now that we are without Franzen AND Filppula...our lines are going to need a shake.... maybe something like this? Leino, Datsyuk, Williams Cleary, Zetterberg, Bertuzzi Holmstrom ,Draper, Abdelkater May, Helm, Eaves I'm LOVING that 4th line by the way....those guys played their ASSES off tonight any other ideas?

thanks goodness its only 6 weeks...and I bet he is back earlier than originally reported we will have him back in early December...mark my words but for now we just need to step it up and play like we did in that 3rd period last night...and we will be fine

after watching this first period in Edmonton...I am willing to try ANYONE.... Howard just doesnt look ready to be an NHL goalie and Osgood is having another rough start the goaltending situation will need to be addressed sooner than later

does anyone else agree that the May, Helm, Eaves line has been the only line doing anything out there? we really need to get this goaltending thing dealt with...bring up Larsson and see what happens...Howard does not look like he is ready to play I still think the Wings will get it together after that terrible period and come out flying and win this game

yeah the team will be in great shape when Franzen gets back but your lines look wrong to me.. they will probably look more like this Franzen, Datsyuk, Holmstrom Bertuzzi, Zetterberg, Cleary Leino, Filppula, Williams Helm, Draper, May (Abdelkater, Maltby, Eaves) interchanging and by then I believe the wings will have tried brining up and trying out differenent guys to play with Big E on the 3rd d-pairing Lidstrom, Rafalski Kronwall, Stuart Ericcsson, ( Kindl, Delmore, Lebda, Meech) and if we are reeeeally lucky...Lilja just my opinion

MLIVE.COM: George James Malik dismisses recent rumors suggesting the Detroit Red Wings might move goalie Jimmy Howard to the Toronto Maple Leafs for picks and prospects or offer up Ville Leino and Justin Abdelkader to the LA Kings for Alex Frolov. Malik notes the Wings have invested plenty of time to develop those three and aren't about to dump them now for quick fixes. Personally i think there is NO WAY they ship Leino and Abdelkader to LA for Frolov, that is just rediculous. However I would like to see them aquire him if the price is right. If the Wings actually DO go after Frolov what do you think the trade will be and do you think it is worth it? I propose... Howard + Meech + 2nd pick for Frolov + Ersberg

if you would have read the original article, you would know that this was reported from MLIVE and that the frolov trade wasnt MY idea...I was just wondering if anyone else thought it was a good idea and if so, who might be involved in the trade. And as far as I can see, the trade I proposed would not ONLY benefit the Wings because Frolov is not playing all that well for the Kings, has been a healthy scratch a few times already this season and obviously needs a change of scenery. Giving up a 2nd rounder, a versatile d-man that can also play forward, who also needs a change of scenery, and swapping back up goalies for a non-producing Frolov, isnt that one sided... If you didnt think it was a good idea thats all you needed to say...none of your petty remarks were needed. So next time maybe come up with an idea of your own and save your "homer glasses" crap.

everyone wanted holmstrom traded....but hes playing like a mad man everyone wanted maltby scratched...but hes scoring timely goals everyone wanted Osgood's head on a pike...but hes playing great (other than the buffalo game, in which the whole team just sucked overall) Ive heard everything in the last couple days from getting new coaching staff to trading star players and may I remind you that it has only been 6 games?? and this team has a TON of adversity to overcome with the losing of so many players, having to fill those voids with rookies and free agents and haveing injuries to star players such as franzen and datsyuk. Every season is not going to be perfect and you have to realize that these little speed bumps at the begining of the season are very typical of a team that has had this many changes. it pains me everytime I come on here and read about how much the team sucks just because they are not off to a typically great start...but an ok one. You guys act like they should be 82-0 and its just not going to happen. Just relax and have a little faith in them! I mean its only been 6 games! and now they have won 3 of them. Just relax and let this team start to gel which I think they are generally starting to do and before you know it they will be right back where they need to be. Red Wings for Life
