I'm not one to push a panic button after 2 games. I understand many opinions where if we still have these issues in December, as some have suggested, then we can start bitching. Fellow Wings fans, if we still have these issues in December, it will be a looooong season. I can lay off of the goaltending because the D looks miserable. Howard showed exactly what Howard has. I'm not expecting more, but I would like to be pleasantly surprised. I do think he will continue to underachieve and lose his place to Larsson or a seasoned backup come trade deadline time. Lebda on the ice for all even-strength goals against, hmmm. . . I could understand this if it were a rookie and it's just a learning curve, but Lebda has experience. If this continues, I say bring up Kindl and give him a taste of the NHL. Typically, Wings come out strong in Oct/Nov and set the tone. It is not good for this team to play catch up early in the year. That, along with the Olympics, will kill our legs and, IMO, lead to an early end to the season. Put the puck on the net. Enough with the extra pass. The Blues threw the puck at the net and beat us. . . TWICE. My final ***** is at the coaching staff. If you want me to believe you learned anything about last year, show me the improvements/changes that were made on the D and PK, our two worst categories last reg season and post-season. Here's hoping the Wings shove it up the Hawks ass on Thurs!

Is it just me or does this team still have the problems of last year? PK is atrocious and the D looks really bad. Weren't these the 2 issues that were to be addressed the most? Goaltending is weak right now. Where was the intensity we kept hearing coming from camp? I laughed at some predictions that had the Wings 6th or 7th in the West. After watching these 2 games, they'll be lucky to make the post-season. How do you dump twice to a team you beat 5 of 6 last year? Tkachuk, in a limited role, owned the Wings. Start asserting your presence, Wings. Every one will push you around all year if you don't. I am very disgusted with the weak effort once we had the lead. . . AGAIN!

For all the talk about focusing on defense, that 5 min lapse in the 2nd cost the Wings the game. In addition, it's about time this team starts smelling blood and going for the throat. We tie it up and get a 5 on 3 and do nothing with it. I'm sorry, but if you have a 2-man advantage for 1:20, you should score. Too many attempts at the extra pretty pass. Put the puck on the net! Defense needs to step up big time today. Osgood will be fine as long as his D doesn't allow odd man rushes every other shift.

Rumor has it that Dish and Versus agreement is up in January. I doubt Comcast will think twice about trying to bend over another company. I wonder if the NHL's response to that will be to put a letter on their website telling hockey fans to now contact Dish. They seem to ignore that if the rumor is true and the DirecTV issue is not resolved, no satellite provider in the US will be broadcasting national games. What a way to NOT get exposure for your product. The best we can hope for is (sorry, have to bring Crosby into this ha ha) Cindy whines that his family are DirecTV subscribers and can't watch him on Versus. Bettman will get up from his knees and finally call Comcast because whatever Cindy wants, Cindy gets.

Finished them in 5 games without Lidstrom and Datsyuk. I think Draper was also out. The media can do all they want about coronating this team as the new powerhouse in the West, but they haven't proven to me they can do anything but get slapped like a ***** by big brother Detroit.

I've had itr with the Sitsburgh lovefest. They will make the playoffs, but I see them no better than a 5 seed. They might squeak by in Round 1 but they will get bounced by hungrier, meaner teams in Round 2. They do not have the depth that will be necessary to return to the Finals. Their D and goaltending will be the big question marks. I am so looking forward to the Philly games. Please let Crosby skate towards Pronger with his head down. I can picture it already ala Kronwall on Havlat.

I agree that the choices were slim to none in coming back from the lockout once ESPN waved their dick in front of Bettman. Versus has been an OK alternative. However, I find it hard to believe that the NHL did not see this coming. They either turned a blind eye/deaf ear to the situation or were truly in the dark regarding the main broadcast outlet in the US (doubtful). However, if there were any type of business savvy remaining in the NHL front office, alternate plans, ideas, etc, should exist. It's not just DirecTV being held hostage by Comcast, so is the NHL. Their product loses a huge amount of exposure because Comcast has alienated the largest satellite TV company in the US. I've said it before, ultimately, the advertisers will ***** loud enough and force Comcast to drop their outrageous demands. I do not see DirecTV budging, especially since they are taking the "we have our customers best interest in mind" approach by offering discounts and free services.

I'm going out on a limb and saying 30. Z will make the perfect pass at the perfect time and Bertuzzi will be the benefactor. I am really excited about the lines they have put together. This will be fun to watch.
