    Tomas Kopecky

I'm not blaming Kopecky for his salary I'm saying he is making more then he is worth and so I'm glad he is gone. Good for him for getting that contract but he is not worth that much is what I'm saying. He isn't a good player for 1.2 million. He had a hot streak for a couple months and EVA tried saying he would be like a 30 goal scorer or something which isn't the case. He was also suposed to provide a physical edge and really the only time he did that was against that Carle guy in the preseason. EVA is saying he is worth that money and that he is a solid player, I'm saying he is not for 1.2 million.

    Tomas Kopecky

If this means Kopecky then I say take the person who runs his gate and skates away. Seriously a guy his size, constantly falling all over the place like hes playing the game with a half case of beer in him, barely has a physical side, and wants a 1.2 million contract. Isn't Eva the one on this forum who constantly is talking about Holland is smarter then all of us when he's talking about his little midget buddy Hudler coming back but now he's saying we shoulda kept Kopecky? How many games did you watch last season Eva? Or did you recently hit your head really hard because Kopecky is TERRIBLE

    Free Agent Wish List

Huge no to Coliacovo, like said earlier hes made of glass. Definitely need to bring in someone for the third line. I think Abdelkader Eaves Ladd would be nice. and do we really need drew miller? He did great and all this year but he's and average bottom 6 forward that doesnt bring scoring or any physical game really. Abs can play the PK next year so there goes his need there. It seems like we could do with one of Eaves and Miller and I say keep Eaves.

    Faceoffs?

Whats been going on? The first 2 games especially we got dummied on faceoffs which were critical with all those penalties to kill. Does anyone think Mclellan is the one who makes the team good at faceoffs? Ever since he left San Jose has been the best in the league. I think now with Draper past his prime it wouldnt be a bad idea to bring in a specialist for faceoffs. I was trying to find some guys who were just faceoff specialists and could be had cheap. The only ones I really found were.....drum roll..... Scott Nichol(as old as drapes pretty much) and Konopka who honestly I wouldn't mind on this team in a 4th line roll but I'm sure many here disagree. His FO% was around 60 and he could be had cheap but I really don't see it happening. What do you guys think? Is it time to get another guy we can depend on to win us a faceoff when we need it to replace Draper? And if so, who?

Ritola in for Williams in game 4?

I wouldn't mind seeing Ritola in. If we were actually going to make it past this series I would say May but might as well give the young gun a shot to show what he's got now that we're pretty well done.

It's Official: Happy Hudler is Back

Finland in the Finnish Elite league maybe, but at the NHL level finland barely has players that can translate that toughness at the highest level. The ruutus are the only 2 I can think of. I'm not talking about the leagues in Europe I'm talking about the best league in the world, the NHL. I don't care if Finnish people play tough in a lower level league, there is barely any players who have that toughness and skill to hack it. Its just a different brand of hockey and everyone knows it. Sure they may not play that way in Finland but in the NHL it just doesn't show. I'm not saying there isn't tough Europeans, theres plenty. Oliwa, Ivanans, Volchenkov and even OV all play a tough game. But they are few and far between, I'm speaking in generalities but theres a reasno its like this. The way the players are brought up with emphasis on the skilled part of the game. Theres nothing wrong with it, it just is how it is.

It's Official: Happy Hudler is Back

Yeah I would much rather lose a game and see a fight then win? You are dense man. Toughness usually results in more goals. Hard play down low and around the net will get us more of those playoff type goals that we could really use right now. I'm not saying that Armstrong would be or is a better player, I'm saying Armstrong would be better fit for the 3rd line. Hudler isn't a third line player and since we don't have two second lines like we used to. Theres a reason Huds played the 4th line in playoffs, Babcock knows he's too small and soft to be effective in the playoffs. You don't seem to realize that Detroit is already skilled and having toughness would make the bottom lines better. Adrew Ladd would also be better in that spot then Hudler, even if Huds gets more points, Ladd would still be better for this team. A 10 point difference is worth a guy who can hit and fight. If we got Armstrong we could trade Huds for 2 second round picks and get Armstrong, so yes Armstrong would be a better option. oh and for the record there are 2 distinct types of hockey.... North American and European, its just the way it is so live with it. Just like Finlland is different from the czechs, western canada hockey is different then french style of hockey.

OHL Player lays out opposing goalie

I would like that, the refs could give charging penalties if they got hit too hard.

OHL Player lays out opposing goalie

Dirty play obviously and deserves maybe a game plus a punch in the face but come on people. Banned from the league? Really people, its playoff hockey youre losing you try to knock the other team(or goalie) off their game however you can. Goalies have been getting ran from the dawn of hockey, its just the fans (this site for example) have gotten softer. Let the defense man take care of it, not the league.

    Eaves out for Game 2

When May is out against their 4th line his speed wouldn't be a problem and he would hit like crazy. He would've been muchb etter then Willy

    Crosby the greatest?

Haha I would rather have a guy that is good enough to be arguably be the best right now then be an American. Still bitter about us winning that gold on your land then on ours oh and burning down the white house?

