Any one think Abby might face discipline?

Yeah I feel like if he was going to get something, they would have announced it that he has a hearing by now wouldnt they? Especially with playoffs coming up teams have to get heir s*** together

    Round 1: Wings vs. Coyotes

I'm looking at you Abdelkader. If Abby stays with Bert and Franzen and gets to match up with Yandle he better be doing everything in his pwoer to run his ass through the boards. I dont think hes a big Yandle fan anyways going off of last playoffs. Doan is a physical beast though out there I imagine he'll be coming like a bat out of hell. The wings can be just as physical and tough as the yotes can for sure. If you minus Biznasty who wont be playing this series, the wings would have more fighting majors than the yotes as well. Hopefully Kronwalls shoulder isnt too bad and he can bring the hammer a bit as well

Any one think Abby might face discipline?

After watching a few times I'm starting to think his elbow was tucked against his side until contact is made. Because Seabrook pulled up he clipped him instead of making full contact and the momentum made his elbow follow through.

    Congratulations to Zenon Konopka

The wings shoulda signed him last year instead of Modano

    Gustav Nyquist

From the few games with the Griffins Ive seen of Nyquist he looks really good out there. Definitely the real deal.

    Brendan Smith

Those are my thoughts exactly. Beach has had about 40 more fights than Smith the last 4 years and is bigger than Smith but Smith handled Beach going toe to toe to a slight edge Beach or a draw. He is like Abdelkader in a way except tougher. Both played NCAA so they didnt get a chance to fight much but now that Abby is getting experience finally he is getting better. I can see Smith being pretty damn tough after he gets some more fights under his belt.. Hes been fighting really tough guys as well

    I need some help

I'm having an argument with a friend who is saying that Abdelkader is not a big hitter at all. Its obvious that he doesn't watch wings game at all but oh well. I can't find any compilations of Abdelkader hits or anything really and I was wondering if anyone knew of any I could show him to shut him up lol. Leafss fans , I tell ya oh and I know this seems childish but whatever, any help will do

    I need some help

I didnt even look to see youre from Brampton lol. My close group of friends are all die hards though and really irrational so its really annoying for me. You of all people must know theyll find anything to chirp about and the whole golf jokes dont really phase them anymore Oh and does anyone have the video of that ABdelkader hit on Seabrook from todays game?

    I need some help

You obviously dont live around leaf fans. They grasp at straws to chirp about the red wings everytime they get the chance. They usually will just use the euro softies argument but I just say yeah that got us 4 cups. But this Abdelkader thing is annoying because Brown and Armstrong are headhunters who hardly hit and Rosehill doesnt hit as hard as Abdelkader for sure. Than I went to find a few hits and had trouble finding them for some reason lol

    I need some help

Well hes saying Armstrong, Rosehill and Brown are all bigger hitters lol. Brown only has dirty hits, Rosehill can hit for a fighter but still thats not as good as Abdelkader and Armstrong has a few headhunting incidents and thats about it. Abdelkader is one of the harder hitting forwards in the league I think personally, hes 20th in hit count.

    Interesting draft point

An interview with Curt Fraser talked about the need for size and how the wings have decided to draft bigger players lately. mentioned it has pretty much been mandated that they look for guys 6'2 and over or something. This could have a lot to do with the wings picking Sheahan and we might see it happen going forward as well. Just thought it was cool to hear that the wings are looking to get bigger and stronger.

    Brendan Smith

Smith had a beauty of a fight against Kyle Beach tonight vs Rockford. This kid is tough, he might have become my favourite prospect

    Lines combos in the play-offs

Modano better come out flying or I dont see how he can be in the lineup come playoff time. Miller and Draper provide much more at this point. And for everyone leaving Abdelkader out of their lineups, SERIOUSLY? I get gmr doesnt like him because he was hoping for 10 fights out of him this year but he is still by far this teams hardest hitting forward and steps up this physicality in the playoffs. How can anyone justify Draper, Miller or Modano in the lineup over him, especially in the playoffs when being able to throw some hits is important? Abby has really seemed to wear off on Bertuzzi, he is playing like his old west coast express self the last 5 games or so. If he can play like that all throughout the playoffs on a line with Abdelkader, whichever defenseman are out there better watch out

    Interesting draft point

Hmm thats odd I thought he was great along the boards with the puck and was playing physical when I watched him. I guess we have different standards of effective NHLer. If you think his chances of becoming a good 3rd line, shut down defensive center are slim than I dont know what to say. If youre questioning him becoming a big point producer I could understand but still you dont have to put up a ton of points to become a good NHLer Agreed, you always hear the wings taking gamble on big skill later on in the draft but whats wrong with taking a guy like Lucic every once in a while. Gems like him can be found just as easily as skilled players

Havent watched him play once have you?

What's the wings best playoff opponent?

When the wings play the kings I get nervous when Kopitar is on the ice, but noone else. He isnt gonna be playing, he broke his ankle or something. They have solid goaltending but it is young and unproven and no team crashes the net like Detroit come playoff time. They dont have a whole lot of big, physical guys outside of Clifford and Simmonds which is a plus and their defense has Doughty and Johnson (Johnson puts up points but isnt that special defensively and Doughty has had an off year). Needless to say I voted LA but I think the wings could bend over the stars pretty easily as well

Riley Sheahan - ESPN 2 Tonight

Hmm I really thought that was something to do with Tatar already playing pro hockey or something so he was allowed to do that but I'mm wrong I guess. I think Sheahan plays one more year at Notre Dame and if he still isn't producing something will be done, that will be his third year of college hockey so the wings usually take their guys out at that point anyways, he will just be a year younger than most are when they get taken out of college. Notre Dame as a whole didn't look that great yesterday but I did like some of what I saw from Sheahan. We have got at least an unreal, 3rd line, shut down centerman that is big and physical. The talent is there that he wont be a complete dud offensively I think. At his peak potential we have a scoring line center, who is a big hitter and can put up points. He is definitely the powerforward the wings have been looking for and needed for a long time, hes only 19 and hes already huge, wouldn't surprise me to see him hit 6'3, 235 pounds, maybe even heavier than that.

Riley Sheahan - ESPN 2 Tonight

Yes but he was drafted by the OHL which makes him ineligible I'm pretty sure. While a Canadian Junior team holds your rights you cannot move to the AHL

Couple big hits so far, definitely a powerforward. Was giving a guy the business infront of the net too

Adam Foote Retiring After 19 Seasons

One of the best shut down dmen of the 90s, one tough sob too. Doesnt change the fact that I hate him though
