The thing I think the thing that gives him a better chance at making the wings is his mean streak. He's defensively responsible like Ellis and can PK but he also lays big hits and drops the gloves. We all know Babs likes a guy like this and hes only what 24?

He seems like the type of player Babcock would vouch for to have in the line up. Adding a guy like him on the 4th line, Abdelkader and maybe one more guy not necessarily an enforcer but like a Travis Moen type would really make this team alot tougher. I just hope he doesn't end up like a Ben Ondrus type guy from the leafs.

What does everyone here who has seen Tardif play think this up coming season? Has he had enough AHL time and is ready to come up in a 13th forward role or is this guy a career AHLer because of his speed?

Andrej finished the season with 51 points in 50 games and also has 2 goals and 1 assist in 4 playoff games so far. I just wish he wasn't in the no defense Q. It would be so much easier to get a read on the guy. He definitely has size and seems like he doesn't mind physicality in all the reports though.

Now I know Jan isn't a bone crushing hitter but is he physical and throws the occasional hit? I've seen him fight a few times and not done too bad but I was wondering about his checking ability. I remember him from his days with the Bulls when I held season tickets for the Sting but jsut can't eem to remember if he was physical or not. Any insight would be appreciated.

I honestly wouldn't be happy with going to the WCF I want to either win it all or lose early. If we aren't going to win in the end our players could use a longer summer and replenishing the farm with a somehwat high draft pick for once wouldn't make me too angry either.

Canada wouldn't be in a state of panic for losing to Russia. If they got blown out like Russia did then maybe but I think everyone knew it was 2 of the top teams going against each other.

It depends. Right now I wouldn't change anything at all but Cleary is the first guy I would bump from the bottom lines to a scoring line if the scoring dried up. He gives those lines a hard forecheck and still has a scoring threat. I'm assuming everyone remembers what he did to Phaneuf a few years back?

Cleary is one of our best playoff performers. Are you forgetting he earned an invite to the Team Canada camp because of his play last playoffs? Not to mention he is one of our grittier forwards probably 2nd behind Helm and you need guys like that in the playoffs. Seriously I'm completely in favour of sitting Williams For Abs especially in a physical series. Williams is replaceable on the PP. I wouldnt change anything right now though with the streak we're riding.

Nothing wrong with those comments at all. Even if Babcock is taking a shot at Ozzy, good. The guy plays lights out in the playoffs then can't make a save in teh regular season to save his life. He is the pinnacle of inconsistency. WIth Howard I really think we've got a goalie for the future and can count on him for years to come. He needs some playoff experience this year.

I dont think the big name signing will happen unless Lids hangs them up. I can however see a signing like Colby Armstrong instead of Bert and would love that signing. Armstrong is a great player. I don't wanna see WWellwood(hes lazy and he sucks.. not joking), and I think Torres could be a decent player here. Armstrong and Torres are both fairly physical players but can still produce, kinda like a younger Bert so I could see them replacing him on teh roster. Oh and if we could sign Clarkson off an offer sheet I would go nuts. He's the fighter everyone talks about here. Can play and fight, he's like a young Chris Neil or maybe Mccarty sinceh e's more of a light heavy.

If Doan didn't make it Brown wouldn't have. Brown is a good player but Doan is better and pretty much the exact same style. If Stamkos didn't make it Ryan doesn't either. Miller is the only for sure that would've made it and Parise would have been borderline.

Everyone is forgetting about how good Cleary plays in the playoffs. He deserves his money for the playoffs alone, he played so good last year he got invited to the team Canada camp. That says somethnig considering they won gold.

Well there was field hockey but actual ice hockey is straight up Canadian. Natives in Canada used to sharpen bones and wear them on their feet to go across lakes and rivers hunting (no joke). Those were the first skates then settlers saw this and made a game out of it.

Read my post again. It says not as bad as everyone is making it seem. Just cause he got a concussion doesn't mean its a terribly dirty hit and I don't think it was nearly as bad as some people are saying. I never once said it wasn't bad.

We've only watched E play with Lebda not Lilja. Maybe with Lilja E will look just as good or better then Lebda has. I tihnk the not allowing doche bags round the net factor is partially why E is in against the flames. And I also think he handles the physicallity of a team like Calgary better then Lebda does.
