  1. The man is in full-on Prince Fielder mode. We've got more cap space available to sign Parise and Suter than anyone else does. Illitch is going to get them. He wants one more championship. He wants it right now. He doesn't care if he has to overpay. He's going to top any offer any other team is going to make. It might not be what's best for us in the long run necessarily, but it is what's going to happen. Still 3.5 mil to mess around with.. 5. https://twitter.com/...806604953006081 http://www.startribu.../161074355.html Parise: Has narrowed his list to a "small select group" of teams, agent Wade Arnott said last night. A half-dozen sources that would know confirm the Wild is on it. Parise plans to talk to each team again today. He apparently hasn't yet made a decision and this could take some time today. Suter: If any decision comes today, I sense it'll be after Parise. From what I can gather, agent Neil Sheehy gathered all the info yesterday from teams and talked to him for awhile last night. He, too, narrowed his list to a grouping that includes the Wild. However, again from what I can gather, Suter didn't officially talk to teams yesterday and that should happen today and it will "likely" include the Wild. "We haven't decided yet [on a team]," Sheehy said. "Today is a new day and we will see what it brings." Again, this is a morning update. Things are fluid, change in a hurt, so this surely will be outdated soon.

    Brodeur may test open market

Per Darren Dreger... Interesting that he may be leaning towards leaving Newark. Makes you wonder if Parise would even consider returning if Brodeur isn't there...

    Parise Likely Out. Next Options

After reading multiple sources' opinions I have come to the conclusion that most likely Parise will be a Devil next season. In an interview on NHL Home Ice, Parise refers to Adam Oates' relocation as hurting ¨us¨ meaning ¨him¨ on the Devils next year and the future. I wouldn't want to sign him at the 9-10 million $ salary he seeks anyways, but I look at it as a slight problem for the Wings. Before reading the quotes above (see above) I figured that with Parise testing the market fully, other teams like the Rangers, Penguins, etc. would jump at this opportunity while we focus on better options suitable for our current situation and go after players like Semin who will be at discount because of his worst season as a Capital last year. I always assumed Parise would re-sign with the Devils so I wasn't worried, but happy that he would take attention away from players the Wings could steal. Now that he is expressing that he wants to play in New Jersey and calling the Devils ¨us¨, it creates a less hostile environment for teams trying to pursue him. Teams are realizing the fact that Parise is probably not the best option to throw all their chips in. I am looking at players like Semin, Schultz, Suter. Let´s say Kenny signs Suter and Schultz in a package kind of deal. Where Kenny entices Suter with playing with a young gun in Schultz and entices Schultz with playing along a proven defender in Suter. We can sign Semin for 4-5 million (given he can receive more elsewhere, but likes the idea of playing with Datsyuk), sign Suter for his 7 million, and get Schultz for his entry 925,000$ contract. Being realistic I do not believe it´s even 60% possible that Kenny will be able to pull this off, but this is in my perfect world. Hell, let´s pull a Miami Heat and sign Parise Suter Semin and Schultz. Use the pitch that look what Miami has done, imagine what we all could do kind of thing. (I wish) What do you all think?
  18. And signed at $5.25/yr for 5 years For Jordan Henry and a 5th rounder.

    Peter Mueller

http://blogs.denverp...ng-offer/10891/ 24 yrs old From Michigan 6 2" RH shot Plays right wing or centre Former No. 8 overall Avalanche have not qualified him and he will become a UFA. Injury issues the last few years. Would you guys consider this guy to be a perfect fit for what we need? I would LOVE this guy at 3rd line centre and move helm down to the 4th. This would provide 3 scoring lines. OR he could be a backup if we don't land Parise or Semin (we might not want him). Thoughts?
  20. Blue chip, top-4 offensive defenseman prospect expected to hit free agency this July. Anaheim has exlcusive rights initially for 30 days but it looks like he is expected to hit free agency. TSN's Bob McKenzie expects him to be the top UFA behind Parise and Suter this offseason. Even though we have a good offensive defenseman in Smith, a top level prospect would be good for our prospect pool. Any one have thoughts? NBC Sports PHT article Edit: just saw the topic in the prospects section, but might as well keep this here since not many people frequent that section of the forum.

    High End Trade Options

Now that Staal has rejected a 10 year deal from the Pens, things get interesting. Nash isn't the only high end player possibly on the trading block. Bobby Ryan's name has floated around too. It would be interesting to see how the individual value of the players pans out now that there are multiple options for teams to trade for. What do you think it would take for each of these guys (considering we trade for 1): Nash (6 seasons $7.8mill) Ryan (3 seasons $5.1mill) Staal (1 season $4mill) I'd say our top trading asset would be Filppula. Then others include Franzen, Abdelkader, Picks, Prospects. So if we miss out on Semin and Parise who would you prefer, and let's hear what your proposal would be?
