Maybe for some, but not all. Going back to the Vick example - I'm a Lions fan (yeah, I know) and if they decided to pick up Vick I'd be very angry as a fan, and rightfully so.

First! Is Howard in goal? I've been hearing that Ozzie's going to start.

Curly fries are fun, a tasty snack, and sound better when Mickey says it. I don't care if getting a roast beef sandwich is a better deal, people obviously like the curly fries better. Its a better marketing campaign too. Mickey says curly fries all the time, Z is called Mr. Curly Fries, their product is mentioned multiple times anyone gets close to a hat trick. Arby's beef sucks anyway CURLY FRIES BABY WOOOHOO!!! I may or may not have had a few drinks tonight.

The only superstitious thing I hate is when people start chanting "We got the cup!" during a finals game before the game is over. I have proof that the superstition is justified!!! 1) 1997 finals - I was in high school, and had some friends over to watch the game. They all started chanting it while I was telling them to shut the hell up. Moments after they started chanting, Lindros scores, bringing the game within a goal of being tied with 20 or so seconds left to play. 2) 2008 finals - I was watching game 6 at a bar in Royal Oak, and the whole bar started chanting "We got the cup!" with 2 minutes left to play. 30 seconds later, Hossa scores a goal, bringing the game within a goal of being tied. Yeah, deja vu. You don't ever ever ever call the cup before the game is over.

What I meant was that in hockey, people retaliate when another team's player wrongs your team (see McCarty clobbering Lemieux above). None of these retaliations has the intention of breaking anyone's neck, which is why I said that Bert didn't go after Moore intending to do so.
-
This. Agree 100%. While I understand your analogy, what Bert did was nowhere near as despicable as what Vick did, please don't compare the two. What Bert did happens (happened) in hockey a lot, you mess with a team's star you have to expect some sort of retaliation. Did Bert go on the ice that night intending to end Moore's career? Probably not, but when the passion of the moment takes over accidents happen. Vick knowingly ran a dog fighting ring, and tortured and killed innocent and helpless dogs. Not the same!!!

Yes, he did, and it never gets old lol

A good player, but a dirty one. I have a hard time respecting him.

I actually rarely hear Burtuzzi's name come up as a hated athlete. With his public apologies regarding "the incident" and severe suspension, I think most people who know about what happened (aka more than just the casual hockey fan) are willing to forgive him. Bert is probably still hated in Colorado, but that's a given. We as Wings fans will forever hate Claude Lemieux, and he didn't end Draper's career.

EURO TWINS ... and Rafalski can come play too ...
-
Yup, quite tasty. Found them in the back of the beer fridge.

I was there as well to witness The Mule at his finest. Such a great night, the Joe was explosive I still have a few Noble Pils left in the fridge, I think I may consume them tonight. I think its the best beer Sam Adams has made yet, although I'm not a huge Sam Adams fan. Here's to victory! :beerbuddy:

Yeah, if you or I had this happen to us, our hockey days would be done. However, Modano has the best doctors at his disposal, who specialize in sports medicine. His chances of getting through this injury and coming back are much greater than the average person.

Wings-Sharks game might be postponed tonight

Is the ice going to melt in that Cali heat -
Yeah, I caught the Vlasic list too, got a chuckle out of it.

Someone's gotta tell it like it is Perhaps, but I think that Atlanta game is (hopefully) still fresh on their minds. Maybe our boys will be itching for a little payback from the playoffs. Here's to hoping the refs don't suck tonight.

Seriously, almost every one of your posts are negative. I'm still convinced you're a troll disguising your trolling as legitimate posts. Do you seriously think the wings, or any other NHL team, go out onto the ice thinking "well, I got all this money in the bank, I'm feeling kind of lazy tonight so I'm going to let this one slide." Every game counts, this was driven home last year when the wings were fighting for a playoff spot. Freak accidents happen. That injury that Modano suffered could have easily happened to any of our top guys. Games are a lot harder to win when your top guys are out, look at last year. Every game counts. Its human nature that players will have off nights. Bad bounces happen. But to think that a team goes onto the ice with the intention of half-assing it is asinine.

Every team did wear their color jersey at home back in the day. I think they switched to wearing whites at home during the 70's, not sure what the reason was. The NHL switched it back so that they could sell 3rd jerseys, which would be showcased at home games. Most hockey fans now only remember it being whites at home, so lots of people like it that way better. Personally, I like the color uniform at home because, like you said, every team has a white jersey. I wish they'd just do away with the 3rd jerseys though, its simply a money grab and there really hasn't been a single one that I thought was good. That is, unless you count the Wing's or Blackhawk's Winter Classic jersey, but those aren't really 3rd jerseys.
