Ouch...that's actually a big hit for Team USA. Paul Martin isn't flashy by any means. But he always gets the job done. Huge loss IMO. But no Komisarek sounds like a good thing to me. He's about as overrated as they come. Ryan Whitney will be a solid addition.

The Red Wings sure could have used his services this season. I imagine we'd be about a 4 seed right now if we had the mule all year. Dude is a goal scoring machine.

Wow, really? I'm actually not too impressed with the U.S. defense. Our forwards and goaltending look very promising. But IMO our D looks mediocre at best. But who knows, maybe they'll gell together nicely. But on paper, Canada, Sweden and Russia all have a much more impressive defensive core.

Personally, I think that team is as deep as any in the Olympics. No surprise though, cause Sweden is always pretty deep. The only real surprise is that Hornqvist is playing lights out in the NHL.

Yzerman will continue to be a Red Wing for life. If he ever wants to be a GM, than it will be with Detroit. He'll probably start out as assistant GM, then eventually take over for Kenny. Although I'm guessing it won't happen any time soon. Steve has already made it clear that he enjoys his position with the Red Wings for now.

Yeah, but Lidstrom would have to take a pay cut. There's no way we can continue to pay him 7.5 mill.

If Lidstrom retires, any signing is possible. At least in terms of cap room. Personally I would rather have Marc Savard or Ilya Kovalchuk. But Marleau would be a welcomed addition as well.

Yeah right dude. Stuart is not top d-man material. Other than crushing body checks, he's FAR from impressive. He has a weak ass shot and is almost a defensive liability. No way he's on our top unit. Not a chance.

I would actually like to see Paul Martin in the winged wheel. He's not a flashy player by any means, but he definitely gets the job done consistently. Plus I'm sure we wouldn't have to pay an arm and leg to get him.
