Have you seen Helms hands? Have you seen Carcillos? Carcillo seems to me like the type of guy that is in the role of a tough guy, pest that if he got more scoring pressure put on him, he would produce. Carcillo has bounced around on teams like Phoenix and Philly who don't really have coaching like the wings do. Helm is a great third liner but who do you put in a shootout line up if theyre on your team? Carcillor or Helm, its gonna be Carcillo. As for next season Carcillo on the third I already said it wouldn't happen with a healthy Cleary and Hudler back but last year it would've Homer Datsyuk Bert Flip Z Franzen Cleary Helm Carc Eaves Draper/Abby Miller Miller definitely doesn't beat out Carc, Eaves could give him competition but he gets hurt so Carc would be up there for sure while Eaves is out. Even at times last year the way Cleary was playing Carcillo may beat him out of that spot. He has similar point totals to a lot of our bottom 6 but noone on the bottom 6 hits and fights like he does. And Helm is only 2 years younger then Carcillo but was given time to refine his offensive game i the AHL, CArcillo was brought up to Phoenix in an enforcer role at a young age so he didn't get to really work on his scoring touch.

It has to be too play in Grand Rapids. There are too many forwards already and he said he thinks our forwards are pretty much set. But I did see a Maltby at meijer thing on the wings site and he was telling teh fans there that he'll be playing again. Dunno if he meant for Detroit or what though.

Oh I forgot about Archie, thats a possibility too. I have a feeling if it was these guys though that fight often then the fight probably would've taken place. It was probably Jarnkrok and Fournier lol

They do but he hardly ever played because he is god awful at hockey and at the same time not a very good fighter. He'll fight anyone and his fights are always entertaining but he's not scaring anyone. Shelley is a solid 4th line player who isn't a liability and is a much better fighter.

I'm gonna go ahead and guess it was Callahan and Cord or maybe Oslund and someone. Not sure if Oslund fights since he's in College but he's definitely a tough player.

Yeah and Detroit with guys like Datsyuk and Zetterberg on their first and second lines were out of a playoff spot most of the year as well. There was only 5 wings with more goals then Carcillo. A lot of ppl underrate him because they just see him as an unclassy goon(which on this board means you don't belong in the NHL)

We seemed to get lucky by picking up a good, tough, stay at home guy in Lashoff after the draft and Lashoff seems well on his way to be a contributor in the NHL in the future. Hopefully we get lucky again and this mean , SOB gets signed and pans out like Lashoff did. Cord seems tougher then Lashoff though from what I've read and watched

If Bert is on teh third line then there is an opening in the top 6, so someone will be moved up which makes Carcillo likely a third liner, Helm and Carcillo are pretty close for me, Carcillo has more potential to score but Helm is better on the PK and is much faster, Hudler obviously will be on the third before him but thats what I already said. With Hudler and a healthy Cleary he's not on our third. Without these he probably is and this past season he would've been. As for the whole Philly thing, they just almost won the cup and did much better then a healthy playoff, Detroit team did so I wouldn't be knocking them too much.

Last year he's on our third line for sure, 100%. Next year, maybe not with Hudler coming back but this last season he would most likely be higher on teh depth chart than Eaves, Miller, Draper, Cleary(while playing hurt), Abby, May, Maltby and Ritola in his short time up. Abby, May and Malts was our 4th line and Carcillo is way better then any of them at this point, he's better then Miller for sure who saw a lot of time on the 3rd and Eaves is pretty similar skill wise but he isn't nearly as physical

Kolosov to me seems like a big body who if he developed more of a mean streak, would have fans very excited around here. He's shown he can make big hits (ask dan fritcshe), will fight and can play a solid stay at home game, but doesn't do the first 2 things nearly as much as a guy like him should. If he gets meaner I see him being the wings #6 down the road, if not he probably stays in the AHL and is a Janik type.

Carcillo isn't even close to a plug, he would be on our 3rd line in Detroit most likely. Shelley might not be in every game but Carcillo will be in almost every single one, fighting and scoring goals.

I wouldn't say thats true. He'll fight anyone really and doesn't care about size or mismatches, he fought Landon Ferraro but he also has fought guys like Frazer Mclaren, Brett Ponich, Brayden Mcnabb and Scott Ramsay who are all bigger then him. In his draft year he fought smaller guys and a few big guys but this past season he really stepped up and fought alot of ppl his size or bigger. For someone who also was a 52 goal scorer, 186 pims and a lot of fighting majors is pretty good. He might not be as tough as Lucic, he may be close, but he definitely has more of a scoring line potential then Looch as well. He would probably be Detroits best prospect if he were in our system or right in the top 3 at least.

Its starting too look like to me that they are going to have Toews and Kane in their top 6 and thats about it for talent. Sharp is really their only other top notch player in my opinion and he might be gone. Hossa just doesn't seem like anything special to me anymore, is he a top 6 plaayer yeah but he just doesn't seem like the difference maker he was with the wings in the regular season.I'm glad the wings let him go. It looks to me like a slightly above average top 6, nothing amazing, with absolutely 0 depth scoring.

Philly gets a really good deal here I think. Guy who fights, pisses everyone off, is a fan favourite and can chip in some goals for 1 mil? Too bad the wings couldnt get a guy like Carcillop for that kind of money.

Wow like what I'm reading about Callahan out there. He seems like since being drafted he's just busted his ass to get better. He put up points last year and still fought a lot of bigger guys then him. They're comaring him to a mix of Drapes and Maltby but I say you gotta throw a little Macarty in there as well since he's always been near the top of the WHL fight majors. Also seems like Archibald looks good out there, hopefully he doesn't hit any of the goalies, seems like Cord is just a mean, stay at home guy that we all wanted in the draft but didn't get. Hopefully both these guys can earn contracts, I like their games.

I'm sure Bowman is singing a tune along the lines of I have a guy who potted 50 goals last season, has potential for 30 in the NHL easily and can fight most heavyweights a lot like Lucic. HAving a guy who fights at camp isn't going to have Bowman upset he's gonna be glad he's got a guy who has intensity and wants to earn an NHL job doing anything for the team. I wouldn't mind at all if some wings prospects got into it at camp.

I agree about the Crosby thing but the Getzlaf thing, not so much. If ou watched that series you would know Getzlaf was completely the driving force behind the Ducks and noone else was even close to on his level.

I know he doesn't meet the criteria, but anyone else think Shane Doan was an animal against us. I was scared he was going to seriously injure a wing every single shift. He tagged Kronwall behind the net that one game and I was absolutely shocked. Then he got hurt and that team was never the same after he was done. I wonder if he wouldn't have hurt his shoulder if Phoenix would've taken that series, he was their heart and soul and I was scared of the yotes at first.

I agree that trading right now would be dumb but lets look at this differently for a second. If you were an expansion team and had the ability to draft either Getzlaf or Z to build your team around for the future and for now, who do you take? I honestly think I take Getzlaf in that situation, he's young, physical and doesn't really have the injury past like Z does. He's more of a guy to build around if you don't have a good team but Z is more of a player you would take for sure in a win now situation like Detroit is in.
