    Abdelkader Ready if Needed

Hopefully we won't need him. But it sure is nice to know we have a guy like that standing by in case the injury bug hits. I can't wait for the playoffs!! So stoked!!!

Tkachuck to retire at season's end

I'll always remember Tkachuk as a Coyote, back when they had those hideous jerseys. Seamed like that guy would always burn us. I remember their top line was Tkachuk, Roenick and someone else. And they always played us really tough. He definitely had a great career. Too bad he had to finish it out with the crappy blues..

Should the Wings part ways with Osgood?

With all this Osgood talk, I was really curious to see how the numbers would break down in terms of who still wants him, and who doesn't. Personally, I really hope we part ways with him. I still love his legacy in Detroit. And I'll never forget all he has done. But with every sport, this is a what have you done for me lately world. And the fact is, Osgood isn't even mediocre anymore. He has been very sub-par. I think the sooner we move on, the sooner the Wings can acquire a capable and consistent back up in case anything ever happens to Jimmy. Someone we can put in and still be just as confident in our team getting the win. I know he is under contract for one more year. But I feel strongly that we need to move on. This thread is a poll only. There are already enough discussion threads on Osgood.

Should the Wings part ways with Osgood?

Looks like the numbers are almost even. Slightly more want Osgood still. But very close to even so far.

    Right on brotha.

Should the Wings part ways with Osgood?

No worries. I didn't know that you didn't see the poll only part. And I didn't mean to single you out. You were just the first one to begin to debate the subject. No big deal though. I just didn't want the mods getting annoyed by multiple similar threads.

Should the Wings part ways with Osgood?

My original point was the fact that there are several Osgood related threads. So I didn't want this thread to turn into yet another one. And no you can't discuss and make comments in any thread you want. I have the option to lock out comments and turn the thread into a poll only. But just in case people had any questions I decided to leave it open. I tried to make it clear that this was a poll only. Might wanna lose that attitude though buddy. I was saying bro in a lighthearted way, not a cocky dickhead way. If you wanna keep making this thread an Osgood debate thread I will lock the comment option. I just wanted to see how the numbers broke down in terms of who still wants Ozzie and who doesn't. Simple as that.

Should the Wings part ways with Osgood?

This is suppose to be a poll only bro. There are 4-5 other threads where we can discuss Ozzie.

Yeah good thinking. I'll do that.

    Cap to $57.7m

Any rise to the cap is nothing but a good thing for the Red Wings. We all know Ilitch will spend as much as he can to help the team. Hopefully the cap continues to rise as the seasons go by.

    1-7-2

The big reason I hope we move on from Osgood is the hope that we'll get a solid reliable backup for Jimmy. Think about it, if Jimmy got hurt tomorrow and was out for 4-6 months, chances are we would be in big big trouble. So hopefully next season we'll have a capable consistent backup that would be able to come in if the worst happens to Howard, and we can all still feel confident about our team's chances. Howard's durability right now could literally make or break our chances of bringing home Lord Stanley's Cup. I pray that he stays healthy for the rest of the season and post season.

    Osgood to start Sunday

I hope Ozzie gets a shutout in dominating fashion. However I will slightly agree with you on one thing; anyone who actually wants Oz to start in the playoffs for us has obviously not been watching Red Wings hockey (and more specifically Jimmy Howard) this season. If not for Howard, we wouldn't even be in the post season.

    Did everyone else's heart stop?

Yeah, losing Flip would be bad enough, but if we lost Franzen our chances of winning the Cup would basically be slim to none. Thank God they're both okay.

    The Blackhawks are Done

HAHAHAHA Oh man that was so hilarious! Clicked on the link and instantly busted out laughing! For a second I was like, what is Tyler Kennedy doing in a blackhawks jersey?? That mural is so freaking priceless! LOL!

Yeah I love that Gordie is still going strong at age 82. Hope he has a very Happy Birthday!

Ville Leino 1/3 of Philly's offensive unit

Pretty sure most 3rd/4th line players would play a lot better on a line with Gagne and Briere, rather than on a teams 3rd and 4th lines. I don't regret letting Leino go whatsoever. Put Drew Miller on a line with Gagne and Briere and I guarantee his production goes way up.

    Ideal Playoff Matchups

Personally I want the Hawks in the 1st round. Their goaltending isn't just bad, it's terrible. Huet has been insanely bad, and Niemi hasn't been much better. I didn't realize how bad it's been for them until I was looking to pick up a goalie in my fantasy league. Both Huet and Niemi were both available to be picked up. And I didn't want either of them when I clicked on their stats for the past 20 games. Also, we've already shown that now that we're healthy, we can dominate the Hawks. Plus, just a 1 hour time difference is a lot better than the 3 hour difference we would have to deal with if we face the Sharks or the Yotes. And how great would it be to send Hossa home in the 1st round?? Man I want the Hawks bad!

    Howard punching crybaby shirt

I love what Howard did as much as the next Red Wing fan. But at no point did Howard "punch" Sid. He definitely gave him a good face wash. And he certainly stood up for Hank. But not one punch was thrown. I'm so sick of seeing groups on facebook taking about how Howard punched Sid in the face. I mean don't get me wrong, I would be sooo stoked if Sid got punched in the face. But the fact is, it didn't happen that night. Still, definitely a cool shirt!

    Happy Anniversary

I'll never forget that day. I was just a 13 year old kid who loved the Red Wings. But after that night, my passion for the Wings became even stronger. Also my hatred for the avs grew stronger. Those were such great memories back then. I miss the days of viewing our Red Wings on an almost mythological level.

Pretty accurate prediction I must say! lol

3/24 GDT: Blues 2 at Red Wings 4

Another huge opportunity for 2 points tonight. This game is definitely no gimmie though. The Blues have been a pretty hot team lately. And more specifically, Conklin has been hot lately. Not sure if they're going to start him or not. But either way, I'm expecting a close competitive game. Of course though I have the Wings coming out on top. GO RED WINGS!!! Red Wings 4 (Hank, Franzen, Miller, Bertuzzi) Blues 2
