  1. Most King's fans think that Johnson was their best defenseman down the stretch last season.
  2. The trade is essentially trading Stuart for a younger, better, version of himself. In the process you gain much needed cap space.
  3. The Kings and the Wings seem like natural trading partners. I think a trade similar to this benefits both teams in the long run.
  4. Stuart and Hudler for Johnson? I think a defenseman would need to be moved either way. We're way too close to the cap for comfort and we have $9 million dollars spent on our second D pairing alone.
  5. Both are RFAs and both are probably going to get $2-$3 million a season. Johnson is a hometown kid and is apparently a head case, depending on who you ask. The Kings are deep on D and just signed Scuderi, so they can afford to move JJ. Any interest? We lose a forward but gain a young defenseman with TONS of potential, finally playing for the team he has always wanted to.
