No. Sadly, she passed away on Christmas Eve 2008. I remember seeing her at the old barn, when I was a little kid back in the 60's. Met her several times over the years. A very nice, but feisty lady. Miss you, Margaret.

Which conference would you rather have the Wings in?
BigWillieStyle replied to weGotTheCup89's topic in General
East. No question about it. It'll be great that they can take the train to Toronto, just like the old days. As for realignment, on Hotstove, they mentioned that it would not be possible for this coming season because the BOG would have to vote on it within the next month and it wouldn't be possible to get a bunch of really rich guys together in that short amount of time to vote. I'm thinking that some of the Western owners are going to do whatever they can to keep The Wings coming to their barns 4 -6 times per year. Of course I'm expecting the same feelings from Eastern owners. -
Loulongo with his first "assist" of the series.

Actually surprised to see ice. I figured they would be diving into water to keep the injuries to a minimum. Don't even know why they're playing this series. Didn't Vancouver already have a parade?

"My heart just isn't in it, anymore". Said 1 week before the playoffs. He's lucky to have seen the ice at all.

Goalies are so cerebral. You can tell they don't get enough shots to the head.

I think this falls under The Campbell Umbrella rule, wherein Bruins get fines, other players get suspensions. Cheap s*** by Horton and Lucic, and Julien smiling and laughing.

I can only vouch for what was said on the TV. Your craziness is another matter of its own.

I think Doc is starting to go senile just a little. I remember back in the 09 SCF he had a shot by Crosby that was saved by Crosby (Osgood) on more than one occasion. Maybe he just gets into his job a little too much. 4-1 and this one is all but done. Bruins looking pretty sad tonight.

I remember hearing that and couldn't stop laughing. $3-3.5 mil. Are you serious? Then I thought, " is he confusing him with Loui Eriksson"? I could see another team offering him around what we offered, but then you think about Hjalmarson signing for $3.5 last year and wonder that he might get an offer. I don't know how long of terms we offered him, but $2 mil seems pretty realistic from what I've seen. I'm sure he'll get a contract from someone at that price.

Vancouver Media already playing "wings too old" card
BigWillieStyle replied to Winger19's topic in General
Hope they didn't already order confetti. This is why I have a big problem with Canucks fans, and the Canadian media for that matter. It all started in August when The Hockey News picked them to win it all, and the barrage hasn't stopped. They are making Habs fans look good. -
Those Who Were at the Game --- Have You Ever Heard a Crowd So Loud?
BigWillieStyle replied to a topic in General
The crowd was loud last night, and even us old folks in the lower bowl were up on our walkers and rocking. As for the loudest, maybe, but there have been several loud moments in The Joe over the years. The Toronto series in 93 comes to mind right away. Games 1 and 2 were loud as blowout wins. But game 7 going into OT, every time the puck went into Toronto's end the crowd was at a full roar. Even for an icing race. The place was rowdy and loud that whole series. Another loud point was the return of #9 at the all-star game in 1980. I don't think it was the loudest in history, but a constant 5-10 minute standing ovation sure was seemed loud after a few minutes of constant SPL's versus the spikes and dips of a real time game. But the loudest to me has to be game 4 versus Philly in 97. Either whem McCarty pulled the how do ya do on Ninamaa in the 2nd, or the last minute of the game, and 5 minutes following. 42 years of frustration came to an end that night. We had something to be louder than Black Sabbath about. Edit: submitted post before finished. -
Which Richards? The contract year, Richards? Or the I got a nice juicy contract for the next couple of years so I'm going to coast, Richards? No way. And as someone already mentioned, we need a scorer not a set up man. I wonder if Hossa is available???

Can't believe Clowe just popped right back up after that hit. Sign him up, Kenny.

WCSF Game 5 GDT: Red Wings 4 at Sharks 3

Something isn't right with this. Even J.R. is blowing Detroit. Too fishy for my liking. -

Nice Gold Medal dive. Let's go PK. -
Way to close it out Nyuks. I guess they didn't learn their lesson last series.

So that's why The Nyucks were all sporting headbands. That should "take them to the top".

For Real??? ******* Waaaahhh!!!!!!!!!! This is the most self centered, assinine post I have ever read. -
Evening up calls has been happening for as long as I can remember. And probably even before that. I remember a young coach from a new St.Louis team that used to be in the refs ear with every call against his team. Always reminding the ref that he owed them one. I wonder what ever happened to that guy?

Don't know the condition of Bergeron, but that could really hurt Boston if he's out for a while. Hopefully, they just kept him out as a precaution. No sense in putting him back in a game when you're up 3-0 in a series. That being said, I like both teams and will be happy with whichever team we play in The Finals.
