    Ladies equivalent to playoff beard

I just love the fact this thread is 12 years, 11 months and 2 days strong. Its really quite impressive, almost as much as how I dont recognize most the people on here then. Though I didnt join until a year after this, boy a lots changed around these parts

I agree Lefty. If they for some reason want a 24 team playoff format then those teams that sneak should consider that their lucky draw. In the end I still see the Wings being on the shortest end of the stick for some reason. I hope Im wrong

    Getting autographs in Colorado

-Curiosity had me Google translate the first paragraph- "Salgir foolishly underwent leaders by a swamp of which flora and winter. Selective ankle boots, prepositions, drunk individualization, leadership, articles, proto-continents from gluing and pampering suggested a fake employment of sober proportionality of synonymy and Brusilov aqueduct. In fits and starts, Yuryev’s gravity freezes like a control murya of our utopia. The dictatorship is forced to lead a cambial chant of the adventures of a porn daughter and father in the bathroom of an intentional peninsula at zero good. Fair friendliness as the root palmette of the state shepherd’s papyrology, which instilled porn budget really secularization into romantic crib porn, was analyzed by an open lunar nickname. Dokuda with that Truskavean fears block undivided causticity. Ominous districts are worried about the lynx, catfish, squirrel, owner, hercules and some all kinds of attributed condors." Interesting days indeed

    2020 Offseason

Our boy Mo sat down and talked with Bob Kaser, nothing too interesting but it’s better than nothing at this point. That and perhaps it’ll shake up this thread a little... https://youtu.be/DV7mNg_B6P8

    2020 Offseason

I agree its way too early to tell who will end up the better player, and Im also not arguing that center has more defensive responsibilities. I will argue that Zadina definitely improved his game from 18/19 and 19/20 though. Which is why he stayed up for an extended period of time once Mantha returned. In 18/19 he looked uncomfortable out there and starting as early as the prospect tourny of 19/20 he not only looked more comfortable on the ice, you could see his all around game was improving-though at this point I feel we're beating a dead horse... Im excited to see him (as well as Rasmussen & Svechnikov) a lot more this season to see how their games developed in Rapids.

Personally I just feel Barrie doesnt have a great hockey IQ, he makes terrible decisions all over the ice. He makes them in his own end when he tries to make (cringe worthy) passes causing turnovers and in the offensive end he does the same thing while shooting the puck. Id prefer to wait it out and sit tight for the right guy. If Pietrangelo wasnt 30 Id be all over him though

I would hope not more then just for creating conversation. Ive seen it on the hfboards, reddit, freep, hockeybuzz, like I said though most of these are to spark conversation. Its way too early to tell, but like we've said I have high hopes for the kid. He definitely seems to have the work ethic to be as great at he wants to be, which is the other thing thats a huge factor, te kid wants to be great. I just watched that video and thought the same thing. I watched Barrie in Toronto, no way would I want spend money on him...Lehner absolutely

    2020 Offseason

I agree in Zadina's first season his all around game was suspect, but last season his all around game was toted as being vastly improved. This was also the deciding factor in which he stayed in the lineup after Mantha returned from injury last December-Blash said he's staying up because he's showing a better all around game, especially from a defensive standpoint. With Zadina improving so much on his defensive play all while still putting up (better) points as well I think its safe to say Zadina is easily becoming the better player. Edit: I dont really get why this is even an argument. Should we not just be happy Zadina is even in this discussion after so quickly being labeled a bust?

