An aggressive 6'5 260 pounder that plays both forward and defense sounds awesome. I like that Babs loves him too, he's also a young kid who has had a lot of size for a few years, the discipline will come especially under Murray.

If Nyquist stayed in the AHL this past season he was the leagues leading scorer (the leader was Pirri with 76 games played & 75 points, Nyquist played 58 games and had 60 points). When was the last time one of our prospects was atop the AHL leader board? Gus also reminded me a lot of the magic man this year with the big club, the vision he has and way he moves out there, it seems like a no brainer that he's the real deal. THEN Tatar in the Calder playoffs lights it up nets 16 goals and 5 assists in 24 games showing we have two elite studs about to suit up (hopefully) for the Wings this coming season but for some reason we want to trade one of them? Pavs here for four years, Gus is my hope at the moment for taking the torch from him.

I wouldn't trade either one yet, we need to lock up Nyquist here and see what this year brings for those two with a full year on the team. We are finally getting into a situation to lose the redundant 4th line grinder situation...Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Franzen, Nyquist, Tatar, Brunner and Andersson looks like a solid foundation. I really hope we don't lose either one of these two kids, this team is build from the inside and that excites me the most...

I too would take briere if he was a good price instead of inking Cleary or Miller. But again I would rather create a roster of scoring lines with a little sand paper on every line i.e Bertuzzi, Toot's, Abby and Helm. Put the Datsyuks, Zetterbergs, Nyquists. Franzens, Brunners, Tatar's & Briere's around those 4 "grittier" guys and f*ck yeah off to the races.

I hope we ink him too. I also think that it's not impossible for Brunner to be offered as much as 4 million somewhere else. A raw goal scorer is rare, and after the season he just went through he could very well blow the roof off next year-or not, but with that being said I hope he takes a "discount" to stay with us instead of taking the $ and running to the islanders or flames for 5 a year or something retarded...

True this. Opie do you seriously think Datsyuk is not a once in a lifetime player? The median seems the be the league has never seen someone with Pav's hands, ever-and thats just about his stick handling... Pavel carried this team many, many times this past season (and seasons past) like only the Yzermans & Lidstroms can, with his timely goals, passes, hits & ninja like take away's. Just saying if we grow this type of player on trees we are one lucky group...And yes the Datsyuk fan club has arrived wooot wooot

People complain about Franzen's effort level game to game...I do like Penner none the less though, Id rather see a line of Z, Mule, Penner then Z, Mule, Flip thats for sure.

I think he played waaaaay better in the Chicago series oddly enough??!! Crazy. However I must say I truly think Clears is awesome, just at this point is not a top 6 player, do we need him around for a fourth liner? I'd rather sign Clears to a deal then Miller AS long as he stays off the 1st and 2nd lines. He's an all heart balls to the wall energy guy...Will never ever forget this...
