I don't know if anyone remembers last year, when everyone was out and Smith finally got a sniff of PP time and they went 3-4 and then changed back suddenly. I didn't understand it then and I don't now. Why is this talented kid who seemingly has put his gaffes behind him and playing so well that Kindl is looking like an NHL defenseman, why is he not being utilized more?

Lol I'm referring to the condfusing coaching moves. Such as switching Smith and Quincey which has worked for 3 goals against since.

Stat of the season so far. When Smith os over 20 minutes we are undefeated. When he isn't we have lost every game.

Part of me thinks he stuck Q with Dk because of the contract that Q got in the off-season. I mean that's the only logical explanation becuase before that Smith and Dk were shutting down teams

Just remarkable that Quincey is still on the second pairing. Does a great job keeping the front of the net clear but has no puck moving skills whatsoever. Maybe you'll get traded to someone who actually appreciates your talents Smith

Yes Babs keep playing 65 with 27. They are now a combined minus 4 since being paired together.

Babs is a smart coach and cannot ignore the results forever. At some point Smith and Dekeyser will be back again.

Don't lump Smith in with Kindl. Watch the games Smith has been the best dman so far this year.

If you continue to do the same thing and expect a different result, that is the definition of insanity. That's also the Red Wings powerplay and defensive pairing philosophy.

I'll say it right now. Until there is a change in the defense pairings, this will happen. Smith should be getting top minutes by his play and again he was plus 1 tonight. They will continue to lose games like this.

Have you watched the game? Quincey has consisntently lost the puck in his own zone and generally hasn't been crisp at all.

I blame whoever is making the d pairings. With out a doubt Smith has been our best Dman and where is he in crunch time. You have Quincey whoes turned the puck over all night and all the sudden Dekeyser don't look that good. Someone wake the f up.
