Depends if you won them or not!

I like the looks of that but Mursak will be a top 6 guy I think. Maybe switch him with Ferraro because Ferraro is grittier and tougher then Mursak and better for a 4th line role.

Yeah it was my good hand too and I was dumb enough to go and not wrap it up or get a cast and play at 9 am the next morning. After breaking it, I've never punched someone who was turtling in the back of the head again lol. Ive never tried playing on a broken foot so I would have to see how that feels to know which I would rather haha you gotta love hockey eh, the sad thing is you probably felt awesome as a hockey player with all that blood pouring outta your nose.
-
Is that a hockey fight or a street fight? And yeah I've never got that tuned up before by the looks of you haha. Worst I've done is broke my hand in a couple spots and had a hockey tournament the next day to play. I could hardly raise the puck lol

With Cord, Archie and Parkes trying out at the prospect camp for a contract basically, when will we see if they get one? Do they just wait and decide in the next bit or will these players also go to the wings camp later in the summer to try and earn a contract? Also, can anyone find a scouting report on Cord? I can find literally nothing on the guy except that he played 10 games with Mississauga last season and had 2 fights
-
Haha well I can be our Mitchell Callahan. I'm not big enough to be a heavyweight lol
-
Nice, he's gonna be adored here. So do you think he has really imrpoved this past season compared to the season prior? I know his scoring went up but how is his skating? Thats what I'm most concerned about. Also, is he a big hitter like a Drake type or does he just hit often kinda like Maltby? If he plays like Drake he's golden to me because Drake was a huge hitter but Cally will probably be among the top fighters in the league with like 20 a year. Good write up. Kinda gets you pumped for 2 or 3 seasons from now when he makes the squad and bumps out Miller haha
-
I think it was Malik from Mlive who said Ferraro looks the most skilled out of anyone at the prospects camp. It would be sweet to see him come out firing next season and work his way on to team Canada. Maybe him and Sheahan can both make it

I bet we could beat an Atlanta forum pretty easily
-
It makes me wonder if like you said, they don't need him so he plays well and once the pressure is on and games are tighter he disappears. He hasn't ever played for a reg. season team that has had pressure. The wings, pens and hawks were all top of the confrence teams and Atlanta was always bottom so there was no pressure. He just doesn't seem like a big time player to me at all and he's going to have to do ALOT to shake that reputation.

And even when Dats is in a slump like the 09 playoffs, it was the best slump I've ever seen. He was still by far teh best defensive player out there stealing the puck and getting chances. He just couldn't get points.
-
I think he's going to blow us away next season to be honest. He knows he has something to prove and I have faith in him to prove it. It'll be a sad day if that work horse leaves Detroit for me. He's one of the hardest working players this team has seen in a long time
-
Okay thanks guys. So basically its if they really thought they were great they'll get one now, but all of them will be back in Traverse for main camp and maybe some preseason games to earn a contract? As for Callahan making the team, I really, really doubt it. I would love him to be up but at the same time, I would rather him stay back in Kelowna and get bigger and stronger. He's still fairly small to be playing the game he does in the NHL. A year in the very tough AHL would also be great for him because he'll get to try himself against NHL calibre tough guys with the Griffs. I don't think he will spend as long with the griffins as scoring prospects usually do because his game doesn't need his scoring to be refined, he just needs to throw hits, fight and piss people off which regardless of NHL or AHL he will be able to do.

Haha great interview. Bruise bros will like that he doesn't have a visor on lol. Man this kid is gonna be a fan favourite for sure when he makes it, which I'm really starting to thin he will. His step this year from last year was huge and he was even wearing an "A" part of the season. He plays like Carcillo, I don't care if ppl here don't like it but this guy isnt classy so when he makes the team we'll probably lose some fans from this board. Oh well. A lot of us hate Cooke but a guy who plays like Cooke but will fight when he has too and is a great pound for pound fighter would be a great player to have. He takes on guys half a foot bigger then him and will win. Favourite prospect by far. Good reason to be excited and this was a against a guy who fights quite a bit

"This bus driver better give me my 20 cents, I'm sure Patty will have a word with him if he doesn't"
-
Meh, Hossa does not look nearly as dynamic or as good anymore as he did with Pitt and Detroit. Is he good? Yeah. Is he great? After these last 2 playoffs and watching him play quite often, he just doesn't seem like the special player he once was.
-
Its hard to beleive a guy that looks that young(Kocur) had teh hardest and most devastating right hand in the history of hockey. I still can't believe Detroit had both of these guys on their team at the same time. Unreal how tough the wings of the past were.
-
Yeah there has been a lot of ppl forgetting the beast he is in the playoffs when he is healthy and that he is one of the, if not the most versatile player in the NHL. It is annoying for sure to see people say he's a waste of space when he was playing on 2 torn meniscus, some ppl just don't get it I guess lol
-
I dont think thats true at all. If we just re-signed someone like Lidstrom or Homer then traded them it would look bad. But trading a guy who was gone to the KHL for a year and came back on his contract from arbitration, not less money that he chose, this would be completely acceptable.
-
I wish NHL network would show that again
-
Yeah right now with the huge development curve Cally has been on I could see him becoming a very similar player to Abby. Probably hits as hard, fights more but can't score quite as well. Only time will tell but it will for sure be sweet watching the wings when he makes it and we have our own Carcillo type playing.
-
I really don't think Callahan will develop offensively anything more then a third liner but still he fights anyone, hits and is scoring a bit so he's got everything I love in a player. It has been said that his hands are really underrated though so who knows And yeah I usually go to sting games to watch prospects I don't know much about. I remember watching Kindl absolutely dominate when he played in Kitchener. As a knights fan, what do you think about Seth Griffiths, or have you seen him play much lol? Yeah Cord looks like a decent fighter at least, and he has good size so as of now I like him. 18 pims, 2 fights with Mississauga in 10 games is pretty good in my eyes for a tough player. I think the wings will sign him even if hes only half decent just to get a guy like him that we lack in the system.

<- Check my username. I'm not one of those ppl who just hate on Cleary at all. I said a beat up Cleary like this year is very close or on par with Carcillo Youre saying that I'm playing what if games, but right now your argument is all based on potential. I think with the enforcer role thing, if Carcillo iss at down with a coach and was told something like, we need you to step up and play the PP because we have injuries and he just puts his mind to it, he will score a lot more then Helm. And I was saying I wouldn't say he was only a second liner because he was on Philly, because that team was more successful then ours and had a very good team.
-
Cally is by far my favourite prospect now that he has been taking such huge strides in his game and is a tough SOB. He's a small guy that will fight anyone and was a late round pick. If a guy like that works hard and makes the show he's deserving of a lot of respect. Since we have no real mean defenseman in the system Cord would be a good pickup for sure. He seems like a real tough, stay at home guy like this team hasn't had since... Jiri Slegr (haha) but seriously has anyone seen this guy play and can comment on if he is a huge hitter or what? I like Archie but not in love with him. He's big and has shown he can score and will hit the goalie. But he's not exactly a fighter, he only had 4 last season which isn't much at all. To make the show he would probably fight more in the AHL and when he gets to the NHL but still.

Just because he didn't drop his gloves doesn't mean he didn't deserve it. Claude Lemiuex didn't drop his gloves but he deserved every punch and knee in the face that Mac gave him. Bowman has more intel on the situation so I think he can judge the situation much better then us just because we saw a guy get beat up and don't know why.
