved on my computer. Maybe I'll watch it as a warm up to the Maple Leafs game tonight I was a sophomore in high school at the time, man does the time fly.
