Bring it on guppies! I know we just lost Homer. But we did just get Hank and Cleary back. And with Howard playing lights out between the pipes, Wings might start to get some swagger back. Let's get a streak going boys!!

Wow, even though I hated Boyd as a Red Wing, a broken neck is f***ed up. Let's hope Boyd as a full recovery.

Brad May Lower Body Injury (Day to Day)

No enforcer? I think you're forgetting about the beast that is Justin Abdelkader. -
Let's hope we start this year off on a winning note. Also, let's hope for our fallen Wings to HEAL. Here's to a healthy 2010!

Should the wings claim Mathieu Schneider off waivers?
TheDetroitRedWings replied to Pat's topic in General
I guess I understand the logic that he's too old and injury prone. But when you have guys like Meech, Janik and Lebda out there, it's kind of hard not to justify giving Mathieu a try as long as we get him through re-entry waivers. No way we will pay him what the Canucks owe him. -
I could see maybe not putting Gomez on the team. But how can you not put Brian Gionta on Team USA??? He must not be large enough for Burke...
-
For the first time in a very long time, Team USA looks pretty stacked. Not super impressed with our D. But our forwards look fantastic. Although Gomez and Gionta definitely got robbed. They're better overall players than Drury and Callahan. Goaltending looks very good also. GO USA BABY!

How irritating that almost every country involved has released their roster to the public. But for some reason team U.S.A. hasn't officially announced the team yet. Sorta ticking me off. Cause it looks like for the first time in a looonng time, team U.S.A. Will be fairly stacked.

Just because Wayne was a dud, doesn't mean Stevie would be a dud as well. For all we know Yzerman has the potential to be a great NHL head coach. But I'm guessing we'll never know, cause it seams Steve is wanting to be a front office guy. As long as Yzerman stays with the Wings organization I'm happy.

Even more impressive considering Shane Doan has not played that well so far. But they do have a shut down goalie. I think Holland needs to take note. Goaltending is by far the most important position in hockey. Bryz has stole quite a few games for the yotes. I hope they make the playoffs when it's all said and done.

Umm, yeah this is a Hossa thread bud. Save your Fedorov talk for a Fedorov thread.

I'm not saying we should boo the guy. But you do remember that he signed with our DIVISION RIVALS for the next 10 years right??? Like I said, I don't think he should be booed. But I can certainly understand the resentment towards him.

Even from s***tsburgh, that's pretty shocking. I don't care how long ago it was, that's just humor I will never understand. I could never laugh at the thought of a man dying in a plane crash...

Couldn't agree more. Let's hope Mickey continues to do games for years to come. There will never be another Mickey Redmond. One of a kind, a class act. And let's not forget he was the Red Wings first EVER 50 goal scorer (unbelievable considering how long we had Gordy). Mickey Redmond forever!!!

Well, at least no one was hurt. Equipment can always be replaced.

He's not just good, he's the best 155 lbs fighter ever. If GSP was BJ Penn's size BJ would have destroyed him. Pound for pound there is no better all around mixed martial artist than BJ Penn.

I assume you MUST be referring to his post-canuck career. If not, you must have a short memory. Considering this guy was a back to back 50 goal scorer with the nucks. Bert was absolutely a superstar back then.
