I didn't expect a damn thing. Even if Ozzie started from the beginning in that game I wouldn't have expected much. His reflex speed is pathetic. And his five-hole is mammoth. The only reason I mentioned the Isle game is cause the other poster had stated that Osgood hasn't seen any time in net for a long time. I was correcting him. Cold or not, Osgood has been way below mediocre. Especially in comparison to Jimmy Howard. -

He came in for Howard against the Islanders, and looked absolutely pathetic. Howard has been the far superior goaltender. And not just by a little bit. -
I'll never forget all the amazing memories with Vladdy. I'll also never forget swimming in my pool on a beautiful summer day loving the fact that we were Stanley Cup champions, and my dad came out and broke the news of what happened to Vladdy. I had an instant feeling of dread. What a massive tragedy that was and still is. Vladdy forever.

Yeah, I wish we still had Curtis too. I just know he's gonna have a monster year in his first season with NY. Let's just hope Austin Jackson pans out. He's supposedly better than Granderson in all areas. A better hitter, faster, better defensively, and younger. Hopefully he lives up to that sort of hype.

To me it's a no brainer. We have to stick with Jimmy between the pipes if we make the playoffs. He'll never get playoff experience if we don't give him a chance. Now, if he starts out the gate struggling really bad, then that's a different story. But he's vastly outplayed Osgood on a consistent basis this year. Unless Howard falters, it would be borderline insane to take the starting job away from him for the playoffs. -
I love this move. Let's hope we can make a few more smart moves before the season starts.

I think any time you have a rule made after your agitating (and put into effect the next DAY) you have to be considered one of the best agitators of all time (I.E. The Sean Avery Rule). -
Only problem with that is no team in the league would give that up for Osgood. lol

I'm very much looking forward to Osgood's departure. Time to give some new blood a chance to back up Howard. But as for suggesting a trade...hold on a second while I catch my breath from intense laughter. The only way he leaves Detroit is if he retires this offseason. No way any team in the league will give up anything to get Osgood. Every other team in the league has one, if not two goalies more capable than Osgood in terms of save %, GAA quickness and consistency.

That makes much more sense than the original article indicated. My jaw dropped when they said Drury was getting an "A" on his sweater. Although I'm a little surprised Suter is in that group.

I'm guessing Langenbrunner got it cause he's one of the older players on the team. Parise definitely deserves an "A". But Drury doesn't even deserve to be on the team, so he certainly doesn't deserve an "A" on his sweater.

This isn't the first time two Red Wings fought earlier in their careers. McCarty fought Shanahan. McCarty fought Probert and Kocur. Probert and Kocur fought. Cheli and Robitaille fought. I know I'm forgetting some. But yeah, it definitely happens.
