I looked into Center Ice and discovered local games would be blacked out.... stupid cable. Was talking to WOW today and they tried making me an offer I couldn't refuse for Cable+TV which is less than half the price of what Comcraptastic is charging me, so I might go that route.

So, my cable bill is becoming monstrous with internet, hd service, a dvr, 2 cable boxes, etc etc. I hate paying the bill every month because no one in my family really watches it. We mostly watch blu ray/dvd, or netflix. Honestly, the only thing I watch on cable is live sports. I want to drop the TV and just have internet service. If any of you have done this, what is your solution for watching live sports? I've used rabbit ears in the past ot watch the Tigers on over the air HD, but I don't think I can get Wings games that way.

The Wings look completely outclassed and half asleep the last 2 games. I was excited after game 1 that this was going to be a fun series to watch, the new guys looked hungry and the whole team was competing well. Jimmy looked good too. It looks like the team from game 1 went home, and I have no idea who's playing now. Not sure if it's the pressure or Boston stepping up their game after the loss, probably a combination of both.

I have my Molson and Jameson ready for this.... LGW! Hoping we get game 1 Jimmy instead of game 2 Jimmy. He got m hopes up, only to fall apart on Sunday.

Ugh, Reeeeebok!!!!! I knew this was going to happen sooner or later. I haven't shopped for a jersey in a while, but when looking for a winter classic authentic I ran into the Indonesian made "authentic" edge jerseys (indo-edge). I wouldn't mind if they dropped the price on these, but they're still charging a premium. And as stated above, they market them as "what the pros wear" which is a lie. You used to be able to get a real good quality replica back in the day, when CCM, Koho, Nike, etc made them. Materials were nice, constructions was great, and they last forever. Reebok replicas are not as nice, with thin material. Looks like the authentics are going down the same path. There are still ways to get authentic Edge 2.0 jerseys just like the team wears, some Canadian shops sell them. Frozen Pond had them, but they look to be sold out. True, but that's what a good producer/editor does. They should be able to take boring material and make it interesting. I enjoyed the episode, just thought it fell flat.

I was underwhelmed by the episode. I felt like HBO was just calling it in with this one, going through the motions. About half way through the toaster scene, I was like "CAN WE PLEASE MOVE ON??" Why do I even pay for HBO.........

The retail authentics were made using the edge 1.0 material, while the replicas are made with air knit. The edge material snags very easily, while the air knit is much sturdier. I probably looked at a dozen different authentics before the '09 WC game, and they all had bad snags or pulls in them. My replica WC has been worn quite a bit, to games, to the bar to watch games, etc, and it still looks like the day I bought it.

Ah, my favorite part of fall.. the return of hockey. LGRW! I'm sure we'll hear it, the crowd was doing this chant during the preseason game against the Pens.

Another vote for SportsK here. I haven't bought a jersey from them, but I've had them sew names on 3 of mine. They do an awesome job.

Very sad... battling cancer and then dying like this. I started watching the Wings right at the end of Burr's time with them, so I don't have many memories watching him play. Sounds like he was a great guy and a fun team mate.