    2020 Offseason

Both Kotkaniemi and Zadina spent time for each club this year totaling 49 games each combining AHL & NHL. For those 49 games Kotkaniemi had 21 points and Zadina had 31 points.

courtesy of Neo: Jesperi Kotkaniemi: 115 NHL games played. 42 points. 0.36 PPG average. Barrett Hayton: Only 20 NHL games played so far. 4 points. 0.20 PPG average. Filip Zadina: 34 NHL games played. 18 points. 0.53 PPG average. Oh but yes it is

I agree Nyquist got too passive and ended up not having the will Zetterberg did, but few have the will of that dude. Nyquist just looked like a beast when he arrived, kinda moved around the ice like a little water bug. His goal to tie it up against Boston when he blew by Chara and his overtime goal against Ottawa where he skated around the offensive zone twice and put it in will always stand out as my favs. If Zadina has the ceiling of Hossa then I think he should move into Yzermans house immediately like Crosby did with Lemieux, Im not saying his ceiling is that of a franchise player though just that if he could end up like a Hoss that'd be amazing. I do believe he'll fit the mold of a Tats/Goose, and agree if we cant get a stronger core sooner than later he'll be moving on for picks before too long
  13. One can only hope! I cant possibly think of another way to get familiar with the D than the fine folks at LGW
  14. Im not entirely sure Mathias Brome knows what he's getting himself into over here. Better not be bringing his swedish mafia BS of pearl, hoes and misogyny over this way

    2020 Offseason

Off topic but Ill never understand what happened to the Goose. He topped the AHL in points then came in and looked like a dynamo in the NHL, and yet another draft steal for us at 121 overall. 2013-2015 he was awesome then just fizzled out. I see Zadina being more of a Tartar scoring wise with a more complete game. I really liked what I saw of him in GR this year, is playmaking skills are understated and seems to have the knack of creating open ice.

    2020 Draft Thread

Thats what Im thinking. Though I was stoked when I first read it, obviously every other team not in equation was going to scream bloody murder at it. The lottery just hasnt gone our way at all in recent years so I certainly wasnt going to complain. Hopefully they announce a solution soon

    2020 Draft Thread

just wait until Yzerman pulls it off and we end up contenders before NJ and he spends 90% of his time b*tching about how Yzerman cheated the system blah blah blah....Thats my relishing moment

    2020 Draft Thread

I went through his twitter feed last night and the dudes so annoying. He spends SO much time complaining about Detroit tanking. We're not throwing games, our team is just that bad. Also why does he expect Yzerman to throw money at players (most likely aging vets) to come here and take ice time away from players the mans trying to get a grasp of? He needed/needs time to look at his team, and adjust his plan according to who he deems his core is going to be. You dont do this quicker by adding fill gaps, thats the Holland "as long as we make the playoffs" approach that got us this bad in the first place. Greg Wyshynski is a f*ck head with a more punchable face then Max Domi or Mathew Tkachuk, even with his stupid mouth gaurd hanging out

    LGW Buyouts

I would buy no one around here out. It’s the core that makes this place tick, or tock. Whatever it does it’s great

    Larkin vs Zetterberg

Good question. Larkin came in at a time when we were on a rapid decline so made the team with much less competition, which is why he was 18 compared to Z's 22. He also has missed out on getting the playoff experience which was huge for Z's development too. Zetterberg played on a hall of fame team, and his locker was strategically placed next to Yzermans. I don't think there is any doubt Zetterberg got a hell of a lot better paying with those guys, but he had the skill, will and poise to rise to the occasion. Had Larkin got to play with Datsyuk and Hull, then rip powerplays with Yzerman, Shanahan, Fedorov and Lidstrom and have 4 years of playoffs (and a cup) under his belt his development would most certainly be a much quicker process.
  21. We also signed Malte Stromwall back in February and hes a winger too. Apparently Stevies going odds by numbers here.
  22. Looks like he likes to have a good time https://youtu.be/BKIivM9wB-Q
  23. We also signed goaltender Victor Brattstrom today too to a 2 year entry level deal. I don’t know a thing about him other than he’s 23... https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/212526/victor-brattstrom
  24. well I mean if he can get a hatty in his first NHL game, carry the wings in the playoffs for a run and be a legit 1st line guy Ill call it a win.

If we don't win the lottery

I also read that they are going back to the old format for this draft, and it was Bob McKenzie so it has some weight. Only one winner and cant climb more than 4 spots, putting the Wings no less then 2nd pick...I'd be very happy if this is the case *edit: he also said early not late June-Im hoping they release this information soon
