That's a really good point. Especially looking at most of the available players asking for much more than they're worth. I bet he gets 5M easily on the open market. In all honestly, claiming him might actually be the smarter move. Not so sure Kenny will do that, but economically it makes perfect sense

Really don't want Alfredsson, cause there's many other younger options. But I guess I wouldn't be heartbroken if we get him. Even at his old age he can still produce. Maybe not quite at the 35 year old Alfredsson pace, but he can still contribute. Definitely hope we pass on him though. Especially considering we need a center, not a winger.

Would love to have Grabo in the winged wheel. Would be a perfect fit for our system. And the guy plays well defensively too! He played on Pavel's line in the KHL and they had really good chemistry together. Seriously please Kenny sign this guy!

Seriously?? I really hope that's not true. If so, Weiss can go sign with someone else. 6M per year is outrageous

Wow I didn't even know we had interest in Alfredsson. I'm definitely torn on bringing him in. I mean yes he is still an effective player in this league. But we all know how ancient the guy is. Who knows if his body will even hold up for another (82 game) season. Seems too risky when there are younger options out there.

Not sure if this has been brought up yet, but today TSN is reporting that the Wings have legit interest in Tyler Bozak. IMO Weiss would be the better option to replace Fil. Bozak is a pretty solid player don't get me wrong. But really only seemed to shine on a line with Kessel and Lupul. I would even say Ribeiro before Bozak

I really wanted Clarkson, but looks like he's asking for more than Holland is willing to pay. Personally, I think he's the type of player we should overpay to get... For now I'm gonna stick with the "in Kenny we trust" philosophy, but so far this has been quite a disappointing day...

Tatar is safe. When asked about which of the young guys will be permanent Red Wings next season Holland said, "Tatar, Nyquist, Andersson, Dekeyser, and Lashoff." It was on that hour special Q&A hosted by Mickey Redmond a few days back. -

That's the problem though, we don't play him in the bottom 6. He played in the TOP 6 every game he played, which is obviously quite ridiculous and yet another reason why I and most others don't want him back -

If Cleary gets 3 mill I think I will officially rage. The guy should be in the 1.5-2mill TOPS. Any more than that and Kenny is throwing money down the toilet. Although I must re-state we should NOT be re-signing him to ANY contract -

I'm glad Big Bert is coming back. When healthy he brings so much to the table. And plays really well with Pavel (who doesn't though?haha). And he's one of our best shootout guys! If worse come to worse and he re-injures his back, we obviously have a lot of options to take his place. Love me some Bertuzzi! -

I do agree, but Clarkson brings an element we haven't really had in awhile. A tough guy that can score. Definitely not heartbroken but disappointed that he's asking for so much -

According to Darren Dreger's twitter, the Dallas Stars have been eliminated from contention for Vinny L. At this point it's hard to predict where he'll go. But since Dallas and Detroit are both out of the running, one would have to assume the Habs are the favorites -
