Why? Statistics dictates that what happens in other series has absolutely no affect on what happens with this series... I posted this in another thread:

I voted 'yes' because I see little value in being negative. At the end of the day, this is entertainment and I'm hoping that the Wings will be able to make a history-making comeback. I've said it before, the Wings have the talent to get it done, I feel like there's something going on mentally that's preventing them from playing to their potential. The 4th game is always the hardest game to capture in a series. Look at what the Flyers were able to do last year coming back from a 3-0 deficit, and Chicago was able to force a game 7 against Vancouver this year. It can be done, no reason to believe that the Wings won't do the same. If the Wings lose the series, I hope they take it to heart and use that as the driving force to show up for every game next season.

Bit of an over-reaction, eh? I'd like to see Modano in, really just to show the guys that underperformance = get benched and replaced by someone else. Shake things up a bit.

He's done it a few times in the regular season, but more often than not he misses the shot. He may not be the most talented shooter, but I think in this case its more nerves than a talent issue.

This thread is great and all, but shouldn't these types of posts be in the "650 posts for game 3 victory" thread. Perhaps mods can lock/merge?

If helmer would have scored on that breakaway this game may have turned out very differently. It would have given the Wings some momentum to build off of. I don't understand why he always shoots at the goalie's pad on the breakaway. He doesn't try to fake, he doesn't go top shelf. I wonder if he's either too excited that he doesn't think, or he thought he had someone right on his tail. He had all the time in the world to get that shot off yesterday.

Playoff time really brings the trolls out. Did you create a LGW account just to complain in the GDT? Did you even watch the game on Friday? I can't imagine you did if you're willing to write them off at this point.

Also, with success comes the haters. The Wings and Wings fans have had targets on our backs for a while, because of what the team has been able to accomplish. Kind of goes with the territory, think of it as a compliment.

Whenever the Wings played the Canuck's in Vancouver, there were definitely enough Bert boos in the crowd that it was picked up by the broadcast. I will never understand why any Wings fan would hate on Fedorov. The guy played amazing hockey wearing the Winged Wheel, and he's done a lot of the city of Detroit. I think the only reason there's any negative sentiment against the Canuck's around here is because they've been picked to win the Stanley Cup since January. That, combined with some of the obnoxious fans that choose to post here, have made Vancouver the enemy. Some people are just more vocal about it than others.
