Haven't been in the watercooler in a while, great picture loo! We look like a happy group! Must have been taken before the end of the game I'm definitely in for next year if you guys come back to town. Maybe ya'll can flirt with the bar owner again for some more free drinks!

It would be more of a rallying cry if someone from Nashville intentionally took Helm out. I think because of the Weber hit on Z, the fluky goals, and the crap penalties all game, that should be enough to get the Wings fired up mentally. -

Seriously, after having this happen to two of our guys, can the Wings brass make some sort of arm protection mandatory? The longer gloves, anything. Like Mickey keeps saying, I don't think the extra mobility you get from the shorter gloves is worth risking potentially season ending injuries over. I doubt Helm will be back for the playoffs. Hope he has a quick recovery and can bounce back from this. -
$1 per game won $1 for every goal hudler scores $5 for a shutout $5 for a hat trick $5 for a series win ($10 for a sweep)

Looks like Quincey was trying to Kronwall Kopecky, and failed. Needs some extra training from the master on how to get those brutal hits off in a clean fashion.

Just keep checking ebay. They do come up every now and then. You could also buy another player's jersey, and have the name/number replaced with McCarty's.

I don't think I'll ever get tired of hearing "Don't Stop Believin'" at the Joe. I've always associated the song with the Wings, everyone else is just ripping us off. Also, who cares about the whole "South Detroit" thing? He put it in because it sounds good in the song. Detroit has a south... it's the riverwalk, Ren Cen, etc... just deal with it and enjoy The Shanahan Jig will forever be one of my favorite player-specific tunes.

I've heard the 'JIMMY' and 'HOWIE' chants going at the Joe last year. I'm a horrible fan this year, and haven't been to a game yet, so I'm not sure what the kids are saying now. I think either chant is fine, and both will pump him up. -

This is the first season where my computer is not in the same room as my TV... so I actually have to get off of my butt to type a comment, that kind of exertion of energy is usually reserved for filling my beer glass. I usually check out the GDT between periods, but whatever comment I was going to make is usually already said by someone else. Also, there seems to be a lot more trolls this year.

I'd say do whatever makes you happy! I'm more of a Red Wings fan than an NHL fan in general, although I do pay attention to the rest of the league to keep my current hockey knowledge up. I only own Red Wings merch, the only non-wings jersey I own is a Team USA hockey jersey I wear during the Olympics. I have a friend who is a fan of the Blackhawks and Red Wings, and owns stuff for both teams. Although we do give him crap about it, it's all in good fun

Not a book, but I own this DVD and I think its a must have for a Red Wings fan. It has documentaries covering the 97,98, and 02 cup championships. It also has five complete games, ones that fans voted on as being the 5 greatest Red Wings games. I usually hang out at the Old Shillelagh before and after games. They have good beer, and the shuttle to the Joe is free. I haven't been to Nemo's yet, but I've heard a lot of good things about it. I'll probably go there before my next game.
