So whats the deal on Piche? Can he scrap or is he just a big hitter?...
-
Yeah a Stortini without the hugging but Stortini has been better this year. Konopka fights alot of middle weights like Chris Thorburn
-
With this scrappy of a line up I find it hard to beleive that one of May, Janik, or Newbury don't go someone tonight. Maybe a middleweight tilt of Newbury and Downie or Konopka and May. Konopka fights alot but isn't the toughest opponent I like May's chances
-
He tried going with Stortini but the refs got in there. I'm not sure what it is but one things for sure. If he hasn't fought for this long there's gotta be a good tilt coming up soon
-
Amen to that. I only wish that they would show off their toughness a little more. May is the only one that has been doing much of it.
-
Hmm a temper and a little emotion. Gotta love it and its something this team really lacks. And you also gotta love those old Shanny style shoulder pads he's wearing.
-
Stuart wouldn't fight if his life depended on it it seems to me and I wouldn't mind Ericcson doing a bit more crease clearing and face washes at least. He's a big, tough 5th defenseman, he should be doing some of this.
-
Vandermeer hasn't been very active this year but usually he'll go with the best of them.
-
He's been playing great but there are so many better defenseman, Canada is just really deep and Weber is much better then Stuart for the record.
-
A solution for this could be Janik in and Lebda out. Janik looked good when he was up here.
-
Wings win 4-1 May and Crombeen go. Ericcson has to go someone for running the goalie and we see a good, rough game. Abdelakder laying bodies all game
-
That wrist shouldnt affect his game too much, I mean all he does is pass. Its not like he needs his wrist for a wrist shot or something, he doesnt take them anyways haha
-
Hopefully won't be long now til he's in the line up.
-
It was Zumaya and he was hurt for the world series too if I rememebr correctly.
-
I can vouch for him here seeing as our hometowns are literally 20 minutes away. I live in Wallaceburg and play hockey in Chatham all the time. Our local Jr. C team regularly plays to almost full capacity and if you knew Walaceburg you would see this as a big deal. Its probably one of the poorest towns in Ontario.
-
Exactly. Canadians would still go out and watch their local Jr. C teams, B teams and make the journey to watch Jr A teams. How many people down in Florida (2 NHL teams) could honestly say that hockey would get watched their if the NHL was removed. Canada however would be watching hockey all teh time regardless of the NHL.
-
He's proven he can definitely keep us in games and be a reliable back up for sure. 15 games is hard to judge this on but now he seems to have alot of confidence compared to early in the season and its showing. Now the people who are saying future Vezina, 15 games is not nearly enough to judge that. For sure a nice save on that penalty shot last night though.
-
No its not bull. Without Canada there would be no game known as hockey period. This alone makes Canada more important to hockey. Culture-wise and just plain being fans and love for the game, the States isn't even remotely close to Canada. So keep dreaming but hockey will never be the state's game. Too bad you weren't born in Canada then you could really call it your game.
-
No Canada, No hockey, no NHL. This is why Canada is the number 1 hockey country, without Canada there is NO hockey. Is that that hard to understand? I'm sure Canada could support a pro league without the states it just wouldn't have as many teams as the NHL. You know what I say is true.
-
Its funny how your thread was just awful and everyone just shot down your idea so now youre making stupid comments like this just because youre bitter. You were told that basically everyone knows Canada is the hockey country, so accept defeat and stop saying things that are making you seem even stupider.
-
The Flyers are one of the top teams in the east and pretty much have everything you could want on a team, scoring, and grit 2 things that win hockey games. I'm with you, whoever calls them talentless goons is ignorant and pretty much a typical wings fan around here these days it seems.
-
Hockey wouldn't starve without the USA. More people would just go to Canada to watch it and there would just be less teams.
-
I really want to at least see Janik replacing one of these guys. He brings a liljaesque presence with a bit more toughness and with tme could improve to be a better Lilja(remember how bad Lilja was when he came here) Kindl maybe not quite yet but Janik I think should for sure be up by now. Meech was getting blown over if someone even breathed on him tonight, that wouldn't happen to Janik
-
Looked like Kindl wasn't that bad at all. Made a couple solid defensive plays and had a ripper from the point. Wouldn't count him out yet
-
Could have been such a nice series of old time hockey incidents. Abs got tagged good (he had more then his fair share of big hits tonight Gagnier was lucky Bert cushioned him) then Maltby laid a nice hit and we almost got to see an old fashioned line brawl. Too bad the refs got in there.
