This is true, and to it seemed like the pressure of last season got to him with the wings, and only wings fans knew what he could do...Now he has captured the attention of NHL fans everywhere, NOW Ville has pressure lol we shall see how he does. Best of luck Leino

I feel a little bad for Williams (just a little) because this time around he had A LOT of bad luck. Unfortunately for him the little time he was here he showed very, very small amounts of great hockey with many, many amounts of WTF are you doing. (did ANYONE think he was getting signed anyway?)

Through his career in Detroit Cleary has averaged 14 goals and 20 assits a season. Considering where he came from thats great, considering his age and price now? His money could be used elsewhere but I say keep him, he should have a lot better season, all of them should.

Yes Ive thought about it, and I really think if we re-signed Bert and went with Bert-Flip-Mule on line 2 then Zetterberg-Datysuk-Afinogenov on line 1 then we'd be in pretty good shape. Silly I know

What would be AWESOME is not a Downey/May type player for around 1mil or under but a Mike Richards or Jarome Iginla type player for 4 to 6 mil. We will have to wait until Lids is done but I think a player that can score, hit and fight is what we need.....you know like GORIDE would do.

ahahahahaha at everyone involved here (in a good way) great to see everyone (almost) standing up for this team I myself though have questioned Holmer coming back this year, and the only way I would have not have re-signed him was if we signed Afinogenov(who I thought was available as a rfa but now I dont know?) instead, and thats a gamble too! As far as Lids and Holland? cant really argue having either of them around as long as they want to be here!

Bingo! Spot on my friend, Holmer could get alot on the open market. Its great he's staying, especially from an attitude/loyalty point of view in that they obviously are a team. I just read a new topic (I just got home a did a quick scan and came here first lol) that said Bertuzzi either stays with Wings or retire...Now that is incredible because there are probably a few teams that would like him after this past season. Though he wants to play with core group and thats freakin sweet. I love they have this connection and I hope he signs here! Im starting to believe in these guys! (again)

Im STILL pushing for a line 2 of BERTUZZI-FLIPPULA-FRANZEN, this line will score alot of goals and has great size. As for Line 1 I think Dats and Z should be together for sure as our line 2 would be great but who is on there wing? I think Hudler would be awesome, the sheer playmaking ability of that line would be Fantastical. Not to mention all 3 have pretty good one timers As for Holmer, as much as I love him if he is not just a PP specialist I would like to let him go. Lines 3 and 4 are both pretty set, just need to see who's name is there lol we have alot of great 3rd and 4th liners. We just need that scary 1-2 combo. (which I strongly feel we achieve with these 2 lines) PS: Am I the only one who thinks Holmstroms 2.3(or whatever it is) could be used to pick up a great offensive player? We could get Afinogenov straight up or by not signing say Bert we could throw a pretty good deal at Marleau...just sayin

I think that its a little more then a fresh start. Sammy played with the Sedin twins, HELLO! No wonder he scored 30 goals, and Leino playing with Briere and Gange. Not going to say much about Kopecky because I think he played pretty good for us, and wasnt he benched before this series? However this is why I believe Hudler gets a shot at line 1, if Sammy can net 30 with the twins, Happy can net 30 with Z&D.

I love Bert and always have, and at 36 he's not looking at anything long term, and unless we could land an Afinogenov or a #2 pick I say Keep him. Him paired with Franzen and Flip make an awesome 2nd line, and enables us to pair Z&D back together
