Just did some reading up on Acute Myeloid Leukemia, and it turns out, it's a curable disease. Especially if caught early. So hopefully it isn't already in an advanced state.

It seems like that was to a girl that he knows well in real life. Her messages to him is what tipped me off. Could be his wife, or girlfriend. Can't remember if he's still married or not.

One of the most important role players we've ever had. He gave us soooooo many amazing memories. Def gonna start following him.

Stastny and Liles not on Ice at Avs Practice
TheDetroitRedWings replied to mmamolo's topic in General
He loves Americans?? There's a grand total of 3 Americans on the Leafs active roster. The Red Wings have more Americans than they do. By your logic, Ken Holland must get a hard on when he sees an American. -

2011 NHL Trade Deadline Thread - February 28th, 3:00 PM ET
TheDetroitRedWings replied to NeverForgetMac25's topic in General
As much as I hate the Pens, I gotta admit I think this is a great trade for them. Even tho Neal has been struggling lately, he does have over 20 goals so far this season. And he's young and has tons of potential and upside. Pens won out on this trade for sure. -
Blues scored HUGE in this trade. Almost can't even believe Colorado traded away 2 young promising players for a less than impressive Johnson and worthless McClement. Stewart wasn't having as good of a year as he did last year, but he has 30 points in 36 games played. Not too shabby. And he's young and has so much potential. Same goes with Shattenkirk. Avs just made a horrible move. And just helped one of our division rivals get alot better in the short term and long term.

2/17 GDT: Red Wings 6 at Lightning 2
TheDetroitRedWings replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Been obsessed with Steve Yzerman since I was 5 years old (back in 1989). So naturally Tampa Bay instantly became my second favorite NHL team once Stevie took over the reigns. And I've rooted for them all year. But tonight if a different story. GO RED WINGS BABY!!! TAKE IT TO 'EM!!! -

I wouldn't mind adding one solid d-man as long as we don't have to give up too much. Would be nice to have some more insurance in case of injury. And to me, Kindl is far from insurance.

#1 - How many Stanley cups do you guys see us winning? 3 #2 - Is Jimmy Howard capable of winning a cup with this team? Yes, however I have a feeling after this season or next season we might give another goalie a chance between the pipes. #3 - Will Kronwall still be on this roster? No, Kronwall seems to be fairly injury prone at his young age, so 10 years from now I doubt he'll even be in the league anymore. #4 - Will Chelios be re-signed ? Without a doubt
-
I'm very confident that Drapes will retire a Red Wing.
-
Can't think of a 3rd line d pairing rookie off the top of my head. Point is, Kindl brings little to nothing to the table, which is why he'll be right back down to GR as soon as Brad Stuart comes back. And while he's back in the AHL(where he belongs), 99% of other teams 3rd line D pairings will still be in the NHL.
-
Gonna have to pull a Babcock here, "I couldn't disagree more." lol I have NHL center ice and all I do at night is watch hockey from around the league. I'll take many other team's 3rd D pairings over Kindl.
-
I'm not looking for him to be Nick Lidstrom. I'm looking for the guy to be responsible with the puck and actually connect on one or two good passes. He's a complete scrub. I pray for Brad Stuart's return.
-
God I can't wait for Brad Stuart's return. Not only to get a quality defenseman back in Stuart, but to send WORTHLESS Kindl back down to GR. The dude is a turnover machine and can't pass the puck accurately to save his life.

I definitely feel for him. As I found out I also might have the same disease. I severely injured my jaw November 2009 and as a result, I have ringing in my left ear that is sometimes deafeningly loud. It's not for sure Meniere's Disease, but it's possible that's what I have developed. Luckily, I have no dizzyness or hearing loss. But the constant ringing is sometimes very soul crushing. And lost my health insurance 2 weeks before this all started, so I've had to live with this for over a year now. But as of March 1st my new health insurance kicks in. So hopefully I can get surgery to correct this. Part of me actually hopes I do have Meniere's Disease, because its a disease that burns out and goes away over time. I just don't wanna have to live with this for the rest of my life. Hopefully Ritola gets over this soon. I'm sure he will eventually.

NYI ... G Poulin injured during warmups
TheDetroitRedWings replied to RedWingsRox's topic in General
Amazing how they pick up Nabby because they supposedly were so desperate for a goalie. Yet they don't have any interest in Mike Smith or Ray Emery?? Garth Snow is a complete moron. And on top of that, it's even more ridiculous considering Poulin and DiPietro were both healthy at the time they stole Nabby away from us. Now they're hurting for goalies MUCH more now, yet they put no claim on either Smith or Emery??? -

Atta boy Brent! Show 'em how they do it in Farmington, Michigan! Hate the Pens, but I've always liked Brent Johnson. Also used to love his "Led Zeppelin" themed goalie mask. Not sure if he still rocks that or not tho.

Nabokov claimed by NYI, refuses to report, suspended
TheDetroitRedWings replied to Matt's topic in General
Does anyone else think it's a lock that we sign him in the offseason once he gets his 'free agent' status back? I'm thinking it's a for sure thing. -

Now he sits with no team for the rest of the season. Then in the offseason he will be a free agent again. And thinking logically, he'll most likely sign with the Wings.
