2 goals in game 2 when it meant nothing really because the game was won already. Stats aren't everything, just the way he played in general was just totally uninspired. Thats why ppl were on him and not Dats nearly as much. Those 2 assists aren't hard to get playing on the PP and everything with world class players.
-
Yeah they can obviously get worse, but why was he completely fine until the last game of the season, then the first round comes along and all of a sudden his shoulder has completely deteriorated?
-
I didnt see him getting called up because Abdelkader and May both kinda cover the same game as Tardif does. I wouldnt say his time is up quite yet however.
-
Yeah, but he was a powerforward player for us in the regular season when he was still hurt. He always used his body to protect the puck etc. The fact that he shyed away in playoffs shows he didn't want it because he did it fine until the end of the regular season. Its weird how as soon as playoffs started his bum shoulder was the complete cause for him playing bad. Excuses are like assholes, everybody has one. The shoulder was Hossa's
-
Yeah he wasn't right against Pittsburg because it was a big game. Therefore he choked. So now that its been established that he was hurt during the regular season as well and still scored 40 goals, whats your excuse for your boyfriend choking in the playoffs?
-
I think the fact that Babcock says he has a plan means we'll probably see some lineup changes. Abdelkader the most likely by far, Babcock likes his style of player. He also was the one that wanted May brought here so we might see him yet. May will probably get some playing time against Vancouver since he brings a physical presence and of course would be nice to have for the end of games when all the gooning takes place. Him and Ab will be a good 1,2 punch.
-
It may not have been the strongest competition but it was a team good enough to make the frozen 4 which is still pretty good. 5 assists in a big game like that is huge as well. Smith is gonna be a great NHLer I think. From what I've heard he's not scared of physical play either.
-
I really don't think Williams has higher offensive upside then Abdelakder, especially come playoff time. During the regular season if you give Abdelkader different line mates then Maltby and May or the PP time Williams got and he would've gotten way more points as well. In the playoffs Abdelakder is a big body thatll go to the net and get the dirty goals, Williams I doubt will score much if at all in the playoffs because of the physical nature .

Haha listen to you, you've posted for one day and you already know I'm a complete Homer and a joke? You have no idea how bad his injury was either? Unless youre in the dressing room, but even then you probably wouldn't know because by the way you talk you'd have your lips around his cock the whole time. I never blamed him completely for the loss, but he played like s***. One of many reasons we lost the series. If your boyfriend would have played like he was even worth half his 7 million dollar salary we woulda won. Lidstrom got surgery during the playoffs, missed 2 games and was back in full form with messed up testicles. Cleary, completely torn groin and a broken bone in his hand, Hossa a sore shoulder where he could skate completely fine but was avoiding contact and playing uninspired. Hossa was injured for the finals, whats your excuse for your boyfriend all the rounds before that? Hossas the joke not me

The handedness doesn't matter as much on our PP. The D don't even switch sides unless its 5 on 3 most of the times. And I'm pretty sure Ericcson and Willy shoot the same hand?
-
I think we should keep Eaves. He's got more scoring potential out of the two, he's more physical and has shown that he will rough it up a bit more then Miller. He seems to have great chemistry with Helm and if you add Abdelakder on that line next season they'll be one of the stronger third lines in the league. Theres no way both are kept and Abdelakder is lost, no way in hell.
-
And you have an obvious hard on for Hossa. Datsyuk was skating great and killing penalties like always. He didn't get points but he wasnt obviously bad like Hossa was, Hossa looked like s***. Especially for a guy who jumped ship to win a cup he should've played a lot better. The commentators were constantly saying it was the best slump they've ever seen. Get off Hossa's dick and realize he played awful last year in the playoffs. There is absolutely no way around it. And no I'm not a homer I'm one of the few here that are usually critical about the wings and don't think Kenny is god.
-
I'm not saying he's a career choker. I'm saying LAST YEAR he choked. Datsyuk looked like the best player on the ice even though he was playing hurt and not scoring last year. The commentators were constantly saying " This is the best slump I've ever seen." Hossa was invisible last year. Sure he's been good in the playoffs before but last year, no he played like s***.
-
I never said Ericcson had balls. But I wouldnt say he's completely lacking. He's one of the few that can drop the gloves and handle themselves on this team and clear the crease. Either way, Ericcson doesn't have someone like Abdelkader to come in and replace him come playoff time that will out perform him that much and he was a beast in last years playoffs. Maybe Janik or OKT have more balls but we wont see them, we'll see Lebda replace Ericcson if he plays poorly.
-
Hossa is an example of a guy who gets by on skills in the regular season. Come playoffs when hard work trumps skill, well look what happened. To say that injury is what caused him to play bad is retarded. He looked bad in the first couple rounds as well. He scored 2 goals in game 2 of the first and second series. Not exactly when he was needed. You can't say that last year he didn't disappear in the playoffs because he did. You go from scoring 40 to being the team scapegoat in the playoffs. He choked hard.
-
Ok if his injury was that bad, he would've been out of the line up. He was skating fine and could stick handle when he wanted too. He was just inconsistent and along for the ride. He has no heart at all. Cleary played with a broken hand and a torn groin and still looked like one of the best on the ice.
-
So I think its agreed, Williams is a ***** and Abdelakder isn't so He needs to play in the playoffs. Ericcson second PP
-
You'd take Eaves or Miller over Ab? He played with Maltby and May all year so he didn't get points, he has top 2 line potential, something Eaves might reach with Detroit and Miller is a career third liner. Eaves will probably be a third liner his whole life too. Abdelakder could end up being a strong third line anchor or solid second liner that can hit and fight. Not too mention Abdelakder is outta options and has to stay up next year. They'll drop Miller if they have to to keep Abdelakder up next season.
-
Sign Winchester this offseason Kenny. Clean hit, answered the bell.
-
Yeah and he had 2 in the finals last year. Youre not gonna score alot playing with May and Maltby all year. I actually think Babcock wanted Ab learning from May all year.
-
Put Abdelkader in the lineup for playoffs. He'll be our biggest hitter, he scores clutch goals, and he can fight well enough to handle any of the pests on the other teams. Williams does none of the above.
-
Playing the point on the second PP does not justify him playing in playoffs over Abdelkader thats for sure. Abdelakder is a clutch performer and a huge hitter. He can also handle the pests on other teams since most heavyweight fighters wont be playing much. Really Williams looks horrible on the PP. He shoots when he shouldn't and somehow ended up in the corner with no outlets twice last night. Stuart or Ericcson would be twice as effective since both have heavy shots. They also play defense which means when someone does bring the puck back at them they know how to defend. Babcock frustrates me when he sits Ericcson on the PP for that plug. Let Ericcson play and get some confidence built up.
-
I really don't think theres any way we dont take him if he falls to our pick unless a sniper falls down alot. That being said I doubt we'll have a pick where we can take him, its just really, really, really wishful thinking unfortunately. But since he was highlighted on that list I'll just keep a little hope haha.
-
Damnit UK, hold onto hope that Babs can swing Kennys mind a bit. Its not like we're talking about a fighter here, we're talking a first round talent that 5 years down the road will be the toughest in the league and a stellar defender. I don't think even Kenny can turn that down.
