Maybe I'm biased but again the most steady defenseman has been Smith, yet he sits on the third pairing and is making Kindl look like an NHL dman

I'm talking about B Smith being paired with Kindl. Smith has been the best player on the ice for the Wings and the other five have given the puck away time after time. -

I hate to keep harping on it but what did Smith do? Clearly hes been the best defensemen for us. It's amazing he's not getting top minutes. -

Of course 93 Fedorov also had Yzerman Lidstrom and others. I like Gus but no one and I mean no one electrified the game like Sergei. -

More time for Smith, I know everyone is in love with Dekeyser and rightfully so, but there is something about this guy that tells me he's going to be a stud. His puck-moving was great last night and did a great job of keeping the crease clean. -
Kronwall played a ton more than E and look at the result. They appear to be realizng that E is a shutdown defender at best.

What does Smith have to do to get PP time? Hes already plus 3 tonight with 2 great outlet passes

Anyone else think Smith should be on the PP just for his puck handling ability alone? Forget his shot and hockey sense, but the guys Babs is running out there cant even get the puck past the blue line with control half the time.
