I guess you missed the sarcasm in my post. Of 41 Home games this year 10 of them were on a Wednesday. Yes nearly 25% of our home games were on a Wednesday. Also, 1st two rounds are regional coverage, minus those games chosen for NBC, and Versus, so they will be covered by FSNDet. Not sure how we'll face Pittsburgh in the first round.

While I agree with what you're saying in general, the game is not entirely meaningless. Marioburgh is 3 pts. behind Philly, who is having a little trouble winning as of late. They have the possibility of passing Philly for the division title and getting out of that 4, maybe even 5 slot and moving up to what one would think would be the 2 or possibly the 1 spot in the conference. There is some meaning too this game, though most of us could give a s*** about it. And yeah, throw a foil hat on me, but I don't see the reason to air a game minus a teams 3 biggest newsmakers, when there are several other games of interest that could be better used to help promote the league, and the game. Just my $.02

Looking at this years regular season schedule, I'm betting on a Wednesday home game to start, followed by a Friday night game. Why would the league buck a trend now?

This has to be the best April Fools I've seen yet.

Bertuzzi Suspension Prediction/ No Suspension Per League
BigWillieStyle replied to stevkrause's topic in General
I'm kind of surprised that Pee-Aire didn't lecture about Johnson's chin strap being too loose. Oh, that's right, Bert is a barbarian, and his powerful armpit to the head would have been enough force to destroy even the strongest of chinstraps. And, yeah, I think they got both the call on the ice right and the non-suspension right. -
I'm pretty sure that was his 21st or 22nd consecutive start. Shows the faith they have in TurdCo. I can see the comparison. They are both American. That's all.

My Opinion, two words, Eddie Bo. He just had his first child. His whole world just changed forever. His head isn't completely in the game, and hasn't been for a few months now. I'm guessing that has to have something to do with it. Any of you who have children I'm sure understand what I mean. Especially the first. Hopefully he can get his focus back on hockey for a couple of months really quick. Then he can have all summer to play with his new son. And a nice silver cup to bath him in. I also think that someone needs to kick his puppy just a little bit. Just enough to piss him off. He seems to play his best when he's got a little bit of sand in his jock. It's not good for us when he's out on the ice smiling.

I'm quite aware that the Sun and Universe revolve around Toronto. I grew up taking the train from Detroit to Maple Leaf Gardens to see Wings and Laffs games in the 60's and 70's. I'm just stating, in a tougue in cheek way, that Wings fans aren't always the angels that we would like to believe we are. I've been to a lot of games over the years, and can say that we have started our fair share of fights, both home and away. I can't tell you how many times that friends and I started some of them during the mid 70's through the mid 80's. The old Chicago Stadium still has 3 of my teeth from one drunken night about 1982 where I started s*** with a few too many people. Fights in the stands are good, as long as innocent bystanders don't get hurt. I haven't seen The Joe jumping like last night in years. It was good to see that we haven't become TOO complacent as fans, that we fail to remind visitors whos house they're in. sidenote- I wish there was a sarcasm font. It would make being snarky a little bit easier.

Yes. Because all Detroit fans are as classy as the organization is. And we're also as yellow as our team is when it comes to fighting.

Looks like he's playing soccer. I didn't know Suter was a Euro-wuss. I wonder how many drinks that cost him after the game? Do players even go out drinking after games anymore?

Damn you, Glen Hanlon!!

Unfortunately, my computer skills lag just behind my knitting skills.... And I have never knitted. Though, I may be able to do it in AutoCAD/Catia. Just wouldn't know how to post it to this thread. But, for inspiration, I can offer this. http://webspace.webring.com/people/bu/um_6433/ And I raise my ginger ale back to you. And anyone who decides to take this on as a project.

We should come up with our own, Mickey's Bingo Bango. It would have me out of my seat on a Saturday night.

It was addressed a year ago with Rule 48. Now quit being paranoid.

The way they spoke about it on CBC last night, I thought it was Glenn Healy's. No wonder the Isles won. -
