My bad dude. I didn't read the time of the edited post. You did call it. Impressive.

I hope you people are kidding. He clearly edited his post after MTL already scored.

I'm hoping for a shootout in Toronto.

I see Flip as a 50-60 point player this season. -
Anyone know why we aren't including tonight's games???

My guess is Shanny will be announcing his retirement sometime in the next couple weeks. Although It would be sweet to sign him so he can retire a Red Wing.

Just for the record, I had just got done watching the Tigers blow another game in extra innings. I didn't really mean f*** the tigers. It was my emotion at the time. Seeing as I'm a life long Tigers fan. I'm sure you've NEVER said anything in the heat of the moment huh?? Must be pretty awesome to be perfect.

Ok I'll admit, in hockey there are usually a few cinderella stories. Funny though that both of those NHL teams you mentioned still couldn't actually win it all. But MLB rarely works like that. It's hard enough in baseball to even make the playoffs (only 4 teams from each league). So if you're good enough to make the post season in baseball then you've either won your division, or you've won the wildcard spot. That means its extremely rare for a cinderella story in baseball. And when there is, they don't go on to win any title. But this is one of those rare years that features the horrid central division. Tigers/Twins will definitely be major underdogs in the first round. Twins JUST went over the .500 mark a few days ago. And the Tigers about to lose their lead to that very team. All other playoff bound AL teams aren't just a little better than us. They are a lot better. And as for the '06 Tigers comparison, we were much better in all areas that year. And most importantly, we had consistent and timely hitting. Also the lowest ERA in the AL didn't hurt much either. We are definitely not as good as we were that year. And that team couldn't even win it all. If we make the playoffs I will be very surprised. If we make it out of the first round I'll be floored. Our bullpen is mediocre at best, and our bats are a joke (except for Cabrera). We're just lucky to have been in the worst division in baseball (which just a few years ago used to be one of the best). Otherwise we wouldn't have a prayer for a playoff birth. Although I still don't think we have a prayer.
-
The race for the central is bacially irrelevant because the Yankees, Angels and Red Sox are much better overall teams than the Tigers and Twins. They have better hitters, a better bullpen and just as good if not better starting pitching. It's called logic. Tigers or Twins would need a miracle to make a splash against these teams.

It's called reality. Welcome to it. We were LUCKY to beat them in the second game tonight. And that was with Verlander on the mound. Sorry but if you think anything I said was inaccurate...well, again, welcome to reality. I stand behind every word I said. Oh yeah and I've been a life long Tigers fan. And I will continue to be. I'm just not a homer like you. Cause if you actually think this team will do anything if we do make it, well, then you're clearly a homer. Have fun with that.

I always hated the guy. So I have no sad feelings hearing this news. In fact, I would like to throw out a "don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out Theo."
-
Yeah how amazing would that be if he all of the sudden started playing like Canuck Todd Bertuzzi? Crazy that one's game can drop so drastically so quickly.
-
See that's what I'm worried about too. I do think Bert will produce when he's on the ice. But how long before he's hurt again??? Here's hoping for a fully healthy season from Todd.
-
I'm a Spartan but I'm also realistic. No way we beat the Michigan Tate Forciers.

Way to contribute to the thread.

Somewhere between 20-25 sounds about right. Especially if he's on a line with Hank.

What a joke that first game of the doubleheader was. Basically just handed the Twins a free victory with Lyon throwing 2 wild pitches BACK TO BACK in the 10th inning, which put Span on 3rd with NO OUTS. Not to mention our non existent bats against some no namer from the Twins. Tigers f*cking suck. They don't deserve to win the central with play like that. And even if by some miracle we do win the central, we're getting our asses swept by the Yankees in the first round. They say pitching is everything in baseball... But when you have a squad full of players that can't hit the f*cking baseball, what good is pitching? We had a 7 1/2 game lead less than 2 weeks ago. F*ck the Tigers.
