PLayer has his head at your shoulders level, not looking at all and puck has been gone for a few seconds. He's also a player who plays on the edge all the time. I'm pretty sure he was hitting to hurt.

I thought with the world juniors coming up we could do a thread to keep track of how our prospects are doing in the tourny. Tatar seems like the one to watch this tourny. He should be lighting the lamp constantly. Lashoff is supposed to be on the USA top D pairing ths year. I'm pretty sure Nestrasil is playing for the Czechs but I'm not positive so if someone could confirm this or not would be great. Anyways if I'm missing anyone sorry but you guys can comment and fill me in on who i forgot.

Funny you should ask this today since I just got one for christmas. I'd say its pretty coffee tablish. Its called What it means to be a red wing. Its by Kevin Allen. Not alot of pictures but there are some and its classy looking as hell.

I wouldn't say hate, I would call it lack of want. Most of us Wings fans on this site are tired of seeing small europeans. I'm sure he's a good player I just don't want the wings to pick him. I would rather see a 6' or larger NA scorer drafted. Thats something our team lacks and something Granlund couldn't provide.

Brown's hit got him ejected from the game and a 5 minute major for interfernce I'm pretty sure. The officials didn't see it as legal. ANd to say that hit wasn't a goon play on a defenseless player is absurd. Brown wasn't making that hit to seperate Huds frmo the puck, he was hitting to hurt.

I'm not sure about the stats but I was watching the preview show tonight(like every year after xmas supper) and Bob Mackenzie did the top 5 players to watch this year that wenre't canadian. The list included Jordan Shroeder and that Larson defenseman from Sweden who is the next big thing apparently, but number 1 to watch this year in Bob's eyes is none other then our own Tomas Tatar I guess the LGW community isn't the only ones taking notice of how great this guy is.

No i see what you mean, I just mean comparing a guy like Ferraro from last year to this Finnish guy Landon is a for sure NHLer he has the wheels, size and grit to play as a 3rd liner if he has too but has the chance of being a scoring line player. This small finnish player however most likely wont make it unless its on a scoring line. At 5'9 he's almost guaranteed to not have grit. This is what I mean by he better be absolutely tearing up the league to use a 1st rounder on him which are so rare.

I disagree, when someone is bleedingall over the ice like that the red wings are gonna tae notice ofthat. If they notice Brown on the ice with them and hear footsteps coming when they have the puck theyre gonna move it a little quicker or make a play maybe they wouldn't have made ebfore. Its the same as when Kronwall steps up on a winger breaking out of the zone, you think that guy is going to try to get his head up, take his time and make a tape to tape pass if he thinks Kronwall is comign at him again? I sure as hell don't.

ANd that pretty much sums up why I wouldn't have faith in the KHL guys. Theyre going to have to play on the small ice against guys like Mike Richards, Shane Doan, Brendan Morrow, Iginla, Perry, Getzlaf or Nash. Good luck adjusting to that in a few games then trying to handle those guys on the small ice.

European League doesn't translate to NHL talent. If you're 5'9 you better be absolutely tearing it up to expect to make the NHL as a quality player. Thats where a solid NA draft pick comes in handy. You knnow what you're going to get 9 times out of 10 with an average sized NA draft pick in the first round. A 5'9 finnish player doesn't exactly have sure fire NHLer written all over him especially when he has 5 goals so far this season.

I agree I just don't beleive the KHL is that special. Sure theyh ave good players but they aren't the likes of NHL guys. The guys in the NHL play a tougher game then in the KHL and still show off their skills. Would these skilled KHL guys look as pretty out there as they do now playing against Pronger or someone like that. I personally doubt it. Isn't Hudler tearing it up in the KHL right now?

I think gooning it up at the end of a game does send a little bit of a message. You don't think Mike Brown hitting Hudler was in the back of Jiri's mind everytime he was on the ice with Brown? People in the NHL are people too, they aren't super heros they can be inimidated. And yes I agree 100% I would love to see Abs starting pounding people, he's shown he's capable and has had oppurtunities. I think its just a matter of time until he gets comfortable up here and starts fighting more. With the physical style he plays people are going to be challenging him left and right once he makes a name as a big hitter and I look forward to see how he handles it.

Not to the extreme that 1997 did but it could have done something slong the same lines of that. And Sharp's actions were never in question to be as bad as the draper incident. If thats what you were arguing that entire time then you really wasted your time preaching to the choir.

Well too be completely honest... Lidstrom is a soft euro theres no way around it. He just happens to be one of the best soft euros of all time to lace up the skates. And if youc an get a player that can score goals and is tough thats better then just scoring goals.

I'm pretty sure this argument was that the Kronwall hit was the closest thing to a cheapshot intended to injure someone in our series last year. I proved that you were wrong. I have also stated I know it wasn't nearly as bad as the Draper incident. But also if us fans would've seen how it happened and Lidstrom dropped to the ice immediately after instead of finishing the season then having surgery, I think we would have all felt much differently about Sharp. If you don't have a little hate for Sharp after what he did to our captain, there is seriously somewthing wrong with you.

First off, you can't prove he didn't target his testicles. Even if he wasn't going for them he was still trying to spear him in the gut pretty damn hard if Lids needed surgery after the incident. Second, let me spear you in the balls then just say sorry after your operation and see if you're not mad at all anymore. The pope would probably be pissed about that for god's sake. Third, Lidstrom is a classy guy that wouldn't want a war of words in the press so of course he's going to accept the apology. Fourth, are you in the dressing room? You don't know how pissed any of them actually were and what they say in the press rarely reflects how any of them feel. I'm not saying the Sharp incident is as bad as Lemieux because it clearly wasn't but it was stilla dirty play and much worst then Kronwall on Havlat. A pro hockey player can't just accidentally shove his stick into a guys sack hard enough to require surgery. They are pros there had to be some intent there, its not like he sneezed and accidentally shoved his stick between Lids legs.

Yeah but this far into the season regardless of who he's playing with or against he should have more then 6 points. If that line did so well ealrier in the season he should've had that many points in about 7 or 8 games tops. Flip was putting together decent point totals same with Williams. Maybe they had the chemistry not Leino. You could put Helm on that line and I bet he would have more points then Leino.

Was it not last year against chicago where our captain, one of the greatest defenseman to ever play the game and cleanest players in the game almost had his testicles removed by some idiot?

Fixed that for you. It doesn't come down to Bert of Hudler. It comes down to Hudler or depth. We couldn't have got Bert Eaves and Willy if Hudler stuck around. Huds is not more effective then those 3 combined.

Eva has a hard on for Hudler. Seriously Bert has been playing great give the guy a break and Hudler is a soft, ineffective and small euro. Thats the truth. If he doesn't wanna be here good riddance we don't miss him
