This list is taking defense into account too. So it's really not that far off. I don't agree with it fully, but I've seen much worse lists before.
-
I was at Red Wings vs blackhawks a few weeks before Fischer's heart incident, and this time Barnaby dropped em and Fischer pounded him. lol
-
Yeah, he always shows up in the post season. But obviously there's something Babcock sees (or doesn't see) in Abby that keeps getting him sent down to GR every regular season.

Sucks at hockey except for the physical aspect? Happy Gilmore anyone? lol The Price is wrong....*****
-
Kocur has to be in the top 5. Even Bob Probert himself said Kocur was the toughest fighter he had ever seen. Although Probert himself is clearly number 1 on that list.

Other than the obvious Gretzky records, I think I can say with confidence that no rookie will ever score 76 goals again.

NHL Rejects Kovalchuk's Contract
TheDetroitRedWings replied to Greatness=PavelDatsyuk's topic in General
I'm a little surprised actually. Not because I disagree with the NHL on this. Cause I definitely agree with the rejection. But if they allowed Hossa's deal, how can they truly justify rejecting Ilya's deal? Hossa's deal is basically just as bad considering he is older than Kovalchuk. Yet another prime example of the NHL being inconsistent. What a shocker. -
I'm officially starting to get annoyed by how long this is dragging out. Modano himself has already said he knows the sooner he makes his decision the better. Especially for the Red Wings, cause if he decides to retire or go to another team, the Wings need time to make a few signings. But with each passing day that goes by, the market gets smaller and smaller, leaving us with less options. Mike better make his decision sometime this week. Cause if he doesn't, I think it's time for us to move on and get our team's roster set.

Olimb must be one frail hockey player. That fight didn't look damaging at all.
-
Baseball, free agency watching, fantasy football preparation, and beautiful summer weather. Still can't wait for October though!
-
Since when have the Blackhawks been in the Modano hunt?
-
Bottom line is Detroit gives Modano the best chance to go out on top with a Cup. The sharks are a good team and all, but they lost basically their MVP in Nabokov. Nabby had the best season of his career last year for the Sharks. With no Nabby, Sharks are definitely not nearly as good. And they couldn't even get to the finals WITH Nabokov. Whereas here in Detroit, we have a goalie in Jimmy Howard who was top 5 in GAA and top 5 in save %, and is now a year older and more experienced. With our overall lineup, Mike has a great chance to win a Cup this season. So I definitely expect him to choose Detroit over the others. Especially since Minnie is a bottom feeder.
-
The difference might come down to which team he will have the biggest role with. I doubt San Jose would put Mike on their 2nd line (and they don't even have a goaltender). But I could see the Wild making Modano their 2nd line center. And who knows, maybe that's enough to sway him. I'm just hoping that he'll finish his career at home with his family. Also, if the injury bug hits, he could get some time on our 2nd line. Let's just hope 3rd line center and being back home is good enough for him.

Dan Gilbert's message to fans regarding LeBron James
TheDetroitRedWings replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in Other Sports
The way Cleveland fans are reacting is beyond disgraceful. If it wasn't for Lebron, no one would even know Cleveland has a basketball team. They were perennial losers for a long long time before they drafted Lebron. And their biggest stars before Lebron was Mark f-ing Price and Shawn Kemp. And Kemp didn't even play for them in his prime. Then along comes Lebron and takes that joke of a franchise out of the basement and into a perennial contender. Those fans should be grateful for the 7 long years Lebron spent there and what he did for their city. But no, they're ungrateful sore losers that just show they have zero class. If Gilbert really thinks Lebron is a disgrace and that he "quit" in 2 different playoff runs, then why the HELL was Gilbert trying to re-sign him to a max deal??? A max deal that would have payed Lebron over 15 million more than any other team that wanted him. This is an obvious case of being all pissed off and mad because Lebron chose greener pastures. Gilbert reminds me of a guy that just got dumped by his gf. It's pathetic behavior from cavs fans and even more pathetic behavior from Gilbert. Can't wait to see Lebron, D-Wade and Bosh light the cavs up this season! Take that classless cavs fans! -
Lebron made his decision. Time for Modano to make his. I'm really he hoping we sign him!
-
That's ALL Lebda brings to the table at this point. Speed and speed only. Not sure which player you thought you were watching. But Lebda's passing ability is nothing to write home about. His shot has seamed to get worse and worse over the past few years. And he's atrocious defensively. But atleast it sounds like he's great at buying beer. He'll be able to buy even more beer with that insane pay raise Burke just gave him.

Dude, Lilja didn't even own the "europuss." He won the fight. But he definitely didn't own him. I respect Lilja for the fact that he drops the gloves now and then. But lets not kid ourselves and act like he's a great fighter by any means.
-
He didn't look great. But he did win the fight. I'll give him that. Not saying I still want him in Detroit. But at least he had the balls to drop the gloves every now and then.
-
Whats even crazier than this signing, is the reception Lebda's already getting from Leaf fans over at TSN. They are basically praising him and acting like he's a top 4 defenseman. Clearly they haven't been watching the Wings lately. They're gonna be one disappointed group. Lebda isn't even a good 5-6 d-man. Let alone top 4.
-
Wow. Can't believe any team out there is willing to give Lebda this kind of money. I've actually liked alot of Burke's signings. But this one is beyond laughable. Lebda is a bum. Maple Leaf fans will find that out real quick. Only thing going for Lebda at this point is his speed. He can still burn. But he's a joke defensively, and his offense has fallen off the map for years now.

Still not sure how I feel about Brunnstrom actually. I mean he did sorta bust outta the gate initially. But he hasn't seamed to stay incredibly consistent. I could see him turning into a really good NHler. But I could also see him staying at his current level and maybe even regressing to an extent. Personally, I would pass on Brunnstrom donning the Winged Wheel.

Totally forgot about that fact. I definitely don't wanna lose Ritola all together. So yeah I take that back.

No sarcasm at all actually. And no worries about the job bashing. We were both being assholes that night. lol We're human, it happens. I too apologize for any jackassary from that night. Was having a bad week.
