He obviously is but I just find it odd that Holland is always saying he is looking to add a gritty guy but cant seem to find the right guy. I think Carkner would be perfect to trade for and lock into Salies spot for years to come as our 6th dman who is defensive minded and has some edge (a hell of a lot of edge in this case) since Salei should be gone after this season. He can play the game just as good as Salei, while being one of the toughest guys going and comes at a cheap salary

Agreed 100%. That line looks better then Helm Hudler Abdelkader. I'm not sure if youre being serious, but in all honesty Kindl would be a pretty good guy we could probably trade to them since theyre rebuilding. Kindl doesn't look like he'll be much more then a number 4 guy at most and with Smith looking much better he really is expendable. Carkner and a 4th or 3rd for Kindl would probably help our team by giving us a big, tough, defensive presence and Kindl can be a second PP guy after Karlsson for the Sens in the future. Not to mention Carks is one of the top 5 tough guys in the game right now. Do it Kenny

Up until this season when Ottawa started sucking you could count on Fisher to put up over 20 goals and 45 points, Flip has been that guy that we have been waiting to break out forever and he hasn't. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on the defensive side of things but Fisher is great defensively and definitely isn't a step back from Flip at all. On top of that you have a more physical guy who is a better goal scorer. How is he not better offensively, he has consistently put up high 40s in points while being fairly physical, and scoring goals. I think Fisher would be a lot better with Bertuzzi feeding him the puck then what Flip is. Hahahaha only a blind homer wings fan would consider Fisher and his 2 fights a season a tough guy. Sorry I dont have the boner for Filppula a lot of people here do, what exactly has he proven again? That he is always one season away from breaking out, and thats about it.
-
Trade Filppula and maybe a decent prospect or pick for Mike Fischer. Fischer would be the second line center I would love on this team, hes just as good if not better then Flip defensively and has a bit of grit to his game.

Get Chris Neil or Carkner. How is it the sens can find 2 good tough guys who can play the game well but Detroit can't find any
-
Clemenson has always been reliable and has some nice stats this season. Of that list I think I would like him most and the Panthers always seem like they like to make some trades.

Get real here, you dont know the situation at all, neither does anyone else so you might want to reserve judgement. People love pulling this s*** on pro athletes to get money out of them too, I woouldn't be surprised if this is the case here
-
I'm baffled as to why he is never given a shot
-
Yeah a pretty big hit when theyre playing the goon squad that hasn't got to fight all offseason and they have a history of roughing up the wings. If youre that big of a homer that you wanna pretend Z didnt do anything for that to happen then go ahead

Meh, Ive watched a tonne of Griffs games this year and Emmerton does a lot of the little things right. He can PK, wins defensive zone faceoffs, and is producing at a pretty similar rate. On top of that Emmerton is yonuger and has been a guy the wings have developed over like 3 years. Emmerton deserved his shot more then Ilari

Chicago @ Grand Rapids...there's no Wings game so why not?

Oh I'm not enough company for you UK? I see how it is. And yeah people here who don't watch them would be quick to say they suck but they have been playing some solid hockey. To win in the AHL you need your roster filled out with vets and prospects in small roles, but that isn't the case in GR. The wings prospects get the chance to play, which is much better then watching a bunch of AHL vets that have no NHL shot play. And for the record that hit was clean, no elbow, north south and Ross had the puck within a fair time frame. If you dont like that hit, then you dont like big hits in hockey Tell that to Vladdy or Kronwall, I'm sure you dont criticize either of them a whole lot even though they were notorious hitters like that -
There were people posting that what the ducks did when Zetterberg actually had that pretty big interference in a 4-0 game against the ducks. It really was Z's fault the ducks did that, they were provoked
-
Reading over this thread is hilarious. There were people pretending Zetterberg was completely innocent on that play haha. Homers, I tell ya

Sign Emery instead

I dont use twitter haha I saw that on HFboards annd figured it was the wings twitter,
-
I misread it, there is a tweet in there that says it was confirmed by another source,http://twitter.com/RedWingsFeed Renaud Lavoie? Dont know how reliable that guy is
-
its has been confirmed by the wings twitter, done deal

Nabby is a pretty damn good regular season goalie, he can start 70 games and have very good numbers. Playoffs have been different for him but he was on those Shark teams that have always choked big time.
-
There is Hudler supporters, haters, objective people and you forgot one group, its called EVA unit zero. But seriously to me, Hudler is turning it on lately but that still isn't enough to make me like him as a player. He is still small and weak defensively. If he was an amazing offensive talent I could see past it, but I dont see him really being a 60 point scorer, especially consistently. That to me does not outweigh his deficiencies.
-
He's not the best playoff goalie but he is solid overall and would be better then having Mcdonald or Larsson as a back up to Jimmy. This way both guys could split the games pretty even and be rested for playoffs.
-
Ciccarelli really came off as a great guy to me. He had just retired when I met him and he was playing an alumni hockey game, I was young and wouldnt stop bugging him but he was cool about it and signed a bunch of s*** for me. Ysaebart? was pretty cool as well Shawn Burr seemed pretty quiet when I met him.

Watching the habs sabres game right now and I am really impressed with Gaustad. He can put up 30 points a year, is 6'5", hits, fight and can PK. He is the type of guy I really wish Detroit could get on their third line for a playoff run. I would do a Hudler and a 3rd for Gaustad to bulk up for the playoffs. I would love having a 6'5 player who actually uses their size on this team for once
-
Yeah I like Winchester too but Gaustad is a bit better I think overall. And having his faceoff ability (or Konopkas) on a PK in our zone would be great for this team

I love how almost irrational all the hate on this board for the penguins is. Yeah Cooke, Kunitz, Roberts and Crosby have done s*** that makes them cheap. But Orpik is just a hard hitting stay at home guy and Engelland we haven ever even played and is one of the best up and coming tough guys. Engelland is hardly a cheap shot type guy lol Anyways, hoping for a wings win since I hate the penisguins. Ericcson fights someone, Z lights up Fleury

I agree completely, I'm not saying it was a dirty hit and there should've been a fight. I'm just saying tis ridiculous to think that a 19 year old blooming superstar should have to fight his own battles and fights. Hockey has never been like that and never will be
