Yeah I know they matter. I said that so I wouldnt get a bunch of Americans in here talking about their medal count like in all the other threads. I'm not looking down on it I'm saying gold is more important. After all the bashing Canada took on these forums that win is so refreshing. We weren't evens upposed to make it past Russia according to everyone on here that wasnt Canadian and now everyone is rattled because the Canadians have something to say after they just won the gold. Doesn't make sense to me.

Hmm you seem to be forgetting Langenbrunner hacking away for about 5 seconds after the whistle when the puck was behind Luongo. That easily could have been a slashing penalty and the whistle should have went 5 seconds earlier. I'm not complainging because the refs let them play both ways and called it fair both ways.

I dont get what youre arguing? Youre one of the Americans on here that won't let Canadians enjoy our record and one of the reasons I made a thread like this. Don't get me wrong I pretty much always agree with what you say on this site and are a poster that I don't mind but I think we just have huge national pride.

Even if the states only got the bronze I'm sure Miller would have recieved MVP

I also thought the play of Nash should be recognised. The central division was really well repsresented at these games. Rafalski, Kane,Nash,Toews,Keith Seabrook. Shows how strong the diivision really is.

Agreed. I thought opening this thread that it was going to be a bunch of people bitching about teh refs but I'm glad not many see it this way. By far the best game of the tourny was played tongiht and the refs played a part in it by letting them play.

Hopefully his play carrys into the regular season!

No i know bronze and silver are great but when it got brought up in another thread every american in there was tlaking about how huge their medal count is and how we're just the little brother still and blah blah blah. We set a record for most golds at the olympics, pretty much the biggest thing you can win in sports and its being downplayed in other threads as if its not that great. Fact of the matter is, we did win the most gold and its something for every Canadian to be proud of in here. It shows the strides our country is making in sports especially compared to the last few olympics and its great to see. The states have dominated most sports for a long time and it seems alot of posters dont wanna give credit to Canada in here where credit is due. I'm not saying everyone but theres plenty that don't.

Well theres already been about 15 posts in here so it looks like it? but if not, then just let the Canadians post in here, I know theres plenty of posters from Canada on the site, this thread was ade for them.

How many Canadians were on Anaheim's cup team or Pittsburg last year? Canadians don't care about how long its been since a teamf rom our country has won the cup thats just stupid to say. An american olympic hockey player plays for the leafs maybe thats why theyre losers?

I think maybe the advertising for Crosby is alot bigger and noticeable in the States because all the talk about him being God and stuff I just don't see it. Canadian broadcasting pumps up Ovechkin alot more in my eye. TSN talks about him non-stop whereas Crosby yeah is advertised but not to the point of hatred. I dunno maybe I just don't notice it maybe other Canadians could chime in but I'm starting to think that the NHL advertises Sid way more South of the Border.

I dont get how people can say they wanna see Canada lose when theyre Canadian just because of the players on the team? If you go for the states you have people like Kane or Kesler a couple classless dbags. Finland has jarko rutoo I'm pretty sure(?), allt hese teams have guys that are hateable I don't see why Canada should have an exception maed to be cheered against.

The under 18 and 17 championships Canada doesn't send a team they send province teams. I remember watching one of them and the USA beat team Ontario for the gold not team Canada so I wouldn't feel too big about that. The world juniors this year you won, congrats but how many eligible players did you have already in the NHL? Canada had like 9 The states aren't much younger then Canada. Canada has an older defense but all of the forwards except for Iginla and Morrow are just coming into their prime. The states are a force to be reckoned with but Canada is still the place for hockey.

You guys are getting to be tops in teh world ill give you that. But you won't match Canadas development and depth anytime soon. Sure you guys are gettings ome superstars, Parise and Kane but Team Canada is pretty much all superstars. I think America has heart though alot of it, so come 2014 they'll be a team to reckon with

If everyone just sits back and tihnks about it why do we hate guys like Getzlaf? He's one of the most clutch, best playoffs performers in the game. Do we hate him because he amost single handedly beat us out last year or what? I personally get behind every player when they put the leaf on their jersey(as long as it isnt blue) and cheer until I can't. Yeah Pronger is a prick to play against but when he's playing for my country he's a prick to the other countries, not mine. Yeah I don't like how much everyone in the media goes nuts for Crosby but he doesn't ask for that its not his fault I'm the first to critisize how he hasn't done much this olympics but he's still got a leaf on so I'm going nuts if he scores a goal. Not really no. This website had the biggest boner for Ovechkin, Malkin,Kovalchuk and Datsyuk. They didn't realize they had no defense prettymuch and an average goaltender at best. The biggest lack the Russians had was heart. They just didn't wanna win by the looks of it.

Look at this websit prior to the Rusia game and see who was talking smack. All it was was tlaking about how slow our D is and how the russian offense was gonna bend us over like big black Bubba at the county jail in the prison. Didn't happen so its our turn to gloat.

Do you not watch these forums? Everyone was talking about how OV was going to lead russia to the gold and they were gonna steam roll Canada and now all us who knew it wasn't gonna happen are going to have our fun.
