Agreed. I read some posts in the GDT saying that Detroit doesn't consider Chicago to be a real threat anymore, so they don't take them seriously, yadda yadda. No excuse. The Wings knew they could clobber them, why take a night off, and embarass yourselves in front of a bunch of bandwagon Chicago fans, only adding fuel to their fire.

It was very disappointing, and extremely disrespectful. You could tell that Mickey was upset about it during the broadcast. Their fanbase just has this negative energy about it, and even if I were a Blackhawk fan I wouldn't be able to stand it going to the games. You go to the Joe its "Lets Go Red Wings" lets cheer our team on. At the United Center its "Detroit Sucks," sometimes even when they aren't playing us. Its one thing to have a few cheap shots at the opponent, but to do that the entire game. Their treatment of Cheli just exposes them for who they are as a fanbase. They know nothing about hockey or their team's history other than the fact that they won a Stanley Cup last year. If there had been a Probert appreciation night at the Joe, he wouldn't have been booed by us.

Yeah, this was the absolute most frustrating game to watch in a long, long time. I mean, that 3rd period, we owned the game, we kept the puck in their zone, but nothing came of it. No one wanted to shoot, if they did shoot it was way off the mark. I don't know what the hell happened out there. And this meltdown had to happen in front of a bunch of s***cago fans too...great...

I guess you can't be too classy if your team's logo was a member of the Village People...

They could still do it, plenty of open space for an ice rink there right now. They could call it "Rumble in the Rubble" lol

If a Wings fan can bring a "One and Done" sign, and have it show up on the broadcast, that would be spectacular.

If the NHL would suck it up and stop shunning Canadian teams, I would think a Red Wings - Maple Leafs @ Comerica Park WC would be spectacular. I would spend a lot of money for a ticket to see that.

Really? He hit someone because they were a Wings fan? I hope the UC staff kicked this a-hole out, along with the beer-spillers mentioned above. I guess I'm glad I get to watch hockey in a civilized arena. The last time I watched the Wings clobber Chicago at the Joe, there were some obnoxious, and I mean OBNOXIOUS, Hawks fans sitting right next to us. No one hit them, spilled beer on them, or even said anything nasty to them. I guess Wings fans can't expect the same treatment in their arena.

I can already hear the constant drone of "Detroit sucks" chants coming from the United Center... sigh... 3-1 victory for the wings, and I predict Cleary, Mule (he's been looking hungry for a goal lately), and Dats with a shot between the legs.

Murph was even talking about it during last night's game. Mick was talking about the free hockey helmet hat night, and Murph jumps in with "ain't as good as dollar hot dog night!!!"

This is all rumors and hearsay, but I heard that starting in 2012 the NHL will be rotating the original-6 teams through the Winter Classic. Like I said, these are rumors I heard while talking to some people at a local sports store, and it would require the NHL to not exclude the Canadian teams from the WC. These wouldn't be all O6 matchups according to the rumor, it would be an O6 team vs another non-O6 team.

They still had a couple at the Madison Heights Dunham's, about a month ago. The only reason I didn't buy the authentic was because I despise the Edge 1.0 jerseys. The material they use snags very easily, and then your expensive jersey looks like junk. The replica WC jerseys are made with air-knit, and last longer. Leave it to Reebok to make the replica better than the authentic....

You'll never be able to find a fake Red Wings Winter Classic jersey that looks anywhere close to being right. They're all god-awful ugly, and you'll wish you would have saved your money. The fight straps suck, the font is wrong, and the front logo is made of some really thick twill-like material that has the red outline. Ugly ugly jersey. The Dunham's stores around the Detroit area have winter classic jerseys, both replica and authentic, on clearance right now. You can snag a replica for $99.00, I just picked one up as a gift for someone. You might be able to order one online or over the phone.
