I really had to laugh at Hedman trying to chirp The Jackets. You've just been destroyed 2 games in a row, in your own barn, and you go chirp a team who took 4 of their 6 games to overtime, winning the first 2 in the Washington, the year before. Then, to add to his stupidity, wasn't it Tampa that crapped the bed on a 3 games to 2 lead against Washington, getting shutout in their last 2 games? That's like laying in the dirt, bleeding, after you just got beat up on the playground, and then calling the other guy a *****. Let's face it, Swedes just don't have it in them to chirp. Also, what's the point in suspending Kutcherov? It's not like he's making any difference being there. Giving him a game, might let him get his act together.

I don't think Hughes is even close to ready. If he gets lit up by someone like Wilson, or any big Veteran, he's on IR for a while. Hell, he's been injured 4 times in the last year playing against amateurs. Kakko appears to be able to step right into the league, and be able to play on any roster. Podkolzin is probably just as NHL ready as Kakko, but has his 2 year contract to fulfill. MacLean and Burke were talking about how Chernyshenko doesn't want to lose all of his young stars to The NHL, and mentioned that they are already working on Podkolzin to get him to stay home, and play for the home team, with no expense being spared in keeping some of their young talent from leaving for The NHL. It was one of Burke's big cautionary tale a of how not to get burned on draft day.

There's a lot of speculation about Podkolzin due to his already signing in The KHL. That might be enough to make him slide a few positions. It was a big reason Kutcherov slid in his draft year.

So question here. Are we happier missing the playoffs, and picking at #6, or would we rather just squeak into the last playoff spot, get rolled in 4 games, and then pick at 16 or 17? Myself, I'd rather do without all the playoff hoopla, just to be the first one out, like we've done in our last few playoff appearances. Maybe, I'm just patient, because I lived through the entirety of the dark years.

Vanek and Kronwall will be our top 3 pick. Honestly, I don't have a problem with Kronwall being signed to an affordable 1 year deal.

Had had a few choice words with a ref that he should have said in Greek. Looking back at the the play that I'm assuming he was complaining about, he took a pretty good butt-end in the gut, right in front of the ref.

It's a New York Post article. Does anything more really need to be said? Yzerman is available this summer, and is the most attractive name out there. He is going to be listed as a candidate for every hockey team in the universe, all the way down to Mites. The fact that he left The Lightning, to come home to deal with some family issues, just makes these stories all the more plausible.
