Ehrhoff's rights traded to NYI, then traded to Buffalo
BigWillieStyle replied to Travis's topic in General
If you mean here as in LGW, then yes, I've heard it for like 2 years now. And I fully support that move. I read that after I posted. I really hope he doesn't sign, but Chicago definitely needs the help on D. That HJallmarsooonnnnn that they were forced to overpay last summer, really crapped the bed for them this year. I really think that they need a puck mover more than a defensive minded player, that's why I don't quite understand their interest in Monty. But I guess they need some help in their own end too, and Stan got scared so he gave away a pick for 36 hours of negotiations. Go Core. -
What has the last 10 years of drafting really produced for us? What, Kronwall, Franzen, Fil, Hudler, Helm, Kindl? I don't see any 1st liners there. Maybe Kronwall will be a #1, but that's yet to be seen. Franzen's stock is dropping fast. And a bunch of "potential" future stars. Key word is, potential. Statistics will say that only 3, maybe 4 of those players you listed will even make it to The NHL. And of those, maybe 1 of them is a 1st line player. Yeah, statistics can be a real buzzkill, but they are usually pretty close to right. Tack on that, with how many of these players, after being stuck in GR for a third year to develop, will get that itch to go to Europe to play for more than $100 grand a year. Or the fact that they realize that the players in The NHL are huge and are programmed to try to destroy them when ever they get the chance. I hope you don't think I'm trying to bag on our new crop of draftees. I really hope we turn a few of them into more than just a trivia questions. If you read the OP's post, the article was based on, All the current prospects reaching their potential. I guess I'm trying to say, I doubt that will happen. That's why we have trades and UFA signings, something that article left out, as well as the inclusion of probably at least 3 players that will be retired by that time. I guess it's just a bleacher report thing. Hack writers bringing hack ideas. Sorry if you don't like my opinions. You won't be the first. But I'm just as curious as to why you think each one of our prospects will be a winner.

It's like 80's Edmonton all over again. Defense be damned, we'll just score more goals, and hope "Grant Howard" bails us out with a few saves on all the breakaways we give up. I do actually like the idea of going after Richards. Our offense sure wouldn't suffer from him being here. Maybe go the "affordable" route with defense, maybe Jovo, Montador, and Big Rig. And then go into the season with the idea of making a trade before the deadline for a higher end guy, or someone we would like, long term. Then next summer, try to land the big fish that we will most likely need. -
That should get them up to the Cap floor in a hurry. While I don't think they'll have to throw big money at any of these guys to keep them, they will have to spend more than they had budgeted for. This could really affect next years signing of free agents. With 4 forwards, 4 defensemen, and 2 goalies to sign, they may have to either dig deep and hope that they can afford a higher payroll, or say goodbye to some free agents that they had planned to keep. Like Suter and Rinne, perhaps.

Wow, I would think we'd be making some trades and signing some UFA's during that time. If that's what our future looks like, we'll be getting some really good draft picks during those years. We'll be just like The Pittsburgh Blackhawks.

He's totally out "Lebroning", Lebron. Can't wait for the ESPN special.

Nejblíže means: Closer, or Nearer. Word is probably misspelled in the hurry to get the article out. for Esteef with the translation.

Yes, those turtles. < should have used the sarcasm font, I guess. > It would kind of make it hard for his plane to land, and a private jet to whisk him away to Pittsburgh to announce his signing as reported by many on LGP, as well as all of the Twit's out there. Wouldn't you think? Also, the thought of turtles holding up Jagr, I find that hilarious. Maybe a sign. Hold on a minute, Locusts are starting to fill the sky.
-
Total fabrication of bulls***. He said nothing to support your claim. The closest he said is "he may be close to a deal." Your own Rob Rossi wouldn't even confirm that rumor when pressed and brought up the fact that turtles were blocking the runway so that he couldn't land. Yeah, turtles shutting down an airport. :rotflmao: On another note, I did hear that he told Sid that he was going to sign while they were walking on the beach. Sound familiar.

I think he's subliminally trying to tie Hudler, to an awards show. Trying to be sneaky on us, he is.

What a huge surprise. The "Comcast Classic", featuring The Comcast Flyers. Who'd of thunk it?

Must have had one too many headshots. I can't see how any man would want to leave the home of sun, fun, fake boobs, and porn starlets, and move back to a place where the daily temperature is measured in degrees Kelvin.

And this affects his ability to play hockey, how??? Sound like you have personal issues with him, more than his ability to play hockey. Edit: Fedorov lost over $40 million to a crooked investor. Is he an idiot? Possibly. Did it affect his ability to play the game? Not nearly as much as aging and injuries did.

Next headline: "Half of LGW inches closer to edge of Ambassador Bridge, upon hearing Jagr signing is close".

December 2007. Here's a link to purchase your very own copy. Look around, they have some pretty cool back issues still available. https://secure.thehockeynews.com/online-store/index.php?cat=I&=&feature=THNI07121801&

Question: Why do Wings fans hate the Canucks?
BigWillieStyle replied to KeslerFan's topic in General
Actually, only 20 goals. 2 were on Schneider, one was an EN. That should give him something more to smile about. -
Why, the awesome "potential" of Hudler, of course.
-
What? $1.1 mil a year? Really? For Bryz? I think that's what you're trying to say. Yes? Confused.
-
I'd still take them over Souray. He was burried in The AHL..... By Edmonton..... does any more need to be said about his abilities?
-
Rather have. http://www.liquors44.com/special/image/35/jager.jpg?1201634527

Look 4 posts up ^^^^. Cool slo-mo though.

I would expect that he'll bring his 3 trophies to show off at an event at Perani Arena in Flint. Bob Perani got him started in the game, and I believe they are still close, today. The place will have more than enough room for all the people to come out and shower Timmy with praise and try to convince him to come and play for The Wings. I'll post something as soon as I hear it, as I'm in the Flint area, and read The Journal everyday for my newspaper. I'm betting he will be on todays cover page.

Of course, Detroit looked very much the same back in October of 1984. It was pretty crazy at "The Corner" that night. Plenty of cars got torched. Not sure if there was a death count higher than normal that night, but there certainly wasn't a lack of idiots celebrating. Just trying to keep some perspective.
