The fact that every single wings prospect spends til the age of 23 in the minors basically until his elc runs out. Very few guys dont spend less time than that in GR. I never said he wasnt irreplaceable , but you said he is completely useless and that we should just cut him. That is far from true, he was still our biggest hitting forward this season and dropped the gloves from time to time. This is his first full year in the show and definitely shouldnt be just cut because hes useless (which is a pretty big exaggeration)

Your hate for Abby is pretty funny. Just because you came into this season expecting him to fight 10 times and be the next coming of Mccarty doesn't mean hes completely useless. He has been used in roles he probably shouldnt have been but he did shut down Doan pretty well. When he is played on the wing and not given center responsibilities is whe nhe is playing physical and contributes on the scoreboard. But yeah youre right, we should cut a 23 year old player who would normally be playing his rookie NHL season just htis season without ridiculous injuries last year.

Which team do you think is a better matchup for Detroit? On one hand you have the sharks who beat us last year. They are a much deeper scoring team than the preds, but have a choke artist label and questionable goaltending. They are also a pretty physical team. They had trouble closing out a Kopitarless LA team though With the preds you have a team Detroit had trouble with this season, but thats different than a 7 game series. Also a physical team that is great defensively, with great goaltending. They do not have the scoring depth of the Sharks. Overall I just dont know who I think is a better matchup. Over a 7 game series, the lack of scoring depth from Nashville would probably allow the wings to win, however they gave us fits all season. With the sharks there is the revenge factor as well as that whole choker label. I think I might rather have the sharks I guess, but its tough

Visnovsky shouldn't even be close to a nomination. He plays like 20 seconds per game short handed, hes worse in that regard than Mike Green and the norris goes to most rounded defenseman. Lidstrom or Weber should have this, Chara was a defensive stalwart this seaon though and deserves the nomination over guys like Yandle and Visnovsky.

I am so sick of seeing this. Doan has been made completely useless at even strength thanks to Abdelkaders play. Dian would absolutely eat Filppula alive, big hits shift after shift. Putting Bert and Abby on him together is hardly enough to contain him.

After winning the SEL championship, Dick said that this will be his last game played for Farjestad. Apparently he has grown up alot according to some Swedish posters I have talked to and plays a much more complete game. He is too good for the wings to just let slip away and apparently is amazing whenplaying at his top gear. Even if he isnt all that great defensively, I could see him being a Hudler type. Offensive specialist except Dick has a penchant for throwing some big hits and getting a little nasty. From what Ive read this season he has stopped being a selfish player compared to years past anyways. Apaarently he takes some dumb penalties in scrums and stuff but in the SEL a face wash can get you a penalty so its hard to say just how dumb his penalties really are. How bad were his character issues actually? He was held off the Junior team because of an underage drinking incident (Sheahan and Smith will get along great with him) and he left grand rapids for Sweden. Other than that has there been anything?

Is there any way to get documentation saying you have applied kind of thing? Sort of like when you get your G license they give you paperwork saying youre licensed as a G and it is in the mail. If that is possible with like a drivers license and health card I'm sure they would let you across. I've had my passport for years though and they definitely will ask for, at the tunnel they basically just look at it and let you go through after I take the tunnel bus over. Using your brothers passport is risky but wings games in the playoffs are pretty awesome haha but seriously if you wanna go that way youll need a health card and drivers license and dont take any of your id. Still very risky but on a bus they arent all that strict..

I dont think it was NHL or bust, Im almost positive he said he would do time in the A. How much time is the real question though. Its hard to know when all the articles are in Swedish, for me its all pretty much hearsay

Apparently he has said he is willing to play in the AHL actually. I dont have a link but read it somewhere on HF or something. He hasnt really had any problems for 2 years or so, I believe he has grown up for sure, but im not sure about whether he will actually play with the griffins. A 6'3 dangler with a mean streak does have me hoping he sticks it out though

I would like a 6'3 guy with a mean streak on the team for sure, hopefully he will just do his time in GR. I could see him getting the first call up next season if he is playing well and making the team the next season

So everyone who says fighting has no place in the game, isn't it odd that the wings go down 3-0, Bertuzzi puts a good licking on Nashvilles toughest player and all of a sudden the wings have momentum swung their way and a comeback made? I strongly believe fighting can sway the momentum of a game, from playing and watching games like this. Anyone think Bertuzzi didnt play a big role in this comeback? PS.. what has gotten into Bert lately? Playing like his old self between his 2 fights today and getting ejected last game. Just in time for the playoffs

Well it definitely helped swing the momentum quite a bit in Detroits favour, which is a far cry from it being useless or only for fan entertainment like some here think. If it didnt have some affect on the bench than all those guys wouldn't have mentioned it post game as being a momentum swinger

Well tonights game against Phoenix, Bertuzzi once again sparked the team to a win. Lidstrom and Datsyuk both mentioned post game that Bertuzzis fight is what really sparked the team and fired them up. Keep it up Bert

ALso having those big bodies matched up with Yandle probably, Abby can go wild. I would match that line up with Doan a bit too. The third line is a little iffy but oh well. Classic 4th line, speed, some grit, ability to chip in a bit. The only change I would make is moving Cleary onto the Abdelkader line and moving one of the wingers up with Datsyuk EDIT: Should have read the post above mine lol

I havent got the chance to watch a replay but it looked like a pretty blatant elbow, I think it should have been a penalty with no suspension but who knows with this NHL. I dont have a youtube or anything

If youre talking regular antenna tv its just because the broadcast can get picked up because Michigan is so close to Canada. I get 2,4,7 etc on my TV at home as well and I live in Canada. Always nice to catch Bernies video arcade once in a hwile

Looking at the list it looks like big, tough powerforward Tyler Biggs could fall pretty close to where the wings are picking. Same with JT Miller who is ranked right behind him. Also surprising to see Courturier fall out of the top 5? I tihnk this may be a case of people getting to watch him so much becaus ehe was highly touted and they start noticing more flaws in his game. Assuming the wings have a fairly deep playoff run, guys from about 22 and down on this list should mostly be in play when the wings pick because there will also be probably 4 or 5 Euros that go earlier than those guys in the draft as well. Larsson, Zibanejad, Armia and Brodin should definitely be gone first and Jaskin should be right in the same area I would think. There may also be a goalie or 2 taken earlier as well. Looking at that list who do you guys wanna see drafted?

Hes 6'7, uses his size and can skate really well for his size. He has really improved over the course of the season and keeps moving up as well. 6 fights this year as well

If we are lucky enough to have Oleksiak fall to the wings pick, I dont see how they dont take him especially with the bit of a lack at defense we have in the pipe line. David Musil could be a good pick up too with a second rounder, he has really dropped a lot since the start of the year

Yeah he needs to be out there come playoff time hitting everything that moves. He has a pretty big role on this team as the go to physical guy on forward. Hes had Bertuzzi playing like his west coast express self too. If theyre missing him for 1 game they can manage but I dont wanna see him gone much more than that
