Canucks Dman Andrew Alberts out indefinitely
BigWillieStyle replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Is that new math?? 3 games x 2 points each win = 7??? Plus, Vancouver has an uncanny ability to lose and still get a point just for showing up as can be seen in their OTL column. They always seem to give it the ol Phoenix try. Actually, I think we really need to worry more about beating ourselves than losing to other teams. Babs needs to keep the threat of skating suicides fresh in our heads. -
Wow, they are going to completely roll over The Nucks in the finals.

Mike Brown Signs 3 Year Extension With Toronto
BigWillieStyle replied to Bring Back The Bruise Bros's topic in General
Looks like a great date for revenge. Why does that day seem so familiar? -
Only respectable if you wear it with a #4 sweater.

Nabokov claimed by NYI, refuses to report, suspended
BigWillieStyle replied to Matt's topic in General
To bad he's signed through NEXT season. -
This is a must have for every Red Wings fan. I must have watched the Yzerman OT win against The Blues, from the blueline 100 times since I bought the dvd set. That and Fight Night at The Joe on 3-26-97. Can you burn a hole in a dvd from watching it too much???? And, yeah I still have the VHS versions of 97, 98, and 2002.

Another "Made in Michigan" kid, showing up big in the NHL. Good on him, no matter how big he makes Hudler look.

Solid player. Just ask Brian Leetch how he won his 2 Norris Trophys. As for names,... Satan or Tugnutt. Both winners.

10 games, for a member of The Flames showing decency..... Though that may just be an internal suspension instead of a league issue.

It could be placed between, "Rumor Mill" and "Water Closet".

Just like Bettman,... ... It has absolutely nothing to do with hockey.

I wonder if Daniel Larssen would like to retract a few statements right now.

He's gone from truculence,..... To Suckulence.

No Blake. No Nabokov. No replacements for them. Add in, that none of their "core" players are in a contract year. Sounds like a recipe for their lack of success to me.

Jimmeh!!!!!! Streak derailed!!!

The AHL is starting to look a lot like the NHL of 4 years ago. Well at least there's a lot of familiar names there. The could probably ice a pretty good allstar team of salary cap casualties. Had problems with Hitch, also. I'm sure none of that has to do with Mike though.

It must have happened in the Winter Classic. Because anyone not suffering from a head injury would have went and shook hands with the other team. You know, that tradition crap he's always spewing, yet constantly avoiding.

Yeah, D-mac needs to put his false teeth in when he does the radio show. He doesn't sound nearly as bad on VS. But I also wonder if he's still half asleep. Isn't 7am early for a ( former ) pro hockey player? I would imagine that back in the day he was just packing it in for the night at that time.

Murphy and the looonnng pauses between words, or even sylables, drives me nuts. He's even worse on NHL on the Fly. It makes me want to smack him on the back and say spit it out Murph. Kind of like the stuttering kid you used to pick on, just without the stutter. I can only imagine I would have failed Grammar class if I would have had to diagram Murphy's sentences.

Thanks, I now have new ringtone.

That's not HUMANLY possible..... But they could be looking for some help filling that gigantic void that will be left. Maybe we'll have to play with 3 defenseman each shift for a few years, just to get us over the hump.

Is it too late to make it a water polo match?

I kind of have this feeling that Babcock is pushing Stuart to play more offensively while he is paired with Nick so that he can better evaluate his offensive abilities. Looking at the possibility of Nick retiring at the end of this year, after winning The Norris as well as The Cup, of course, he's trying to see if Stuart has the talent to take on a first pairing role. He was brought in here and thrown into a defensive role without much need for him to make much more than a good outlet pass. Looking into the future there may be a need for him to swing a little more back to the offensive side that he started his career with... And as mentioned already, playing with Nick can give one a real sense of confidence that you can go deep in the zone, and still be covered on the backend.

Didn't he knock a linesman out cold when they jumped in to break up a fight? If my memory serves me right I remember that happening. The 2 linesman jumped in a little early and one got laid out by Craighead. Sound familiar?
