A few weeks ago I was on some web page that has every detroit sports athlete's twitter account. And there was no Red Wings to be found. There are a few former Wings though. Brendan Shanahan and Sean Avery are both on there. But thats it.

I like this move for both teams. But in the short term, obviously Boston gains more. A healthy Nathan Horton should really help Boston's overall offensive performance. And Greg Campbell is a very underrated player. The Bruins will definitely be in the hunt in the east next season.

How is a poll redundant?? Tons of people vote on polls that didn't necessarily engage in thread discussion. By your logic, we should just scrap all polls because we can always just discuss things in threads. I wanted a cut and dry, view of the number of fans that would want him. Simple as that. You must really be down about that 20 seconds you wasted on reading my post. Especially considering you've now wasted several minutes in replying. Point is, there is a feature in creating polls which you can set to make it just a poll. So there being another Modano thread doesn't mean my poll should have just been deleted. I may have been a tad peeved about it, but I still have a legit beef. You on the other hand, must be one bored little boy to make this much out of my circumstance. Run along now little tyke. Thanks alot to the brilliant mod who decided to merge my POLL with a current Modano thread. I wanted to see how the numbers broke down with Wings fans wanting him for the right price. But now the poll is long gone. AWESOME. Sheer brilliance there moderator! Ya know, you could have just asked me to lock the poll to prevent comments and just keep it a poll only. Thanks again!

It's looking more and more like Mike Modano's days in Dallas are numbered. Also, it's looking like he might still wanna play NHL hockey next season. So the question is, for the right price, would you be okay with Mike Modano playing in the Winged Wheel? I remember several years ago Mike said he would love to come back home and play some day. And I know he is near the twilight of his career, but he did have pretty good numbers last year considering he was on Dallas' 3rd and 4th lines all season. What do you guys think?

Definitely sounds like New Jersey wants some insurance in case they can't re-sign Kovalchuk. Not that Arnott is near Kovalchuk's level, but still, definitely helps add depth and gives them a guy with leadership, a physical presence, and someone who can win crucial faceoffs. I like this move for the devils. But like I said, he is certainly no Kovy.

If Kenny re-signs Kirk "waste of a roster spot" Maltby, I will be more than just disappointed...

I still only have my red ccm Yzerman jersey. And I wear it on two occasions. If I'm at the Joe, or watching playoff games on tv. Other then that it stays in my closet until the next game I go to, or when the playoffs start back up. Sort of a superstition for me.

Anyone know if Babchuk is still under contract in the KHL? I'm not sure what his situation is, but I know he would be a great pickup for us since it's looking more and more like we're not adding forwards, but only going to add a d-man or two. Babchuk is a pretty fast skater, he's good defensively, and can score goals in bunches. I would love to see him in the winged wheel. Anyone know if this is possible?

I hate to exploit Bertuzzi's comments. But if the guy is saying he'll play with us or retire, I say give him league minimum. Not to say he's only worth league minimum, but if he accepted a dirt cheap contract that would obviously help the team out immensely. And if he's going to retire anyway, why not accept a cheap deal?

I'm definitely happy that Lidstrom is coming back for another year. But I really thought he would take a much bigger pay cut. He's still an above average defenseman. But his production last season doesn't seam to warrant a 6.5 mill deal. I was thinking more like 5 mill. Hopefully he will play lights out all year.

I heard a few months ago that Todd will be willing to take a pay cut to stay with the Wings. So if thats the case, then I say we must keep him. Especially in this post cap era. Getting a decent player for dirt cheap is a must if we have the opportunity. And from what I hear, we have that opportunity with Bert.

You must be really young. Or you have a terrible memory. Steve Yzerman absolutely turned this franchise around. We didn't even get Nick till 1990. Yzerman had already taken the "dead wings" from a bottom feeder, to a playoff team before we even drafted Lidstrom. Yzerman was a one man wrecking crew, and was just as good defensively as he was offensively (6th all time in points). Yzerman deserves by far more credit than any other former or current Red Wing.

I don't feel the slightest bit betrayed. He wants to be a GM in the NHL. No betrayal whatsoever. But that still doesn't take away from the fact that I'm bummed out that he's gone. He's been a Red Wing for 26 years. I thought he would be a Red Wing for life. He should have been given assistant GM status here in Detroit. That might have kept him with the Wings. It just sucks knowing that during the rare event that the Wings play the lightning, Steve Yzerman, Mr. Detroit Hockey, will be rooting against the Red Wings...

Still really pissed off that the Sharks basically had the entire series handed to them by the refs. But there's no way I will root on Chicago. So I guess by default I'll root for the Sharks. But I'm still hoping that whoever comes out of the east wins the cup.
