Did that guy even notice that he called him Jizz? That was funny and everyone should call him that.

Oh it's on now, I hope Bradley re-watch's that fight with Marc Staal again because Semin's got fists of fury he does so he'd better be careful...

Islanders Hosting Party to Celebrate Fight Night

It is very odd for the organization to be a part of it, entertaining game yes but achievement no...I wonder if Nabby will be attending? -
Such a shame this happened. I was just you tubing him a couple days ago, he was such a great fighter it's too bad he lost this battle. My best wish's go out to his friends and family as well as his fans everywhere.

I like the potential of this move a lot, I can't think of a better group of guys to be around. Good luck Fabian

I feel so bad for Crosby right now I hope he get's back out there soon time, such a horrible way to go down for so long.

I am sooo happy to see so many non voters, I couldn't do it either. I feel a lot of people here are also correct when talking of Hanks "new style" and considering he's number one choice for captain perhaps it's a longevity move. He bulked up more thus better in the harder to play places in both ends of the rink but lost a little speed, and he may not make as many jaw dropping moves as he used to but he also lead the Wings with points last year and played his highest number of games in any NHL season so far. His +/- was is worst ever as well (-1) but I think he's going to have a great season. Also I was told once when I was younger "don't ask a question you already know the answer to." This is one of those questions.

Yeah that would be awesome, but I almost know for sure now we are not getting Suter. When articles like "Red Wings interested in Suter" start popping up other teams start planing ways to f*** us. They have a while to do so as well which doesn't help either.

This is exactly how a 26 year old Howard was nominated for a Calder.

I think it was Bab's that wanted the top 6 forward and Holland thought we were fine up front and in need of defence, but i could be wrong. I know I want a top 6 forward though that's for sure. I also want to see and will route for Emmerton to do well as it's nice to see inside development paying off...But back on topic, how many invites are one team allowed to give? Because unless they have been talking the talks with someone under the radar and keeping there fingers crossed, I don't see it happening.

-Before hanging up the phone with ESPN.com, Orr asked us to pass on a message to Lidstrom. "Do me a favor and tell him how much I love to watch him," said Orr. "He's represented us so darn well.- That is one hell of a compliment that's for sure.

That's what I was thinking. I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure there was (minor) talks with a couple of our guys in recent years (abby, smith) about the way Red Wing's handle themselves off the Ice was there not? Even so I just can't help but think if Bab's went to Lids and Zetterberg with the same idea you wouldn't even hear about it, they would do it for a month as a team and move on. I've been a part of "experiments" like this for hockey as well as in a work setting too. As soon as a couple people dont participate it gives the whole thing kind of a meek out look and works in the opposite way. Perhaps when Laviolette saw it going this way he should have pulled the plug on the experiment and tried something else? Or maybe I'm looking way to much into something that was never even a problem? Weird scenario to me but alas it doesnt really matter now and I wish Carter and Richards the best of luck on there new teams. Unfortunately we will see them up close a lot more this year! -

I am surprised at almost everyone thinking it's not a big deal they didn't take part. Obviously people will get wind of a story and it will become a small game of broken telephone, but don't fool yourself there was indeed a story for the wind to blow. When the your new head coach (Laviolette) ask's "team" to take part in a "dry island" experiment there are 2 important things to consider... ... 1- The coach see's an issue (which could be a number of things in this scenerio) and thinks he has a solution through a team building exercise. 2- The Captain and Assistant Captian choose not to take part in the exercise displaying, imo, very juvenile and self righteous attitudes. If I was Peter Laviolette new to a dressing room and my two top players, not to mention "leaders" choose not to participate, I would have cursed those two f***ers under my breath for sure. -
Couldn't agree more. I can't believe something hasn't been done about it yet, it's so obviously wrong it's SCARY and stems into many issue's I wont get into on this thread...This must be so hard on the family, such an insane situation to be in, I feel so bad.

This is what I was thinking when I saw it, I thought for a few seconds it was a joke. I know the old one is a little dated/simple but please look at the habs, leafs, bruins & wings logos, simple yet fantastic!

I hear you for sure, but it doenst make much sense to think about. It's like the butterfly affect, imagine you take the Sedin twins out and put in our Euro twins (D&Z) in they totally change the "facet" of the game, let alone changing the whole team. Besides I thought we went over this, San Jose we pushed to game 7 this year, next year we knock em out. We sweep Vancouver-if they make it-and bingo f*** you Boston!

I agree completely with this. For now the black mark over Ericsson is more of a question mark. If he comes out (not likely but he could) and plays wise like in 09 and tough like he showed he can then Ill even be happy with him. Its a long shot but I'll for one have my fingers crossed!
-
I like what Holland has done as a whole here. He has kept cap space, has inked key players at key prices (Commy, White, Eaves, Miller, Conklin & I'll even say Ericsson although we all are on the fence a little) then he added a good core of minor guys as well (Joey Mac, Conner, Pyett, Exelby). When I look at the team on paper it looks real good, just jump onto a blueadams thread to see some lines for yourself. What we need here now imo is a quality scorer. Continuing with the same non-handcuffing approach he has so far I wouldnt be apposed to inking Teemu for a 1 year deal, he's coming off a 31g and 49a season. I've never thought about him every coming here until this morning so who knows, but he can score so thats my starting point. Edit: I give Holland an A as to the disasters he avoided by being cool hand luke in this years market. Good job Wings brass

lol. If you look back at that Howard/Crosby incident you'll probably notice how luck Crosby was that it was Jimmy who got to him first. An angry looking Bert was well on his way in. -
This is suppose to be a welcome back Conks thread and it's morphed into a Howard bashing thread? Ridiculous... ....That aside it's pretty awesome to have Ty back, I felt bad for him St. Louis. I really like the Howard/Conklin tandem, very good news for us.
-
That's what I was thinking, not to mention I was sad when Conks left he put up a great season here. He was near the top of the league in shut outs if I recall. I would love to have him back.

I love the fact Ozzys agent found out about the conference like everyone else lol. Kind of a funny situation, I also loved how Ozzy just texted him "meeting with Kenny". If he's done it'll be sad to see him go, anyone who doesnt agree the mans an absolute Icon in goal is ridiculous. Edit: Also super stoked about him developing our young goalies, I cant think of a better guy to do this, his calm would be great for that position.
