But where would Mr. Helm go? It would be dumb to scratch a potential 3rd line center for an enforcer. If we have an injured forward I would welcome Downey with open arms, and the chances of 1 out of our 12 forwards being injured at any point in the season are pretty good anyways.

I hope this is true, we will have the most lethal top 9 in the NHL. Than a bottom line of Abdelkader, Helm, and Eaves. That leaves us with Miller, Ritola, and Drapes left over. We would have to trade 2 (probably Miller and Ritola) and carry Draper as out 13th forward. If Modano signs we will be back to one of the top scoring teams in the NHL again.

Rivalry or not, the regular season games between San Jose and Detroit over the last 2 seasons have been awesome and extremely fast paced, it reminded me of playoff hockey.
-
But they have the same core! And it is younger and will stomp all over Detroits core! And and and the Red Wings are old and stuff!

If he ends up getting bought out a tryout wouldn't be bad at all. If he does well than sign him up.
-
If he is really in that much of better shape, and worked on his skating like he says he did I cant see why not. If he does a good enough job to earn a spot than good for him.

What ever happened with that Ryasensky kid? I found this old quote from him. If anything about the story is true it seems that we wont see him until September.

He could use a good "conditioning stint" with the Griffins. I wouldnt call Downey a no talent good either, he knows enough about the game to go out there put in a solid shift and not make mistakes. Much like May last year, you know he wont be putting up any points but he wouldnt be a liability. The DHE line was awesome last year, and is expected to be our 4th this year. They didnt really put up much offense but were just tons of fun to watch and were an energy line. If Downey replaced Draper on that line I can only see it becoming an even better energy line and more fun to watch. If he still has potential to earn a spot on the roster I would love the signing, especially if he is just taking playing time away from Draper and not the kids, or is in because of injuries.

Hate to make myself sound even worse, but Z weighed 176 when he was drafted.

These days the majority will never respect like the president in the end even if he does a good job. The haters are louder than the supporters, thats just how the cookie crumbles. -
How can anyone not love this one?

He is getting old and didnt even play last year, but I guess if he performs well and earns a spot there is nothing wrong with that.

If Eaves was put in to a top 6 role and was told to go out there and put up points I dont doubt he could. If something ever happens and Eaves gets time playing next to Zetterberg or Datsyuk on a regular basis I would have very high expectations for him. As for playing the point on the PP we all know Eaves has a wicked wrister, but what about his slap shot? When shooting from the blue that is normally the better choice unless you are setting up Homer or something.

C'mon, it was just a joke. People need to quit treating politics like religion. -
But look at his faceoff %!

I hate to revive an old thread, I was just checking out our prospects on youtube. Jarnkrok is supposed to have a lethal shot right now. I was just thinking, when he puts bulks up and 40lbs of muscle he is going to be launching absolute rockets. I am very high on this kid, if he plays that well at the size he is now imagine how much potential he has when he puts on some weight.

Same exact think happened to our good ol' Patty Eaves and now he is getting ready to have the best season of his NHL career on the 4th line. Yes, I feel safe saying that.

Im still thinkin Arbys.... -
Pouliot has some pretty good talent and potential. He could very well be a Cleary, Eaves, Lilja, Samuelsson type guy for them.

Well I went to this mexican restaurant with my uncle a few years ago only to find several small brown rocks spread throughout in his entire meal. We complained to the waitress and the manager came and made our meals free (we didnt want any more after that). Leaving the place we look over next to the building to see around the trees and such were the same exact brown rocks. How they made it to his food, we will never know. Horrific right? -
