I'm gonna say 3-1 wings. Cleary (he always scores on the ducks), Datsyuk and Franzen. Hopefully Abdelkader gets in the lineup tonight, perfect guy to have against the ducks, he could pretty much handle anyone except Parros on their team. Stuart should take Perrys head off and I beleive someone will get a highlite reel goal tonight

I'd give them a few mroe games to try and figure it out but if they dont I would bump Abby up to the third line and move Hudler down. In the 08 playoffs Huds played 4th line and had some chemistry with Helm so it might work out. Having Abdelkader and Cleary would make for a hard forechecking line with 2 guys (Cleary and Mikey) who have proven they can score better then the average 3rd liner and Abby who has 2nd line potential. Even if they aren't scoring, at least Cleary and Abby can get in on the forecheck, hammer some bodies and create energy, then the line isn't completely useless like it seems to be now
-
They would get more attendance that way. Seriously the London Knights get around what the Thrashers got last night, thats pathetic

The other night Smith got in his first pro hockey fight with an AHL goon, Tommy Maxwell, the guy had 25 fights last year. No one got an instigator so Smith must have fought willingly. Does anyone have access to the video or did anyone see the fight live? If so, how did hee do?
-
Any news on Abdelkdaer? It says questionable but I havent heard anything about how his ribs. The flames dont have offense so lets not let them find it here tonight. I'll say 4-1 wings. Huds, Dats, Kronwall and Eaves. Oh and Janik will fight Glencross tonight and if he loses, the wings will call up new enforcer Brendan Smith
-
Yeah he has the offense going and now hes developing another part of his game by taking on a goon as a rookie and doing well. This kid is gonna be a good hockey player
-
Yeah Detroit has a legit defenseman prospect that could be a number 2 guy and has proven he can handle legit, proven AHL goons in a fight and probably get a slight edge in the fight. Thats something to be excited about, sorry I like tough, good hockey players. I knew you would be the one that was gonna pull through drumnj. Always got teh videos and the streams. Appreciate it
-
I think he means for next year getting games. In the long run be excited for him because so far he's been doing really well but he won't get games next year. maybe the year after. ps whats this guy been doing? Surprised he hasn't fought yet this season
-
Hmm to me it sounds like its something he doesn't mind doing if hes picked up pointers from his brother who fights in pro lax. He's already lighting the lamp so maybe he'll be our next Fischer or something that can dish out punishment as well
-
The thing is, if I wanna know how a guy is doing offensively I can look at his stats. I already knew Smith was lighting it up but if a guy is fighting, its no good if hes fighting like Janik against Mcleod haha. This is pretty much an unknown for Smith. He had a goon like season in the OPJHL then went to school where he was knwon to throw big hits. Sounds like he could be a tough player. Smith is already an exciting prospect but if he can fight then he'll be a hero in town in no time

Like a lot of people have said in this thread I think Kesler would be the perfect 2nd line center on this team. Shayne Corson or Gary Roberts both would have been nice in their prime. I would take Mike Richards over almost anyone in the NHL. Getzlaf is another guy that I would take over almost anyone.

No what he was saying was stupid. hes comparing last year's Vezina trophy winner to Osgood who has been s*** all of last season and is starting this season no differently. No one here is saying Osgood can't get wins, which is what he was cracking a joke at, we're saying he can hardly stop a puck anymore which is true. Sometimes Doc you need to pull off your Homer glasses and realize not everyone on the wings is a great player, I know thats tough for you to do but give it a try sometime
-
How many of those guys let in 4 goals on 9 shots through 2 periods? Because if any of them did then your comparison would make sense..
-
The team didnt look good last night, but come on Ozzie cant be letting in 4 goals on 9 shots. Its impossible for a team to get any momentum when that happens. We didnt look good but we did have 30 shots and they had like 16. It seems like the team just has no confidence anymore playing infront of Ozzie. I think its time to go as well
-
I really wouldn't mind seeing Arty out there. Hes not really a fighter but he's a huge man who will fight after eh absolutely crushes guys. If we had him and Abby in the line up other teams would be keeping their head up alot more then they are right now. The guy can actually play hockey too
-
Me and my brother were talking about this today. Sadly I don't think we'll ever see 90 point hank again.
-
He let in 4 goals on 9 shots, an NHL goalie shouldn't be doing that.
-
Howard wouldnt have let in 4 goals on only 16 SHOTS TONIGHT. People on here always say the team doesn't play good infront of osgood and blame the team but he always seems to let in a goal he shouldn't and take all the wind out of the teams sail. Its hard to play hard when youre down 4 goals and the other team has only had 10 shots or something.

Alright Janik, redemption by pounding Otts head in sound good? Sonuds great me

I wouldn't say taught to be a sore loser, but you are taught to play very physical hockey. If you watch a Canadian hockey game from Bantam upwards it is very physical and not rare to be pretty dirty. The way that every bum town in the middle of nowhere in Canada has a team, you often play in the same league year after year against kids you don't like and you've met at parties etc and games are just played way rougher then what you see in the NHL. Canadian hockey is just rougher in general
-
He took a hit trying to make a play, I can respect that. Its happened to lots of guys before, apparently it happened to Dats last night. Clifford is gonna be a solid player for years to come and these guys can get picked up in the 3rd and 4th round, theyre is usually a few of them still around.
-
He was just drafted 2 years ago and made the team out of camp. He was invited to the team Canada camp for the world juniors this year so hopefully he's allowed to go because he is one of those typical Canadian junior types that make it hard on the European teams. He's a pretty tough kid and has some size, I wish Detroit would draft these guys sometimes..
-
Nah Cherry doesn't like that stuff. He absolutely ripped Carcillo for fighting Gaborik
-
Is abdelkader for sure a no for the game? I wanna see the guy unleash his fury on the ice already
-
Ok, I dont care much for a staged fight like May and Barch but fighting off a faceoff for something that happened earlier in a game is fine. A 4th line fighter can be fond who is a heavy weight and not a liability, people on this board have an impression of fighters that isn't entirely true because Holland signs washed up scrap for one season instead of just filling a role. Now maybe youre right, it wouldnt stop Matt Cooke because he is the biggest scum bag in the league, but it would stop other people. The last couple seasons Corey Perry gets about 3 fights a season and every time one comes against the wings at least. Why is it that he acts much tougher against the wings then any other team. Why are punks like Bobby Ryan trying to kill our top pairing defenseman from behind. Why have our stars like Datsyuk and Hossa had to fight? If our team even added more guys like Abdelkader, the ******* of the league wouldn't try to act tough against us, which would make this team a lot better off