It's Official: Happy Hudler is Back

Cleary's looked bad this year but thats because he played hurt. He's proven he can score 20, play on the 1st or 4th line because he can hit, grind, make plays, or score goals. He can play PP or PK effectively and is usually a beast in the playoffs. Hudler has proven that he can play the PP well and that 5 on 5 he can play against third liners. To go along with the fact that he gets put to the 4th line in the playoffs after putting up almost 60 points in the regular season really says something about him. Oh yeah and he's weak in the corners and can't play physical.

    Setoguchi

Yeah it was Jim Vandermeer who slugged him in Calgary and he laid around like a girl for a while. That Roberts punch though he looks like he didnt even land the punch and it wasn't event hat hard. It was probably a dive but after having his head scrambled I just don't know lol

Never. Thats just someone with a boner for Huds trying to talk him up a bit. It will never happen

    Eaves misses practice

I really don't think Babcock will put Williams in. It would just be strange like he wouldn't be playing the point on the PP anymore so what would he really bring? They'll put May in since he's a playoff warrior and have someone provides some toughness with Abdelkader over having the invisible man play... I hope anyways

It's Official: Happy Hudler is Back

He won't get any PK minutes because he is way too soft, weak and slow. Honestly saying Hudler will have the same Points per time on ice then he did when he left is stupid. He played on what would basically be a decent second line on some teams in the NHL in his time here against third lines. He won't be a 30 goal scorer, we didn't even have a 30 goal scorer this year did we? Remember how Hudler has like 60 points last season he was here but ended up playing on the 4th line for playoffs? There was a reason for that. Thats why I would like to see him traded, he handcuffed the team last offseason and if you are a top 6 player you should be a top 6 player all year and not just the regular season. The difference between North American and European hockey ladies and gentleman. Oh but guess where the majority of NHL players are from... North America so yeah a team with equal skill will come down to toughness. The tougher team will win whenever skill doesn't work.

    Setoguchi

I know Franzen is a diver but I like that he hasn't really dove lately. But this play I'm still not sure about. This was just after he missed all those games from his head injury. This could actually be one of those plays that actually hurt,

    Todd, Big Bad, Bertuzzi!

It was a punch to the side of the head of a coward who you tried to fight 5 times, had been chirping and playing dirty all game and tried taking your captain and linemates head off 3 days ago. He didn't drive his head into the ice, he fell on top of him and then all Moore's teammates followed suit and broke his neck. I think its funny, people hate Bert for doing it but everyone o here just about calls for Cooke's career to be ended.
  19. newfy

    Todd, Big Bad, Bertuzzi!

Uh yeah he was? Moore was no better then Cooke is now. People must seem to forget how gutless Moore played. The guy should drop his gloves if someone wants retribution after making that hit then following up the next game playing dirty and running your gate all game. Coward.

    Hart Trophy Nominees

Yeah but Henrik showed that he could produce without Daniel on his line at the same pace so he isn't dependent on him for points. Henrik is a great play maker. Right on the same level as Crosby and Henrik showed it this year. With Crosby out the Pens keep on chugging. Had Henrik went down I don't know if the same could be said because Vancouver doesn't have much else to score.

    Todd, Big Bad, Bertuzzi!

I've always said it was his fault combined with his team for piling on top of him. I honestly think(and rip me if you want) if Moore would have done what he should`ve instead instead of acting like a coward all game that all this could've been avoided. When you head hunt for the league leading scorer there is going to be retribution especially back then. It sucks that he broke his neck but Moore was gutless, dirty player like Cooke and I see lots of people on here wishing Cooke would have his career ended.

    Hart Trophy Nominees

Guerin might be old but he still has scoring touch, Kunitz on the other hand seems somewhat offensively retarded so I'll give you that one. But honestly I had Burrows for fantasy at the beginning of the season when he wasn't with the Sedins and he nothing at all. Burrows is a product of playing with someone like Henrik that makes him better. Not to mention who Crosby plays with on the PP is twice as stacked as Vancouver's.
  23. newfy

    Todd, Big Bad, Bertuzzi!

A punch to the head isn't too far. It was just unfortunate that his own players piled on him and the weight broke his neck. We all scream for Cooke's career to be ended and this guy was no better so who cares really?

WCSF Game 1 GDT: Red Wings 3 at Sharks 4

It'll be nice playing a team that isn't nearly as fast as Phoenix. That seems to be something that always gives the wings trouble. This series will be more physical. I would like Kronwall to introduce himself to Marleau or Heatley early and Abdelkader better be all over their D all game long to set the tone for the series. Cleary might step up playing another Newfy in Clowe. Hopefully he wants to remain the only Newfy to win the cup and plays like it

    Hart Trophy Nominees

I wouldn't say that Crosby has worst linemates. I'm pretty sure he was playing with Pony and Guerin alot who are very compareable to Burrows and D. Sedin. When Burrows isn't with the Sedin's he does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Sedin's linemates aren't anything special, neither are Crosby's except Crosby plays on a lethal PP where Sedin plays with his line. Malkin, Gonchar on the PP with Crosby compared to Burrows and like Bieksa or Edler for god's sake. People always say Crosby plays with bad linemates but how much did Crosby do in the finals the last few years and they still managed the cup last year.
