Yeah, loading up on forwards is indicating to me that we are not in the front running for Parise. I don't know how I feel about this signing.

Exactly my thoughts after my initial "WTF" reaction.

The only thing that makes sense about this is that we are definitely NOT getting Hudler back and this is to replace him. We offered Hudler $3.2 per year and he turned that down so we just got Samuelsson back for a bit less than what we wanted Hudler at.

Maybe he can stay healthy. ...Maybe.

There's been no speculation around an extension or anything so this leads me to believe it's to announce his retirement. Going to be a sad day tomorrow.

The goalie isn't the one to blame when the defense gives up breakaways and odd man rushes for no reason. Stuart was completely outplayed on the second goal, 3 of our players were in our crease facing the net on the first goal and Howard couldn't get over and the third goal was Kronwall/Filppula's fault. Howard was left out to dry, plain and simple. Could he make those saves? Yeah, but it's not entirely his fault that he didn't. He's been far from horrible.

I'm just glad to not be a Penguins fan right now. Giving up the lead in 3 straight games and dropping the first two at home.

What the hell is Franzen laughing about?

Ovechkin is eligible for the all star game despite his suspension and he's expected not to go and not get suspended.

There's probably more to discuss with a loss than with a win. I mean, you don't get to talk about how they can improve when they win 7-1. The only improvement they could have made is not giving up a goal 30 seconds into the game. That obviously pissed them off enough though. I wish this team would run the score up more often.

And that's why Conklin hasn't played in forever.

Only forward that is consistently impressing me tonight is Abdelkader. Smith has been pretty good on defense from what I've seen.

I've never been a big fan of Franzen, especially in the regular season. He's made of glass and is extremely streaky...so I wouldn't shed a tear if he was traded. I'd also like to see Cleary go at this point if he's going to continue to play like he has been in the first 10 games. Fun fact: Ville Leino and Dan Cleary have the same amount of points right now.

What is up with the Wings giving up all these odd man rushes? It's starting to get ridiculous. That's how we've been getting burned the last couple games and it doesn't seem like they're doing anything to fix it. Every time I looked at the TV last night, it seemed like Minnesota had a 2-on-1 in the first period. Howard and Conklin are not going to be able stop every one of those.

These announcers are brutal tonight. Constantly dogging Brunnstrom and then one of them says Helm is going to make the team. No s*** Helm is going to make the team.

Howard was not the reason we lost tonight. Most of those goals were lucky and 9 times out of 10 would not have gone in the net. One was scored by Emmerton, another was screened by two people battling in front of Howard...there really isn't much he could have done better.

Babcock was going to play Brunnstrom with Datsyuk but Dats is out with a sore back so he's keeping Brunnstrom out too, they'll probably play together in the next game.

The Red Team definitely had the depth on their side despite Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and Lidstrom being on the same team. At least from what I can see.
