Fighting does equal toughness. Just because fighting makes you tough doesn't mean other things can't make you tough as well. Taking a punch in the head is just as tough as blocking a shot. As for Kariya being tough because he scored a goal after Stevens lit him up.... No that makes Kariya a dumb ass for admiring his pass but a good goal scorer.

I never collected much but a few years ago I bought a pack of Private Stocks and got a Stanislav Chistov RC. It was right after the ducks made their run to the cup and he had a great playoff. It was worth 150 back then, no idea what it would be now though

Yeah Kocur just for having the greatest right hand of all time gets the nod for me. When he was with Detroit in his prime he had Probie too so he didn't have to enforce as much as he would and could've shown his ability better

If Ericcson had someone mean on his pairing who would need him to back him up sometimes, instead of Lebda or post concussion Lilja who never started anything physical, Ericcson would develop a very nice mean streak I think. Even if Ericcson played soft, opposing forwards staring down the ice at a 6'5 and a 6'6 defender would have to be intimidating

Chara is one of the best fighters in the league I would say, but not near the best enforcer. When Chara is pissed, he is a force to be reckoned with and there is not a lot of guys in the league I wouldn't pick him to win a fight over. But like was said before, he is too good to be a legit enforcer or anything because he is a legit number 1 defenseman

Conboy has a 2 way and Mccormick a one way. Gaustad doesn't fight a lot but he can when he needs too.

Yeah Mccormick always seemed pretty decent to me. The Sabres don't have much size outside of Gaustad and Myers so he would help them for sure. Mcleod was clearly the better of the two however and I can't blame Colly for picking Mcleod over Mccormick

I agree with this here. Is Kronwall maybe a more capable hitter? Possibly. But he doesn't hit nearly as much as Clutterbuck so even if his hits aren't quite as hard, he still piles them up more then Kronner.

He's huge but not impressive by any means in his fights. They would have been better off keeping Mccormick and pairing him with Mcleod. Those 2 used to raise hell against Detroit

I'm not blowing it out of proportion anymore then what those Tampa fans would be saying about Matt Walker. Every board is the same. There is hate for players that don't deserve it and its that exact same hate for Walker on the Lightning boards as it is on here. I still don't get how everyone is saying Walker hardly belongs in the NHL? His stats are pretty well equal to Lilja's pre concussion on an awful team

Just because you don't hate those guys doesn't mean others don't hate them. If you actually don't think after this past season there wasn't a lot of Stuart hate on this board then I don't know what forum you were posting on. Cleary does get hated on quite a bit as well actually. Fact of the matter is, fans of teams hate on their own players because they see them every single game and every single little mistake they make. We all hated Sammy, look at him this year..

Yeah, but that doesn't mean the other team never has the puck against Detroit. There have been plenty of times when Franzen could finish a check but doesn't. Yeah we have the puck more then the other team cool, doesn't change the fact that our team can still play the body when we don't have it. As for that highlight, yeah the wings got the puck after every hit. But all they did was play with it in the corner, get laid out and Pitty got huge momentum from that sequence. Did you see the crowd? It doesn't matter if our team has the puck more, when we don't have the puck a 6'3 guy should play the body more then what Mule does. Especially when he has shown he is a capable hitter in the past.

Well Tampa is my second team and I watch them a lot and I see no reason to think he's worse then Lilja. Lilja gets hated on here pretty good, same with guys like Bert (even though the coach deems him worthy to play top 6 minutes), people are constantly hating on Stuart here as well. I'm not going to let reading a lightning forum affect how I see a player when I've probably watched as many Tampa games as those Florida fans have. I mean really the hate on Stuart on this board is pretty high, but do you not ttihnk he is a legit top 4 defenseman? Perry is more of a big agitator. Yeah Downie agitates and is a pest, but he also will back it up a hell of a lot more then Perry does. He hits much harder then Perry as well.

Yeah Getz doesn't fight that much but he's always mucking and scrumming. I think youre right about Iggy now but 6 years ago he was a beast. Richards plays like a power forward but his 5'11 frame is what might make me think maybe hee's not a true power forward.
