i've been trying like hell to keep my zen-like calm throughout this season, but its finally shattered and i think i agree with you....whoever/whatever...but SOMETHING has to change! i say this not from a place of panic, but rather from the basic ability to use my eyes and ears and comprehend the input. that being said, those zany cats from "the obstructed view" seem to've pinpointed the root cause. a drunken lebda dropping lord stanley's cup at cheli's chilli back in summer '08. now, i know that "logically", that can't be why our defense is skating like they're on quaaludes, or why flipper can have 14 shots in a game and not score...."logically" those are unrelated. i ask you....have the hockey gods ever shown signs of being logical? so yeah....ship off whoever, shake things up! but can we pleasepleaseplease start with lebda? at this point, i'm not above losing whatever trade value he might have in favor of a hockeyplayer sacrifice to the gods...

i was really pulling for him, too...and i agree there will be many here cursing this move when he starts to live up to his potential (and i truly believe he will)! its just an awful set of circumstances for the team this year, and the organization just isn't in a position to play hockey mommy to him. anyway, since i haven't officially said it, i wish you nothing but luck, ville (unless you're playing us)!!!

i'm not 100%, but i think it could be a prelude to shedding both of them! in fact i'm gonna call it. i hesitated the other day during the buildup to kovalchuck's trade (i "knew" it was the devils around noon that day, but held my typing tongue for fear of looking like an idiot), but not this time... mebdeech will be gone before the end of the break. unless lilja makes it back for the last game prior to the break, in which case they're gone sooner. nothing to back it up (not even cap #s), its just a hunch. but its the same kind of hunch i ignored for some lunch on devils/kovalchuck day...so i'll let the cap experts explain it all. its just too bad he probably won't play for us today...with kronner out, we could use the big body!

lose lebda, keep meech. defensively interchangable, and like everyone else said there's more offensive upside with meech. that he's cheaper is just a bonus. the ugly-l's (lebda/leino) will be gone from us very, very soon.

Lebda-Meech normally, my first reaction to this would be agony/terror, but meech scoring last night, coupled with lebda thinking he's a gee-dee forward anyways has me thinking "blunder twin powers - activate! form of...unexpected offense!" well, one can hope anyway...

thinking back to his playoff appearances (and goals) last year, i can agree that he's mac-esque in that his goals were timely, clutch tallies. also, i remember earlier this year when he was sent down in favor of brad may...after he came back, didn't he seem a little scrappier to you guys? as if he was playing a bit rougher to say "hey...i can give you what brad may gives you too!!". okay, so he's not there yet...but i can definitely see him being that kind of role player in the years to come, and possibly even the best of all who play that role. yeah...he's gonna be a pretty damn good aby. shades of d-mac, shades of may, but thoroughly aby...including a much greater scoring potential!
